Lukas looked conflicted at that, feeling guilty for lying to him. He'd always been honest with Emil and he expected his brother to do the same. That's the way its always been since their parents deaths. "You're right.. I shouldn't keep secrets from you. It's just... I don't know how you will react.... To either thing.. And I don't want you to look at me any differently." he told him.

A waitress came up to their table and stopped, looking them over. "Can I get you gentlemen anything to drink?" she asked.

"Just water." Lukas responded, not even looking at her.

"Coke for me," Emil said to the waiter, not looking away from Lukas either. He shook his head a bit before he answered. "That's bull. You're my big brother. Nothing's gonna change that." He finally ducked his eyes, turning a little pink. He didn't often say it, but he thought Lukas knew he looked up to him more than anyone else. His brother was just too important to him and Emil couldn't want anything more than to be just like him. "Just tell me."

The waitress nodded and wrote their orders down before walking away. Lukas was touched by Emil's words. "Alright.. I'll tell you. But I'll only tell you the thing with Mathias once we get home. It isn't something I want to talk about in public, alright?" He asked. There was no way he'd be able to say it if other people were around.

Emil nodded his head though he didn't see what the big deal was. He didn't have the imagination to think of anything Lukas wouldn't want to say in public and instead came up with his own theory. "You're not dating him or something are you? Come on, tell me what you're working on then." He could at least get that now couldn't he?

Lukas wrinkled his nose at what Emil said. "No, I'm not dating him. I'd tell you if I was seeing someone." He told him. The waitress brought there drinks over and he told her they needed a few more minutes before she nodded and walked away. "If you really must know what I'm working on, I've been writing a book." He stated.

"You would?" Emil asked. Not that he cared. Not that he wanted to know who Lukas dated because now that he thought about it, that was more information than he cared to have in his brain. He'd end up imagining things his young mind couldn't handle. He took a large gulp of his coke, glad for it and the extra time because he hadn't even looked at the menu yet. He just blinked his eyes at his brother though, a bit baffled. "A book?"

"Of course I would. I wouldn't date anybody you didn't approve of. And I expect you to do the same whenever you decide to start dating." Lukas said, sipping his water. "And yes, a book. I've been working on it close to a year now." He idly began flipping through the menu, mostly keeping his attention on Emil still.

Emil made a face. Dating. He so did not want to do that or share with Lukas when he did, but he nodded his head anyway. "Whatever, bro," he muttered with an eye roll. Deciding to mimic Lukas' actions, he started picking at the menu too, but he didn't get farther than opening it. "A year?! Wait, and you're telling me this now!?" He exclaimed. This wasn't a new secret. He'd been hiding it for like, forever!

Lukas nodded. "Yes I'm only telling you this now. I wanted to have it finished before I went to you about it." he told him. "Like I said before, I want you to be the first person to see it." It was already getting closed to finished by this point, so he didn't mind talking about it with his brother. His opinion about it will determine whether or not he would try to get it published.

"Why did you wait until now?!" Emil asked. He still didn't get it although he glowed a little when Lukas said he wanted to show him first. He wasn't some editor or person who knew books or anything. His opinion shouldn't matter that much. He just felt glad it did. "So...what's the book about?"

"By cause it's almost finished." Lukas told him. "It's about magic. Fairies, trolls, things like that." He wasn't sure how much a book like that would appeal to Emil. But it was something he had always enjoyed and liked writing about. He even had a few magic books in his room. But there was no need to mention that now was there.

Emil raised an eyebrow. "Fairies and trolls? You been smoking weird stuff or something?" he asked. That just sounded weird, not that he hadn't snooped in Lukas' room when he wasn't there before and seen the kinds of books he had. Emil just thought that stuff was a joke. "Still don't know why you had to wait until it was finished to tell me."

"No I haven't been smoking some weird stuff. I don't smoke" Lukas said, annoyed by the accusation. He shrugged at what was said next. "Just wanted to keep it to myself until it was finished. Work permitting, it should be done within a week from now." Might not even that much time. The waitress came back over.

"You ready to order?" she asked.

"Yes.. I'll have the seafood platter." Lukas said, just ordering the first thing he saw when he looked down at the menu.

Emil rolled his eyes again. Lukas didn't have to answer that question seriously. He didn't really think his brother smoked funny things, though it might explain the fairies. Since he hadn't even looked at the menu yet, he just copied Lukas. "I'll have the same thing."

The waitress wrote that down and said she'd be back in a few minutes to check on them. Emil looked back at his brother. "So I can read this book thing?"

"Of course you can really as it. Once it's finished." Lukas told him. He took another sip from his drink. He could hear a couple of girls at a table near them giggling about something. He glanced over at them and noticed they were looking between a magazine in front of them to him. Of course that was it.

"Cool." Emil went back to his usual silence for a minute. He didn't notice as quick as Lukas, but when he did notice the girls, he sent them a little stare as if to say 'don't ruin my alone time with him'. They quieted some, but kept staring, not that Emil cared. He didn't have anything else to say until the waitress brought their food out and he smiled at the plates. "Wow, they look delicious!"

Lukas hummed in agreement, not noticing the look Emil gave the girls. "Lets hope it tastes as good as it looks." He said, pulling his plate closer to himself. He began eating, pleased with the taste. "So. Anything interesting happening at school?" He asked curious since it had been a while since the two of them sat down and talked like this.

Emil started to eat or more like gulp the food down. He really had been hungry and it tasted great. Without looking up, he carefully shrugged one shoulder. "Ah...not much. I think my grades are good." He wouldn't say he knew they were good and he didn't want to mention he got into trouble last week for talking back to a teacher. He couldn't help he was hot-headed. Economics was stupid anyway.

"Just good? And are your sure there is nothing else you need to tell me?" Lukas asked. He ate at a much slower pace than his brother, enjoying the food. He knew about Emil getting in trouble. But he had been waiting to see if he would confess about it first. Since he hadn't yet, he was going to having to come out and say it.

Emil paused. Did Lukas know something? He narrowed his eyes, wondering if he could keep playing innocent and get away with it. He definitely didn't want to confess, but he'd be in worse trouble if Lukas already knew or guessed and he still pretended nothing happened. "No, I'm not having any trouble at all." He settled back in his chair, content with this gamble.

"Rally? Nothing happened?" Lukas asked, sipping his water. "By cause that's not what your teacher told me." He finished his plate and pushed it away, giving Emil a disappointing look. He had really been hoping his brother would just fess up. Now he was going to have to do something to punish him.

A look of horror passed over Emil's face before he dropped it into his hands. Lukas knew. He looked up, trying his best to look apologetic, but not managing it well because he didn't feel sorry at least for what he got in trouble for. Maybe for the trying to hide it. "It's not that bad really! Don't be mad at me!"

"Why don't you explain to me what happened then we'll see whether or not I'll be mad at you." Lukas said. He wasn't really mad. More disappointed that he had lied. Emil had lied to him then expected him to be completely honest with him. He waited to hear the explanation. Depending on what was said determined what his punishment would be.

Emil huffed and crossed his arms before he complied. No matter how much he wanted to, he couldn't ignore Lukas when he demanded an explanation. "The teacher tried to make me talk in class, but I didn't want to," he muttered. "Economics is so lame. He kept calling on only me and I lost my temper." Emil knew he needed to work on that, but when he got angry, he tended to explode.

Lukas was silent for a moment, thinking. "While the teacher shouldn't have been only calling on you, that isn't an excuse to snap at him. You do understand I have to punish you for this. No video games for one week. Any complaints about this and I will make it longer. Is that understood?"
