Yikes! I've had a few stomach aches recently but nothing super serious. My dad was sick the other day though so I guess it's going around.

Ooh, you must be excited to be graduating!

Uh oh. Bad tumtum!!

My major is English! I may have to minor in Education at the university though. I'm not too keen on teaching but there isn't really anything else out here that I could do with an English degree.

I'm feeling slightly better now but I figured it's just safer to stay home. That and by the time I felt able to move it was already too late to really get ready for work. V_V

LOL, well an English degree will probably serve you better than a French one. >.>

Yeah me too. But every once in a while should be okay.

That's cool though!

Ugh I have to go to the dentist today and get a tooth filled.

Yeah, I think we get five or six days and I've only used one so far.

I feel like I should have done one of those marketing/economic language tracks though. That would have been more useful. >.>

OMG I'm like terrified of getting fillings after I had a bad experience with one once.

That's not too bad then.

Where do you work? So when you major in French, what all do you study? Like French Literature and things?

Oh me too, me too. This dentist can get kind of rough.

I work in a French-based company in NYC. I'm doing mostly graphic design at this point.

Yeah, we studied grammar in the early years and literature in the later years. I also did a French Cinema course. And when I was in France I took French Art History.

Oh that's so cool! That's what I'm doing too, pretty much, but with English. At my junior college it was all American based. I think at the university it will be British, which i'm excited for! Oooh you went to France! I'd love to go over there and visit.

The literature courses were pretty challenging because we had to read like A LOT. I think we read like 5-6 books per semester. In the beginning I was trying to look up every work I didn't know but it took waaay to long. I learned pretty quick to stop obsessing over every word and work on just getting the general gist of the story and looking at things in context.

British literature could be fun!

I really enjoyed my time in France. I'm honestly debating trying to go back there to live/work but I'm not sure yet...

There is a ton of reading in the lit classes, but I like it. I'm the same way, it just takes too long though.

That would be fun to live over there!! I've always wanted to move to Europe haha.

At least you're reading in your native language. That makes it a bit more manageable. XD

Have you visited it? There are things I like about it better and then there are other things that I don't like as much. the hardest part really would be finding a job because the market in France is very competitive.

So everything you read was in French?

I've never been over there, sadly. The farthest east i've been is Missouri. haha. That's bad because I live in Kansas.

Yeah, we read a lot of crazy books. Like ones about existentialism and theater of the absurd and different African cultures or like Vietnamese children raised by French nuns, etc. They were all pretty difficult and books meant for native speakers, not like easy reading. >.<

I don't think I've ever been any more West than Tennessee so I can't really talk. XD
