The point-and-click mystery series from Her Interactive basically constitutes my childhood.

My mom and I played them together when I was 10 (holy cannoli we started with Message in a Haunted Mansion and it was SCARY), and I've been playing them ever since. Not only do you get to interrogate suspects and solve tricky puzzles, but you also get to learn so much about these fascinating locations, professions, and mythologies. Things I've learned from the ND games have helped me more than once during an exam.

I have the more recent ones on my Mac, and I've found only one other person at my university that has played and loved these games. I know they have a huge fan base ranging from tweens to 20 somethings to moms; has anyone here had a similar positive experience with these games? I'd love to hear more about your favorites and/or discuss the creepiness of a few of them. :)

Sorry I was on limited time yesturday. I can't play my old CDs on my new laptop. I kind of wish they would remake them so I could do that. So far my favorite one even without knowing the ending is Blackmoore Manor and/or that one with the skii lodge and wolves I think?

The last ten have been Mac compatible, which is the only way I've been keeping up with them. I really miss playing the older ones - they rereleased the first game as a 'remastered' version, hopefully the others will come along soon.

I really enjoyed Blackmoor Manor as well. All the cryptozoology and folklore and alchemical elements made it more mysterious and pretty terrifying for a mystery game. The White Wolf of Icicle Creek was good too! I think I got stumped a couple times during that one. :)

Ah that's what it was, I think I had blue moon canyon too. White wolf of Icicle Creek I defiantly got stumped on, but I can't remember where. Though I kind of lost my CDs right now, so I can't play them.
