Lukas moved so that he would be sitting between Tino and Mathias. There was no way he was going to leave them alone again. "It's none of your business what they did on their date." he told him, ordering another drink from the bartender, something stronger than beer. He'd need it to deal with this guy.

"I'm sure he does." Tino told him, giving Berwald a reassuring smile. Though he was uncomfortable by Mathias's questions, he could tell that he cared about Berwald. So he'd put up with the other man's behavior.

"Why not?" Mathias asked. "Ber's like, my younger brother!" He puffed out his chest, obviously taking this as a serious thing. "Besides, you don't want me to annoy you. Who am I supposed to talk to if I can't talk to any of you guys?!" It would be impossible for him to shut up after all.

Berwald downed the rest of his beer and ordered another one. As usual, he drank a lot when he went out simply because it was then only way to remain sane. Not that he didn't love the act of drinking as much as Mathias. He just feel into the role of responsible adult too often, or at least until he needed to be drunk just go deal with other drunks. "Feel like it might be a long night..."

"You can try shutting your mouth for once." Lukas responded. He grabbed his new drink the bartender brought him and took a big gulp. "But then again, with your tiny mind, it might be impossible." He didn't know why, but there was something about this guy that rubbed him the wrong way and pushed him to keep responding to him.

"I can tell." Tino agreed. He ordered another drink as well when the bartender was in front of him and Berwald. "Is he always like this?" he asked, the 'he' in question being Mathias. He was curious if this was going out behavior or if he was like this all the time.

Mathias pouted hard, but this time his eyes narrowed. Fine, he wasn't the most observant and calm, smart individual, but he was catching on. Wasn't this kid a little rude? Did Lukas dislike him or something? Not one to mince his words, he asked just that. "Did I do something wrong?"

"Yes," Berwald said with a solemn nod. "Was more endearing when we were kids." Back then, Mathias had been the person to not care who Berwald was, unpopular or not, and just barged into his life with a smile. As much as it irritated him, Berwald found himself grateful.

"The fact that you've been obnoxious since we've met isn't a good enough reason for my to dislike you?" Lukas asked, taking a drink. He knew he was being rude and that Tino was going to be upset with him about it later. He just wanted to relax after a long week before his manager calls him to yell at him for drinking, which he always seems to know when he does something he isn't supposed to be doing. He knew once he got that call he'd have to go home, so he wanted to relax while he could.

"That sounds nice." Tino told him, giving Berwald a smile. He was only half-way tuned into what Mathias and Lukas were talking about next to him, but not to the point of actually hearing what was being said. He was more focused on Berwald. "He seems like a good friend."

Mathias tilted his head then pointed a finger at himself as if to say, 'me?' "Aren't I just being friendly?" He hardly knew any other way to be. This must be some kind of game. Maybe Lukas was the sort who never said what he meant. Yes, Mathias decided that's exactly what this was. "Aw, I bet you like me deep down."

Nodding his head, Berwald glanced over at Mathias, not that the wild-haired blonde noticed. "Is when he's not annoying. Kinda glad he's annoying someone else now." If they were anywhere quieter where Mathias could hear that, he knew he would receive a headlock. A friendly headlock, but a headlock nonetheless.

"I really don't." Lukas responded. "You're the most annoying person I've ever met." He gulped down the rest of his drink and noticed the time. It was starting to get close to eleven, so he was surprised his manager hadn't called him yet like he did every night; normally at an earlier time. As if on cue, his phone rang. With a sigh, he moved away from the group to answer it.

Tino glanced over at the other two before looking back at Berwald. "It looks like Lukas is going to punch him in the face." he responded. He didn't doubt that his cousin would do just that if properly provoked. And it looked like Mathias was working towards just that. Though he hoped they wouldn't get into a fight.

"You totally like me!" Mathias yelled back, his grin shining full blast. He decided not to pause and consider if what Lukas said was lie or truth. That was too much thinking so he would go with lie.

"Math," Berwald warned without looking over at his friend. "Don't get us thrown out." No matter what, he knew whatever went on, it was all that man's fault. Berwald nodded at Tino as if he just took care of anh fight that might arise. Mathias glared at his back.

"I didn't do anything!"

Tino gave Berwald another smile in response. He looked over to where Lukas was standing, arguing over the phone in Norwegian. With a sigh, he turned back to his drink, already knowing what was going to happen.

Lukas angrily hung up the phone. He wasn't sure how, but his manager always knew when he went out for drinks. And that was on the list of things he wasn't allowed to do. He went back over to where the group was sitting and stopped next to Tino.

"I'm going to have to head out. We can catch up sometime tomorrow." he told him. Tino gave him a small nod and a smile in understanding. He didn't bother saying anything to the other two before he pulled some money out for his drinks, paid and left.

Tino was silent for a moment, watching him go. He was a bit torn. He felt he should make sure Lukas got home safe considering the late out, but he wasn't ready to leave Berwald yet. So, he turned his attention to Mathias.

"Can I ask you a favor?" he asked the taller man.

Berwald startled to hear Lukas would leave this soon. He didn't know what the phone call was about, so he feared the reason for his departure might be Mathias. "Was nice ta meet ya," he mumbled, trying to express that he would mind seeing the other again.

Mathias was frowning still at his new 'friend' leaving when Tino spoke to him. "Eh? Of course you can!" He had no idea what Tino wanted and honestly, Berwald didn't either. He looked over at the small Finn with confusion on his face.

"Can you go walk with Lukas to make sure he gets home alright? Its getting late and I don't feel right about letting him walk home alone. I'm worried he might get jumped, which I know is unlikely. But it's already happened once before and I know he says he can take care of himself, but I would feel better if someone went with him. Please? I'll buy you a drink if you do." Tino requested. He knew he was rambling a bit, but he couldn't help it.

Lukas put his hands in his pockets as he walked, not bothered in the slightest by the chilly night air like the people walking past him. While he had been annoyed by Mathias tonight, he was more annoyed by the fact his boss was making him go home like some child. Ah well. He had beer at the house anyway. As he was walking past an alleyway, a pair of hands grabbed him and shoved him against the wall. He started to fight back, but froze when he felt a knife felt against his neck.

"What? Of course!" Mathias exclaimed. "You don't need to buy me a drink for that!" He paused. "But next time, you can if you want." He couldn't pass up a free drink, but he had a mission now and ran out the door after Lukas.

Berwald watched him go with a sigh. "Hope they get home alright..." He knew from experience though that his friend could take care of himself and then some.

Mathias glanced around once he made it out into the cool night air. It cleared his head which had only just begun to cloud with alcohol. He didn't see the smaller blonde at first and that made him worry. "Lukas?" he yelled in his loud voice that carried well down the street. He took off running, hoping he chose the right direction. A flash of motion caught his eye, what he thought was a flash of blonde hair. It disappeared down an alley and Mathias ran over. Something seemed off and it left his fists clenching. He popped his head into the alley and what he saw left his vision going red. A second later, his first connected with someone's face.

"Me too. " Tino agreed. He stated after Mathias for a moment. "I'm sure they'll be alright." So much for getting drinks with friends tonight seeing as how it was only him and Berwald left. There was always next time though.

Lukas was just about to reach for his wallet when the mugger demanded it when someone came out of nowhere and punched the guy in the face. He was surprised to see Mathias and reacted when one of the other muggers tried to attack the Dane in response.

Berwald nodded his head and the two went back to their drinking, able to enjoy the rest of the night without the distraction of the others.

Mathias didn't pause for a heartbeat. He swung one mugger into the wall, leaving the guy sliding to the floor. "Oh, you so picked the wrong person to fuck with!" he snapped. When the knife guy tried to turn on him, Mathias revealed his usual grin, looking crazy in such a context. Once he got started with a fight, he didn't tend to stop until he'd left his opponent in a comatose state and his anger ran its quick but intense course. Kicking again, he made it clear he had no intention of mercy.

Lukas was able to hold his own against one of the guys, but he could tell they were outnumbered. He glanced over at Mathias and noticed the look in his eyes. He was jolted back into attention to the guy in front of him when the guy twisted his arm behind his back and pulled a gun and placed it against his head.

"Freeze or I'm going to blow his brains out." the guy said, loud enough for him to be heard by the group in the alley but not by anybody else, his grip tight on holding Lukas still with his attention on the guy intruding on them.

Mathias did freeze, right in the middle of breaking someone's rib. The man's scream continued to fill the air that otherwise went silent. Eyes scanning the situation, he didn't pause to formulate a plan. He never did when in a state like this. His scan noted the other man's grip on the gun, awkward, like he'd never fired before and learned that from tv. People always thought that having a gun in and of itself made them the most powerful. It didn't. Mathias' freeze only lasted two seconds. With no regard to safety, he dived forward. The mugger turned his gun on Mathias, getting off a shot before he de-clipped the gun and hit the man over the head with it. The bullet had wizzed past, but close enough to rip Mathias' sleeve and leave a bloody scratch behind, not that he noticed. "That is not how you hold a gun!"

Lukas flinched when the gun went off right next to his head. With Mathias distracting the guy, his grip loosened and he was able to yank his arm free. In the next second, he swung his arm around, slamming his elbow into the guy's head and knocking him to the ground. "This seems like an excessive amount of work to rob someone. You guys clearly didn't think this through." He commented, not noticing the guy coming up behind him with a pipe, clearly intending to hit him over the head with it.

Mathias did not react in time. "Behind you-!" He'd been too distracted being angry to notice the last guy who must have been lurking in the shadows for most of this because Mathias could have sworn that he got them all. He ran forward to grab Lukas and pulled him out of the way too late to stop the swing, but enough that the blow would hit him less painful. For a second, he let Lukas fall into his arms before pushing him behind to deal with the attacker. It didn't take much. He went down with one of Mathias' punches, and he punched him again, and again.

Lukas didn't have time to react. In the same instant Mathias grabbed him and pulled him forward, he felt a blow to this back of his head. It hurt, but wasn't still long enough to knock him out; only leave him disoriented for a few moments. He held that back of his head for a moment while he regained his focus. After, he glanced around to make sure there was nobody else before going over to Mathias and grabbing his fist, stopping him from punching the already unconscious guy. "He's down. You can stop now." He informed him. It looked like all the guys were either unconscious or writhing in pain on the ground.

Mathias was breathing heavily and when he felt Lukas' hand, he tried to shrug it off. It was never enough, not until he wasn't angry anymore. "The bastards deserve it!" He snapped. Looking up, he spared Lukas only a glance before he nearly punched the guy again. Before he could, it hit him that this was Lukas talking to him. He looked up at him again, a hint of concern showing through his crazed expression. "Are you alright?"

"I'm alright." Lukas assured him. Sure, his head hurt like help and he probably had a concussion, but he would be fine. It wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been if Mathias hadn't pulled him out of the way. "Are you alright?" He asked, noticing the scratch from the bullet for the first time. While he was grateful Mathias showed up to help, he felt a lot of pain could have been avoided if he hadn't just charged into the situation.

Mathias nodded his head without fault. "Of course I am," he said back. He never realized the way the bullet grazed him, never even a sting of pain. When he looked at the guy he'd been besting on, he forced his fists to relax. He told himself he wouldn't be this person anymore and yet he still snapped so easily. "Come on, we should call the police and get your head looked at." Wiping his hands clean on his dark jeans, he stood and tried to remember if he brought his phone with him.

Lukas nodded in agreement, though he'd rather not deal with the police. It was always a huge hassle and then there would be no way to hide this from Tino and Emil. He noticed Mathias looking for his phone and pulled out his own. He called the police and explained what had happened and they should send an ambulance with the officers. He hung up and turning back to Mathias. "They'll be here shortly." He told him, reaching back to touch the spot on his head again, wincing slightly.

In the time it took for Lukas to call the police, Mathias regained most of his composure. He ran a hand through his hair, ignorant of the blood on the backs of his knuckles which now clotted his blonde locks. "Let me look at your head," he murmured as he moved up behind Lukas. "I know a bit about wounds. Hm, it's not bad. You dizzy? With where it hit, you might not have a concussion, just a nasty bump. Used to see stuff like this all the time."

"I'm a little dizzy." Lukas admitted. "And while I'm sure you know plenty about wounds, I'd like a second opinion." It was, after all, always best to see a doctor about these things. And with luck, they won't inform his brother about his injury and he wouldn't have to worry anybody. Though he was really hoping not to have a concussion.

It took the police a couple minutes to arrive at the scene. They only approached the two of them after they had loaded up the suspects into ambulances to check on them.
