"You never were so interested before," Phil said. "I understand that the circumstances now are different, now that you're bonded to her. But you never seemed to need anyone else around."

Clint sighed a bit.

"Alright, get up here," he said, moving over to make space for Phil. "Where's this coming from?"

Phil moved over to the hammock, settling in easily. "I told you, you just never seemed interested before," he said. "You'd look once in a while but you never mentioned anything to me."

Clint put an arm around Phil gently.

"I wasn't interested before," he admitted. "I didn't mean to bond with her, it just kind of happened. You know I don't have the same kind of willpower you do."

Phil snorted quietly. "Bondings don't always end well," he pointed out. "Especially unexpected ones." He was quiet for a few moments. "But now you want to keep her." Now the two of them wasn't enough, he wasn't saying.

Clint heard it all the same.

"You've always been enough, Phil," he said. "Hell, I'm the one who doesn't deserve you, and you know it." He was quiet for a moment. "I really do think you'd like her, if you gave her a chance, though."

Phil was quiet for a moment. "You know I don't register things the same way you do, I don't react the same way," he said. "From what I've seen of her, if she recovers from what Hydra did to her, she'd be alright here." It was a cautious not quite acceptance, but willing to try anyway.

"I know you don't," Clint said. He nuzzled Phil a bit. "It's alright. I don't expect you to be okay with this right off the bat. And I think she's strong enough to be okay. She just needs some time."

"I'd be worried if she was okay right off the bat," Phil murmured. "How much time she'll need is something to keep in mind, however."

"I'm doing what I can," Clint said. He cuddled a bit closer to Phil.

Phil settled in there. "Anything in particular I should know before I try talking to her?" he asked.

"She still seems a bit skittish," Clint replied. "I figure you already know that, but still. And apparently she likes to bake."

Phil snorted. "And if you hadn't wanted to keep her before you found that out, you definitely do now," he said, his voice dry but a hint of affectionate amusement lacing through.

Clint grinned.

"Can't help that I have a sweet tooth," he said. "Besides, I bet it won't be hard at all to teach her those apple turnovers you like."

Phil just sighed indulgently and settled in there, already turning over potential ways to talk to Jasmine.

Jasmine, meanwhile, had heard the first part of the conversation. Enough to know that despite what Clint said she was interfering, and maybe she should give them some space. So she headed back to her room, frowning.

Victoria was already there, in a similar mood. She looked over when Jasmine came in.

"Hey," she said quietly.

"Hey." Jasmine was quiet for a moment. "You look like you could use some time away from here, too."

"You too?" Victoria asked. She nodded just a little. "I think I want to go home."

"Yeah." Jasmine sighed. "Too good to last," she murmured. "Besides, his mate doesn't want me, and I'm the interloper here."

"Same story on my end," Victoria replied quietly. "I'm intruding, and his mate doesn't want me around."

"Alright." Jasmine nodded. "I am going to start looking up flights back to London. Make sure we've got everything we... well, just make sure we've got clean clothes for the flight, I guess." Since they didn't exactly have anything after being rescued from Hydra.

"Yeah," Victoria replied. "We really don't have anything else we need to take." She stopped for a moment. "...or any sort of photo ID necessary to get back into England, come to think of it."

"Shit." Jasmine shook her head. "Okay. We'll figure something out. I just need some time to think."

"Even if we don't go back to England, I still want to get out of here," Victoria said quietly. "Even if it's just for a while."

"Yeah. I know a few people in the area, I can call and see if I can find somewhere else for us to stay for a few days while we get back on our feet." Jasmine felt better having something in mind to do.
