I guess it's good they are changing their image, American Apparel.

I always kind of liked the sexual look, though. As a young person I used to be hypersexual and I used to feel bad about it because society told me it wasn't okay to be a sexual being. Society says, "Oh, women need to be prim and proper. If they sleep around, they're sluts and they're terrible people you don't want to be around."
It made me feel pretty bad to think that, as I think the hypersexuality stemmed from unresolved issues from the past, so it sucked that people were judging me even though they didn't know me.

I love seeing people comfortable in their own skin and not caring about what society says. I'm pretty sure in another AA ad there was a woman with underarm hair that wasn't edited out and it's just nice to see that for me. Especially since I don't shave and I mean, yeah. Some people are sexual, they shouldn't have to feel bad for being comfortable and totally owning their sexuality.

I do wish that AA had more ads for men, though, it is pretty one sided thus far.

Oh, have you seen the ad for Nike that basically showed that they didn't care about their workers in their sweatshop conditions? So sad. I always hated Nike and most of the popular shoe companies. It's better for your feet to not wear shoes anyway. Your foot loses its arch when you wear shoes that claim to "support the arch". If I wear shoes, I wear flats. (Toms are my favorite, but they're so expensive! ) Anyway, American Apparel makes a point to tell people their products are sweatshop free, hence why their items are so expensive. I believe it, but if proven wrong, I'll definitely stop buying, I'll have to stop buying anyway because well... It's expensive! And I'd rather spend my money on healthy eating, Eco-friendly menstrual items and natural wellness.

I really should make my own clothing more often. I found an awesome sewing pattern for panties as well as sewing patterns for upcycled clothing.

I will miss the doll avi, Amane!

Prim and proper is Amane style.

Everything I love is turned into something gross. You know how awesome garters and corsets and the list goes on are when you don't do that?
/one of my favorite words turned out to mean something DISGUSTING
/and incubi and succubi are super awesome when they're just soul-sucking demons!

There is nothing wrong with loving yourself. You need to love yourself before you can truely hope to love someone else.

The problem is, most people don't love themselves. Because of this they tend to have problems with the people who do.

I think I'm alright. Of course, I'll look back at who I am now later and regret all of it and want it gone.

That's natural, but the point is to learn from who you were and be better for it now

I feel the same way, Amane!
I was a trainwreck in the past and sometimes it sucks to look back on it and say, "Wow... I'm embarrassed that that was actually me."

But whatever. I mean, what can you do? Nothing, except just try to improve who you are now and do your best to not let the past you come back again.

Off topic again,
I did ask around about American Apparel and my other friends also do not like the company. They suggested buying their products second hand, that way I can still get the products without lining the company's pockets.

Another friend of mine also suggested, since I do sew, that I should make my own clothing. (I will, I'm just lazy!) I will sew my own clothing, however, since I found really amazing sewing patterns for skirts made of upcycled ties and crop tops and the like. So much excite!

I CANNOT SEW AND THAT MAKES ME SO MAD. I tried. Time and time again. But I can't! Anything with creating, really. I think I'm going so fast, but I'm still way behind, and the end result isn't even that good. It's so STUPID.

Yeah, well, the Amane way is pushing those thoughts away at all costs and being totally willing to do something wild like hypnosis to make yourself forget so you can finally be that much happier.

I agree with Menelaus!
I don't know about you, Amane, but I take great pleasure in proving the people who told me I'd never make something out of my life, wrong. >:P

It's especially fun to sit back and think about what they'd say about me if they saw me now...

"Hey, you remember that crazy girl, Ava?"
"Yeah?"
"You remember all the dumb shit she did when we went to school together?"
"Yeah, I do! I wonder what happened to her?"
"Well, she's an amazing musician who is incredibly healthy and good looking."
"What!"
"Hell yeah!"
"Wow, I'm jealous. My life is dumb and I have no direction."

... Well, I don't think it would happen quite like that.
