Tino didn't really mind the silence. Though he would have enjoyed some sort of conversation. Instead he used the time he spent eating to just examine Berwald. The man really was handsome, he thought to himself. He thought about the question that was asked for about a second. "Sure!... If you want some.." He added, not wanting to seem eager.

Lovino glared slightly at Antonio when the other man flicked bread at him. Though there wasn't any heat behind it. "Why would you get in trouble? You don't' work here. Besides, you're a paying customer." He told him. If anybody would get in trouble, it would be him. Though Romulus might look for a reason to throw Antonio out. At that thought, he stood and picked up his mess.

Berwald smiled a bit, feeling refreshed by Tino's enthusiasm. He may have tried to hide it some, but it showed through so bright. "Kay. 'Sec," he muttered before he turned his intense gaze to looking for a waiter so he could ask for a menu to look at the desserts. Finding someone, he raised one hand and continued to stare, not bothering to speak. Unfortunately, the waiter didn't notice and walked past. Berwald dropped his hand.

It felt like Antonio should be the one to get in trouble because he was older, supposedly responsible. He was the one to convince Lovino to sit with him in the first place and not tell him to do his job. Really, Antonio struggled too much with that kind of responsibility, not when he wanted to be selfish. "Well, if you're going to get in trouble, tell him it's my fault anyway." He might as well because better him than Lovino.

Tino watched as Berwald tried to get the waiter's attention but the man kept walking. Well that was rude. Though it probably would have helped if the other had spoken. That would get most people's attention. He waited for another waiter to walk passed. "Excuse me. We'd like to order some dessert." He spoke loud enough for the man to hear. The waiter looked at them for a second and nodded before getting them a dessert menu. He handed it to them and told them to take as much time as they needed to look it over.

"Nah. It's fine. What's he going to do? Fire me?" Lovino asked sarcastically. He knew there was no way that was going to happen. Out of everybody who worked here, him and Feliciano were the two who were guaranteed to never lose their jobs. Romulus wouldn't fired his grandsons. Otherwise he would have fired Lovino by now for being so rude to the customers. So, he wasn't worried. He gathered up the empty plates and took them to the kitchen before getting back to work.

Berwald internally sighed. He sighed like a giant flower wilted, but only a hint of it showed on his face. He did try. Not very many could read the intent in his eyes though. Only those who had known him his entire life and got used to his silent ways. When they finally received the menu, he muttered a quick thanks though the word was more for Tino than the waiter. Despite being little, he obviously knew how to be loud. Berwald stared at the menu for a minute. "Coffee cake...'n gelato are good. You?" he asked, unable to pick anything.

"He could scold you!" Antonio whined. Because that could be way worse than firing. Lovino could find another job because he was so cute, but he couldn't get another relationship with his grandpa. He sighed as he watched the other go, knowing he probably spoke too late, after Lovino walked out of earshot. Antonio settled back into his seat with a sigh. "I wish I understood those two more..." he muttered before finishing off his wine with a rather un-him, despondent air.

Tino looked over the dessert menu, thinking hard about this. All the choices look delicious! Humming quietly to himself, he finally chose something. "I'll have the cannoli." he told the waiter. The man nodded and wrote down their order. "That will be out in just a few minutes." he told them, taking the order to the kitchen.

Lovino dumped the dirty dishes in the sink and though Romulus did ask about why he was so late about returning to work, Lovino said nothing. There was no way he was going to admit he was with Antonio since the older man doesn't appear to know he's here. After brushing the questions away, he left the kitchen and went back over to Antonio. "Are you going to want some dessert?" he asked, just doing his job.

Berwald ended up just ordering the coffee cake and stared off after the waiter for a second before turning to Tino again. Since there was still so much to learn about the other, he knew they should talk more, but he didn't know where to start. Really, all he knew was the other's profession and what little they'd talked about before and now. "What should I say?" He didn't mean to ask that, but the question jumped out anyway.

Antonio had finished his wine and the rest of the food. Looking up, he smiled at Lovino and shook his head. "No. I can't afford it. Don't get paid until next week," he said very seriously. "I'll just have to go home and make some churros for myself. I can send you some if you want."

"Why don't you tell me about your job? It didn't really say much on your profile. I'm curious." Tino told him. He wanted to know as much as he could about Berwald. From the big things like his job and family to little things like what he did in his free time. There is a lot you could tell about a person by the things they like to do, after all.

"I-If you want to." Lovino stuttered slightly, looking down. He was silent for a moment before turning and walking back into the kitchen. He returned a few minutes later and set a plate of tiramisu in front of Antonio. "On the house.." he muttered before walking away to check on the customers. And to avoid looking at the Spaniard.

"Hmm," Berwald hummed. At least he had something to talk about now. "There's not much ta say. Club's Le Boa," he explained, elaborating on the exact place of his job. He didn't think being a bouncer was interesting and most of his days consisted of the same tasks of just keeping order and escorting drunks out, along with making sure gay haters never made it inside. Because of the nature of the club, it did happen from time to time, but they never came back after one look at Berwald's stern face protecting the door. "Yer job must be more interestin."

Antonio started when Lovino brought the dessert. He didn't expect it and it left him who rarely blushed a little red in the face. "T-thank," he stammered to the other's retreating form. Looking down at the dessert, his smile came back to him and he took a bite. As expected, the dish tasted delicious. He'd definitely have to make it up to Lovino. Extra churros for him.

Tino listened intently while Berwald was talking about his job. It sounded pretty interesting. He personally has never been to a club before, but he might go check it out, if only to see Berwald at work. That would be fun. "Sometimes its interesting. But mostly the same. I like to keep the kids to a schedule so I don't run out of things for them to do." He told him, thinking about his students. He loved those kids, he really did. But sometimes they were a handful.

Lovino went around, checking people and taking orders. One of the other waiters told him he took care of one of his tables while he was on break and that their food should be ready. He headed to the kitchen and sure enough the food was there. He put them on a tray and carried it to their table, giving Antonio a small smile as he passed, happy that he was enjoying the dessert he had made for him. He set the plates in front of the men at the table and mumbled a quiet "Enjoy" before walking off again.

Knowing just how kids could be, Berwald nodded his head. But his own kid was a preteen and already nine when he was adopted. Berwald missed the young child stage and he couldn't be sure if that counted as lucky or not. Being gay as he was, he knew he would never have kids of his own. Peter had been his way to help others and his own loneliness. "Kids 'r good at makin a mess," he commented.

Once he'd finished his dessert, Antonio paid. He could see Lovino was busy and someone else had to take his card. It was just as well. Antonio was no good with goodbyes. He watched his boyfriend work for a little bit before writing a note and leaving it with the tip. 'Thanks Lovi, love Toni,' he signed with a heart. Silently, before he could find an excuse to say, he slipped out of the restaurant just as ninja as he'd come.

Tino let out a small laugh. "Yeah. That is very true. You wouldn't believe the mess I have to clean up at the end of the day." But he doesn't blame the children for it. They're only five, after all. Though he does try to get them to pick up at least part of the mess if they play with something. And it works some of the time. Either way, he doesn't really mind.

Lovino was a bit disappointed that by the time he was able to go back to Antonio's table, the man was already gone. He put the tip in his pocket before noticing the note. 'Dumb sappy bastard.' he thought to himself, smiling slightly and putting the note in his pocket as well. He made a mental note to go over to the Spaniard's house whenever he got off as he cleaned up the table.

"Ya must like kids a lot," Berwald observed. He didn't come across people like Tino very often. Most men could do without multiple little brats in their life or only developed the instinct after being with their partner for a while. It really did make Berwald like him, probably more than he could ever say. And this was only the first date. "Had ta take Peter's games away last week 'n make 'm clean his room."

Antonio took the bus home and stood around in his kitchen for a minute, tapping his lip as he thought. Ah right, he was going to make churros. Grinning like made, he set about the task and hoped Lovino would like them. Would he come by? If not, Antonio would just leave them in a basket on the other's doorstep as a very obvious anonymous gift. That would be fun too.

"I really do." Tino told him. Children were, in his eyes, one of life's greatest joys. But, it was also one he felt he would never have. So he settled with teaching other people's children. "Why did you take them away?" he asked, curious. He's had to do that a few times with his students because they were being mean about sharing. So he was wondering what Berwald's reason was.

Lovino looked at the clock. He still had about two hours left in his shift before he could finally leave. He was so tired of being here, having been here most of the day. He wouldn't have even come in so early if it wasn't for the fact that Romulus literally dragged him out of his bed to inform him he needed to come into work. And the only reason the old man had done that was because one of the waitress's who normally worked during the mornings had gone into labor and he couldn't find anybody else on such sort notice. So here he was, staring at the clock, counting down the time.

Berwald shrugged. "He wasn't listenin'. Said he didn't need ta clean his room 'cause he was twelve." That kind of logic only worked at that age and Berwald couldn't remember what it felt like to be so young. Really, that was the end of a long string of defiances that Peter had been up to lately. He only had so much time in a day to deal with them all. At least after a week of no games, Peter started listening again. But he didn't know why he was telling Tino all of this.

"I understand. Sometimes, for children, you have to be mean and take something of theirs to help them learn. It doesn't really matter what age they are. My students are the same way." Tino told him. He took Berwald's explanation as the man being a good father. Because that's what you're supposed to do with your kids. Teach them responsibility. Even if that responsibility is just cleaning up after yourself. Any little bit helps.

Berwald nodded. "Been father long enough to know that." Although Peter was a different sort of bratty at the start. Due to Berwald's intimidating demeanor, he could make any child do what he said for a while, until they learned he was all soft inside. Then he had to remember to be strict again. "Surprised he hasn't started texting me 'bout dinner yet." It wasn't that Berwald didn't leave him food and a note, he just expected Peter to whine about no home cooking and the thought left him smiling slightly.

"You sound like a wonderful father." Tino told him, giving him a smile. He enjoyed hearing Berwald talk about Peter. You can tell by his voice how much he cares for his son. It was a nice thing to hear. He looked down for a moment and was once again surprised that their food was in front of them. He really wasn't aware of his surroundings today! But Berwald was so distracting and interesting, so it was to be expected he supposed.

This time, Berwald managed to thank the waiter for the dessert in a rather natural way. After talking to Tino so much, he felt like saying a word instead of grunt for his responses. Although at that moment, he used it halfway as an excuse not to look at Tino. Once again he felt he would blush if he were the sort of man for it. He couldn't help how choked up he felt when Tino said that to him though. He couldn't help that it killed any response he might have had, so he switched to talking about the food instead. The serving sizes were of course, outrageously large. "Can ya eat all yours?" he asked, eyeing Tino's dessert. He was such a small person after all.

"Of course!" Tino said brightly. There was always room in his stomach for desserts, after all. They were the best part of any meal. He looked down at his plate for a second and then back up at Berwald. "But, you're welcome to have some if you want." he added. Even though he was sure he could eat it all, he probably shouldn't or he might explode from to much food. Besides, it was always a good thing to share. How could he teach that to his students if he wouldn't do it himself?

Berwald smiled a bit. Tino looked so small to him, but if he could eat all of that, then he was impressive. Just for good measure though, he stole a bite. "Wouldn't want ya to need a box," he said in explanation as he licked the bite off his spoon. He hadn't even tried his own yet and turned his attention back to the crumbly topped coffee cake slice the size of his hand. And he had the large calloused hands of someone who used them often.

Tino smiled at him. "That would be a shame." he agreed. He didn't really like taking home leftovers from restaurants. He felt it was an insult to the chef if the person didn't finish all their food at the table. Sure, there were some times where it was unavoidable. Then he'd feel bad for a moment but the remind himself that it meant he wouldn't have to cook for at least one meal and that made it better. He took a bite out of his food." This is delicious!" he exclaimed.

Nodding, Berwald tasted his own. Both were good, but having a deep love for coffee, his own cake made him hum a little in appreciation. Any place he could get it, he enjoyed the taste. Although he didn't look it, he loved sweet thing. "Wanna taste?" he asked, pointing his fork down at his cake. It'd be a shame not to share something this good. Though he supposed if he didn't eat it all, he'd love to bring some back to Peter. He could never just leave food on the table after all, not when he had someone back home probably sulking over pickled herring.

Tino nodded and took a small bite from Berwald's plate. "They're both good. Though that is to be expected. This is a high class restaurant, after all." he stated. So far, all of their food has been amazingly delicious. But what made this night truly special to him was the man in front of him. He'd never met anybody as interesting as Berwald. He liked spending time with him and hoped they would again sometime soon.

Berwald felt glad he picked a good place. He hadn't been sure about the suggestion at first, but it proved to be a perfect date spot. Really, it was a perfect date. He finished his dessert at a slow pace, keeping a little square to take back for Peter, in forgiveness for bailing on him for the night. Who knew where this might go, but he definitely wanted to try this again. "Can I call ya for another date?" he asked when they were just getting ready to go.

Tino happily ate his dessert. Though he did set a part of it aside for Berwald to take home to Peter. He was sure the kid would appreciate it. He beamed at the other at the question. "Of course! You can call me anytime! I had such a wonderful time~" He told him happily. This really had been one of the best dates he had ever been on in his life. And he's been on a few so that's saying something.
