“you started to read Dies the Fire?” he sounded mystified as he looked back at her. His eyes an odd shade of green she had not yet seen in his eyes yet. “you are a ball of surprises.” Holding out a mug to her he smiled as his eyes shifted to a pinkish purple. “one day your going to have to tell me how I landed with some one that knew so much.” Sipping his cup of tea he closed his eyes and sighed.
“ahhhh it is nice to have something warm in your belly when you just wake.” Reaching into his cupboard again he pulled out a loaf of bread and some cheese. “from what I can tell that is the only book in this whole world written in my native tongue, English. I happened to have it on me when I was brought here. Have not found any way of bring other things over here or sending things over to my world.” Not that he was sure of but then he had not appeared in his own world after sending out S.O.S.’s in magic bottles. “though I was able to find a mage that would make the book unable to be destroyed even by dragon fire.”

"I have a unique talent that I am able to read any language. There is a spell one can cast on oneself that allows them to do so, but I have had this ability naturally, at least as long as I could remember. The way it was written, it almost reminded me of the common tongue that is spoken among a majority of the races on this planet. I will admit, it did take a moment to process what I was reading as the language is completely new to me." She took a sip of the tea, holding the cup with both hands. "I can understand why you wouldn't want such a thing destroyed. If it was brought from your world, a price could never be put on something of that value."

He smiled as he sipped the tea. “as much as it seems like the common tongue here its not. I have had the spell cast on me for me to understand all languages and thought the same thing. That is until the spell wore off and no one would cast it on me again. I had to learn the common tongue all over again. I wish that that had been the gift in my blood line, to understand all languages but no mine is this.” Holding up his hand he created a small blue flame. “it is cold to the touch and sometimes acts odd. My sire says it is not a common one even among our line but I did not care much for it.” Looking out the window he smiled a secretive smile. “that is until I got here, if you give me a spell book I can cast any spell out of it if I understand the spell and what it is supposed to do. One of the clerics I know thinks that I could do any spell that I know what it is to do and how the caster dose it, even his divine magic, but I have not tried that yet.”

"I must admit, I do wish the spell could last longer. It can be quiet annoying to have to translate texts into common or another language." All those annoying documents in elvish, and it was all a waste of my time... yet they still made me do it. "The gift can be a curse, I won't lie about that." She took another sip as she gazed at her faint reflection in the liquid. She looked up to see him create the blue flame. "Things like that are not very common, even if they do appear from time to time. Understanding spells however is only half the knowledge you need to harness their power properly. A worker in the field can cast a spell, but it's strength or even his ability to control is come into factor more so then anything else. I saw a child once try to cast a divination spell but succeeded in only summoning evil spirits. Thankfully, I was there to rid the menace before it could grow. Divine spell are much easier however, as Faith in the deity you align with aids in your ability to perform the act."

“well unless I can use my little father in Red mother and Blue father to cast spells, I don’t think I will be casting them any time soon.” The blue flame went out as he closed his hand around it. He was not wearing his gloves this morning and the scales were easily seen. Cutting a few slices of the bread and cheese he offered them to her before cutting himself some. “shall we hit the market frist and buy up the last of the items we need or do you want to trust in what we already have?”

She nodded to hit statement about not casting spells, Maybe I could offer him a lesson in basics of magic. He seems like he would be well adept at the art if I took him under my wing. She noticed the scales as she took the offered food, taking a bit. "We should pick up the tea, and possibly anything else we need. This could take a few days depending on any trouble we run into and the distance of travel. I am still unsure how long it will take to travel to Kryptgarden Forest." I need to get more use to traveling on foot.

“once we are out of the city I can shift again and we can travel faster by you ridding me.” If you trust me not to run off with you he thought as he took a few more bites of the cheese. “I will probably have to pay a bit to keep this place as I don’t think I will be able to take all my books with me. You would think that I would know better to get attached but then they do say dragons have hoards.” He had never really thought about it like a hoard but it really was. He always had a collection of books that he could not live without. “oh what I would give for a bag of unlimited holding.” He said wishfully.

"Unlimited... Impossible. But you could possibly run into one that could fit the contents of your room that you wish to take and then some." She commented, quickly trying to avoid the dragon ridding issue. That was not what she wanted to go into at the moment. Grabbing her bag and moving it onto the table. "I myself have a small bag of of holding, roughly 30 cubic feet of space, but there is nothing within the space at the moment besides what I have left within." I made sure to steal this from that woman's horde. I will at least use it. "I never did buy those potions I was set to purchase yesterday. Things moved so strangely in a way that I wasn't expecting."

“you should not say that it is impossible, some god might deiced to try you on that and make one that works.” He had heard of a few ways it could be done but that was not a magic he had seen enough information of to be able to do. And he knew that his fist few tries would only end up with unusable items. Oh they might hold some items but not as much as Alex would want. “I have not seen one in the markets that I could afford at this time.”
Raising he eyebrow he looked at her bag and then back at her. “are you offering me space in your bag to store some of my books and other items?” he is surprised that she even told him that she had one. He had heard that they were hard to get a hold of an a few had been killed for one of them. “what potions were you looking to get? I might have some around here, cut down on what you need to buy.”

"I am offering a little space to take a few of the books you'd like with us. Make sure there are no sharp points on any of them however, I will not lose the items held within or the bag itself." She sighed, remembering hearing the tales of bags being ruptured, one even caused a house to vanish with no explanation why. "I do not want to tempt my life to fate either." She left the bag on the table, showing she was seriously about her offering. "I was looking into a few different potions. anything that I could find to aid me. There are many, yet I hadn't looked over what was offered compared to my needs."

“ah, I can think of a few that I would like to take along.” Slipping the last of the bread and cheese into a small sack Alex walked back towards the room. “most of what I have I can pick up at other shops along the way if we do find a bag of holding for me, but there are a few spell books that I have been enjoying that I would like to keep.” His voice carried nicely through the door as he pulled the books down from his shelf. He sighed as he looked over at a large book of bardic stories he had been enjoying but knew that he would have to live without them. a little while later he returned with twelve books seven of them were spell books, three were books on magic theory, two were books on the Sword Coast and some of the interior but the last one was in Drow.
“I hope these are not to many, there were a few more I would love to take but as you said you only had a little space so I don’t want to be to greedy.” Setting them down he smiled at her. “and not a single one has a sharp corner.”
“well a bandoleer would probably be better for the storing of potions, that way you have them within easy reach. If we get some tanned hide I can make up a few of those to hold the bottles we might get.” He had made a few sets of cross bandoleers for one of the supply shops not far from there that had been greatly loved by the adventures that got them that he felt that she might like a set to. And they were not that hard to make up when you had the potion bottles there to size the pouches to. Reaching into a cupboard next to the one that had had the cheese he pulled out a simple adventures pack with bed roll attached to it. The straps on the front were designed to hold potion bottles not just act like straps.

"If we add a few more, then it would fill the bag completely. This will give me just enough room for anything else I'd like to bring." Alexandria opened up the bag, reaching in and starting to put the books inside it. "This will be plenty of stuff. I don't think you'll have to forget about everything, Maybe we can collect the rest." She commented, looking over the spell tomes as she put them in. Interesting. "I was thinking a few I could put in here for emergencies, Not for battle or quick use. If I need to use them, I'm doing something wrong and will have no time to react." With that, she was her confidence in battle.

“as I said I was not wanting to be greedy, and as it is I was done reading them or they are common enough books I can pick them up along the way when we find a way to have more room.” Slinging the last of his important items, like a tea pot, he looked around the room. “I cannot say I will miss this place. I think I could have gotten a much better place in my world for a lot less than this one was here.” He did not think to say that in his world gold was worth a lot more too. The silver alone that he payed to have this room was worth more then she would have thought. Though the jump from silver value to gold here was not as steep. “well shall we be off then Friend Alexandria?” stepping to the door he put wards to action and open it for her.
“I was thinking more of if I made you a bandolier for your bottles then if you lose the bag you still have the ones attached to your body.” He showed her his belt that was made almost like his bandoliers. Packs are so much easier to lose when falling down a steep hill then it is to lose a bandolier or belt.”

"I know the feeling..." She muttered as he said he wouldn't miss this place. Collecting her Axe, and readying herself. "Let's go." She took his offer and exited with him. "That sounds like a good idea when you put it that way. Having them easy to access and in a good location in case I were to lose this bag. However, I'd cut someones hand off before I part with it." She looked up at the sun, covering her eyes. "Such a clear day after the storm." The city again was bustling with people, the noise made that clear. They could head out now, it wouldn't change a thing. "Do you know how long it may take us to arrive at Kryptgarden Forest?"

“I would kill some one too if I had a bag like yours and lost it. But there are those times that you just happened to lose something when not meaning to.” Locking the door behind him he walked with her down the stairs and to the door onto the street. Before walking out of the he dropped off a note to the door next to the passage out. He would be also filing a note with the city watch to keep his landlord honest about renting out that room, a part of him had hoped it would never come to this but some part of him must have known that he would one day have to make this journey. For what person in their right mind wrote down all of the items they owned.
As they stepped out onto the road he thought of how long it usually took him to walk and how long it might take them. “depending on how fast you can walk it should take us a day to a day and a half. Are you worried that something it going to stop us or slow us down?” he did not mention of her ridding him as she seemed not to want to do that.

"That is true. Planning for the worst is always desired." She put her hand to her head at that, not liking it but acknowledging that the chances were of the bag being lost forever. She looked to the main path, knowing that once they exited the city it would become far quieter. Deep down she enjoyed that fact, a little solitude with a companion was going to be nice. She turned to him at his question, "You never know what could happen when you travel. Bandits, and the like are common."

Walking towards the market he nodded knowing just how she was feeling about the idea of the loss of the bag. “well lets go see what we can find that will not break the bank with us at the market.” he hoped that he might find one of those lovely bags but did not bet on it. The one book she had of his that he would miss if they lost it would be that drow primer. He had been luck to find it, it would be hard to talk another drow into giving him one or selling him one that was not written on their paper from below. This one had been a worshiper of Eilistree and he had only consented because of the dragon scale he had been given. Maybe if they had to he could get another scale to shade.
“I think with our talents we should not have to worry about bandits unless they ambush us in a larger group then last night.” He smiled at her

"I'm sure we'll find them cheap, I'm not needing anything fancy when it comes to potions." She began to think back to the library back home, all the rare and valuable books that she would read. That's the one thing I can say I was grateful for when the broods began to work together. The collective knowledge from the books all broods horded. "I'm sure we will, But I honestly hope that we do not run into any issues on our path. I'd like to finish this quest in a timely manner." She stretched as they made their way through the crowded streets. Even with them not at the market, she noticed many peddlers selling wears and trinkets. Passing by one nearest to the Market, She got a strange feeling that she recognized someone. She couldn't tell who it was as they moved rather quickly away. Shaking her head, It was all she could to not mention it aloud. I'm seeing shadows were none lie.

“is it good to be getting them cheap? I thought that the more you paid the better they were?” He really did not want to have her going cheap on the potions and finding that they needed to have them a better quality to survive. Though there was the chance that he could call on the Red Mother or Blue Father to have healing granted to him, but that was risking it.
“as do I, the sooner we get this done the sooner we can head out to find out if the dragons are massing for war.” He said it quietly so that others around them would not hear what he said. He did not want to be the one that caused the riots in Waterdeep that would lead to dragon killings en mass.

"Cheap will suffice. My faith will allow me to perform minor healing acts if we need them." Minor is all I am able to muster. I believe in them, but because of my bloodline... I am limited in what I can do. She knew that she needed to fully atone for her families atrocities before the favor would truly be granted. That woman would be so 'proud' that her daughter has become close to a Battle-Cleric. She knew that wasn't the case, Her faith allowed the acts and her skills were a separate matter entirely.
"I hope that is not the case." She reached up and fit the tip of her thumb in mild anger over the idea of a war, before shaking her head and quickly heading towards the alchemist. She purchased the bare minimum she wanted, quickly putting them supplies away. "I will not allow Darkness to take hold." She uttered that phrase as if darkness wasn't just a term, but was truly a being that existed. The only one within range to hear that come from her mouth looked at her before quickly moving away.

“I am not going to tell you what to do with your money. I just want to make sure that we wont have to worry about anything. Granted as I said I can do most spells if I have heard of what they are to do.” He did not know if she fully understood that what he was meaning was that he had not found a spell that he could not cast after reading about it or being told what it should do. He had once had a partner on a job that tested that fact. After they returned to Waterdeep the man had cut off all contact with Alex saying he was not natural and that magic was a danger to all who were around him.
“shall we be hunting food out in the wild or should we pick up some food?” In dragon form it would not be to hard to hunt for food but she might know a reason not to be flying around in dragon form at this time. He would hate for someone to think he was one of the evil reds that were trying to destroy the world.
“I have never seen some one bite their thumb before, I have heard of it but never seen it.” His eyes glowed teal gold with amusement at her doing that. Not that he would tell her that he was, he knew that some people took offence to someone finding amusement in what they did let alone telling them. “what exactly is the meaning behind it? I read of a group of men doing it in a play but no one could tell me why they did it.”
“I to will not allow Darkness to take hold. To precious is this world for that to be allowed to happen.” The image of a black European dragon, wings spread back lit by the moon on a mountain sent shivers down his spine. He knew deep down that that dragon wanted the destruction of all that lived and breathed and only those that fought againted evil protected the world from him.

"I understand what you mean, I am just stating my opinion. No harm done." She reassured him when it came to the potions. There was no reason for him to assume she meant ill towards him cause of that. "As for food, Hunting our own shall be fine. I had heard rumors that the north area and Kryptgarden Forest are furtile hunting grounds. I carry darts within my bag, wrapped in solid pouch to ensure they do not harm the bag, for needs such as that." She gave him a look that she would explain her reasons later.
"It has always been something I did when I felt... angry. I cannot explain the reasoning behind why I do what I do. It just is." I should ask him about such a play later. A new piece of literature seemed to hold her attention in that regard. It was then he made his deceleration to aid against the foe as well. "If you truly wish to help, then you must know what it is you truly are dealing with. It is not something I will discuss within the walls. People harbor ill will against this."

Smiling his eyes twinkled gold as he spoke. “As did I so no worries.” His voice was filled with mirth as he spoke. “I was thinking that it might be wise to hunt our food, with my nature I usually can find some sort of food out there no matter what the land looks like. But there are those that don’t want to relay on the wild animals, they want the soft, farm raised beasts that have no thought between their ears.” He wondered what she might have up her sleeves that she would only use darts to hunt with. But to each their own.
“how interesting.” so here they use it in anger but its an insult in Romeo and Juliet. I woulder when and how it became an insult. If this world is running along the same path as mine did it will have to soon to have R&J be accurate for the times. smiling he nodded as they walked on and talked. “I would love to know what you know. I also understand that there are some things that the people here do not like hearing about in their world. In my world we called that effect NIMBY.”

"Farm bred livestock do not have the same... flavors that hunted beasts offer. But that is saved for another discussion." She looked to him, missing his comment on her biting her thumb. "You'll understand more on the subject when we leave. If there is nothing else, I am prepared if you are." She gripped her axe tightly. The poor folk who live in this city. They have heard the tale and know it's possible to come to pass. They fear that outcome, as do I. But I will not cower against him, I will fight him. That woman would seek to destroy the world with this, and bring him to this plane through ignorance. She wanted to say all this to him, but knew now would be the worst time to try.

“it is that lack of thought between their ears that make them tasted so bland, and then you have those cooks that try to throw in all those herbs and spices just to get near to the same tasted as they would have gotten if they had just go out and hunted a wild boar.” He could feel his mouth watering as he spoke of the tasted of meat. It had been some time since he had hunted a good juice animal, maybe he was long over dew for this.
As they arrived in the market he smiled to her. “I have a few things I need to pick up, would you like to come with me or go shopping on your own and meet me back here with the next bell?” looking up at the clock over the market he judged the time to be twenty till and felt that it should be enough time for him to get what he needed.
