"Good idea," Victoria said, nodding. She sat down on the bed, huddling down a bit. She didn't like the thought that she was causing problems for her Alpha.

It took her a day or two, but Jasmine got in contact with her friend and secured the two of them a room for a week.

Of course, before anything could actually happen, the Avengers got called away on a mission. Jasmine was simultaneously relieved that she didn't have to talk to her Alpha about this and disappointed that she wouldn't get to see him again.

Victoria was also relieved and disappointed at the same time. She felt bad about leaving while everyone was gone, but it was much, much easier to do that than it would have been to face her Alpha and tell him she was heading out. Besides, she really wanted some space at the moment, and she doubted he would have let her leave.

She couldn't help that little bit of her that still wanted to be around him, though.

"Okay. Ready?" Jasmine looked at Victoria. She was fairly certain that if Vic weren't going with her, she'd wimp out and stay. And she needed space.

"Yeah," Victoria replied, nodding a bit. She didn't want to give herself any time to second-guess their decision.

Jasmine nodded and took the elevator with her down to ground level. She walked out of the building, wincing a bit at the noise and the press of people. She used to be fine with this, and she wasn't going to stop now. But she did tuck her arm through Victoria's to comfort them both.

Victoria huddled a bit closer to Jasmine. The crowds around them were making her uncomfortable, and she flinched a little when someone brushed past her.

Jasmine managed to wade through the crowds of people to her friend's apartment and knocked.

"Hey, Jazz," the woman said as she answered the door.

"Hi Kate. Thanks for letting us stay." Jasmine moved inside carefully. Kate was a Beta, at least, so not hard on her nose.

"No problem." Kate shut the door after they were both in.

Victoria took a moment to take in Kate's scent, mentally tagging the woman as a Beta and mostly not a threat. She relaxed a bit once the door was closed. It was nice not to be out in the crowds anymore, even if she didn't know the Beta woman yet.

"I've got a room for you two over here," Kate said. "Hope you don't mind sharing."

"It's fine," Jasmine said, following Kate to the room. It wasn't huge, but it wasn't cramped either. "Thanks. Really."

"No problem." Kate grinned a bit. "Although I wouldn't say no to some scones, if you have time."

"I'll work on it," Jasmine promised.

"Thanks for letting us stay," Victoria echoed. "We really do appreciate it." She ran a hand through her hair and grimaced a little bit. A hot shower sounded nice.

Kate nodded. "Bathroom's in here, I've got some extra supplies if you want, they're under the sink," she told them. "I've got work in half an hour, so you two go ahead and get settled in."

Jasmine nodded and watched as Kate moved back into her bedroom before she sighed a bit. "I'll get the bedroom comfy, you go on and take a shower."

"Thanks," Victoria said. Once Kate was gone, she stretched a little and sighed. It was nice to be away from all of the males in the Tower. Now she just needed to actually relax.

"I'll make sure there's still hot water for you," she said to Jasmine. "So you can shower after, if you want."

"Thanks," Jasmine said quietly. The scent of Beta was nice and calm and kind of refreshing actually. "I feel better here already."

"It feels better here," Victoria agreed. "It's... easier. Softer, somehow."

"Yeah. Not so many pheromones and things," Jasmine agreed. "Go on and take your shower, you'll feel better once you have."

"Yeah," Victoria agreed. She went to find a towel, and then headed in to shower. The hot water was absolutely heavenly, and she was kind of glad to wash away the lingering scents from the tower.

Jasmine put her stuff down on the bed but otherwise didn't do much. She looked out the window instead, trying not to get scents from the tower on anything else, and adjusting to the new noises and rush of people down below.

Victoria took her time enjoying the shower, but reluctantly got out before the hot water ran out. She wrapped herself in a towel and headed into the guest room.

"Your turn," she murmured to Jasmine.

"Thanks." Jasmine found another towel and also took a shower. It did feel nice, and she could feel herself relaxing as all the other scents washed away. She emerged a little later flushed, clean, and much more relaxed.

Victoria was curled up on the couch at that point, a blanket wrapped around her. The little blanket cocoon was comforting. She looked up when she heard Jasmine.

"Better?" she asked.

"Much," Jasmine said with a little smile. "I think I'm good for a bit, now. How about you?" She settled down next to Victoria.

"I'm alright," Victoria said, nodding. She shifted a bit to share the blanket cocoon with her.

Jasmine curled up with her happily enough, just relaxing and resting for now. She didn't even want to turn on the TV or anything. She just wanted the quiet.

Victoria cuddled close to Jasmine as well, enjoying the Omega-only cuddles. It was comforting, after everything that had happened.
