"Well can we blame them? We're all mad here Alice." Hatter reminded with a smile, he was trying to cheer up Alice, he really didn't like seeing her so sad. "There will be no sadness in Wonderland Alice. Only good times." he added and gently pat her shoulder after standing. "Here, you are able to do whatever you want and no one is going to judge you. If you want to stay, l won't force you not to. I would miss you terribly if you left again." Hatter admitted softly before starting to wash the dishes.

Alice smiled and nodded. " I'm not going back. I never fit right there." She said softly. " Here I'm allowed to be me."

"Of course, that's what's great about Wonderland. You are free to be whatever you want to be. I mean, look at me! " he said and grinned. " Well then, what would you like to do today Alice? Would you like to start on your clothes?" He asked her softly.

Alice smiled. "I'm not leaving here Hatter. Not this time." She said watching him. "Is there anything I can do to help? I feel kinda silly just sitting here. "

"Silly is a good feeling. Besides, you are a guest so I am here to do whatever you ask of me Alice. You don't need to do anything." he explained and looked at her when he was done with the dishes. "If you really want to help though, I suppose we can start looking for fabrics to use for your clothes. I am sure we can find some...somewhere." Hatter commented.

"You seem a bit skeptical Hatter. I don't remember you ever being like that. " Alice said watching the way he worded that sentence. Maybe it was the law classes she was taking, or maybe she was reading into something that wasn't there.

Hatter raised an eyebrow at this, "What do you mean by that Alice?" he asked."Why, I'm the same hatter I was when you last were here. You have changed quite a bit yourself, but I suppose it's only because of all the schooling you are doing correct? It is rather normal for people to change is it not?" Hatter asked curiously.

Alice had to stop and think about that. "Well I guess. I was twelve when I was here last. So I suppose we do change a bit over time." She said. "Tell me though, how have I changed?"

"Well...you were much more muchier before remember? You lost your muchness. I guess you just never noticed." Hatter started and tilted his head to the side in confusion. "How have I changed exactly Alice?" he asked easily.

"Muchier?" Alice giggled a bit. "I don't know what that means." She smiled. She stopped to think about how much he changed. "Well, I don't know how to explain it. You seemed so much more larger than life."

"I'm larger than life?" he repeated and grinned. "Well I must admit that it sounds very interesting really. I didn't think it was possible to be larger than life but you have proved me wrong." he said happily. "Are you sure you are not just talking madness?" Hatter asked suddenly.

Alice smiled. " Oh now your ego has inflated." She thought for a moment. "Well in can't everything be considered madness?" She countered.

Hatter laughed softly at this and sat down with her. He was very much enjoying this conversation. "Well yes that's quite true. However, maybe nothing is actually madness and we just think it is because we ourselves are mad. Maybe we think we are mad and we really aren't." he pointed out with a grin on his face.

"Maybe it's all utter nonsense. Maybe nothing is real. In this world or in the one I am from." Alice suggested leaning towards him.

"Maybe you're right Alice. Maybe we're not even real, maybe our entire lives have been nothing but a figment of our imagination." he started and grinned as he leaned closer. "It's quite fascinating to think of it that way isn't it?" Hatter asked.

"It would be interesting wouldn't it?" Alice asked dropping her voice a bit. She never had conversations like this. She really enjoyed it. "But if it's true there's no such thing as consequences. " She shrugged.

"Well there are no such things as consequences here in Wonderland. Unless you anger the Queen in which she will then have you beheaded." Hatter replied softly and smiled. It really was nice to have a deep conversation with someone, all of his other friends didn't really talk about things like this.

"That's true. My head almost ended up there once before." Alice shrugged it off as if it didn't matter. "So Hatter are you saying Wonderland is the perfect utopia? " She asked.

"Wonderland, a utopia?" Hatter repeated and smiled. "It is if you want it to be Alice." he replied easily. No place was perfect, but for him, Wonderland was as perfect as they come. "Was there anything you wanted to do today?" he asked curiously.

Alice smiled. " I don't know I was having fun with our little conversation. " She said. "Actually, where do you get your fabric?"

"The queen has many types of Fabric. I'm just not sure how we would get some though." Hatter explained with a slight frown.

"What are you not telling me Hatter?" Alice Asked watching him closely. His fun banter seemed to vanish as he seemed lost in thought.

"What do you mean Alice?" he asked and thought for a bit. "I will have to find a way to get some fabric. I'm sure that the White Rabbit will be able to help us. We just have to wait until we see him, or we can go look for him now." Hatter explained.

Alice looked at him closely. "Well alright let's go. I bet Chess knows where Rabbit might be."

"Yes, he probably knows. Let's just hope he tells us where he is." Hatter said and walked out of his house with Alice at his side. He led her deep into the woods and looked up at the tress, looking for that cat.
