I didn't really want to, but I skipped out on learning a language in high school. I tried twice but it was too much to manage on top of everything else going on. I made up the credits with extra science classes and some community service to graduate. lol

I had an elementary school teacher who offered some preliminary Spanish as a "fun" extra curricular thing during class.
We weren't graded on the work we did...it was more like personal interest.
I learned how to count and say the days of the week and months of the year.
Shortly after completing that grade, I had to move to Colorado and a completely chaotic school system...and I somehow skipped foreign language for the remainder of my school years ( grades 8 thru 10 before I dropped out).
I think I opted to take Choir which kept me out of foreign language and physical Ed.

I'm not sure why I got out of phys ed... I guess it was because I spent part day at one school and part day at another...which didn't even offer gym. So I think it just slipped through the cracks. Or maybe I didn't show up enough they just "forgot"
*I was skipping classes all the time for a while...not proud of that though. I kinda regret it? but at the same time I would show up for tests even without doing the homework and still do well? so... I don't think anyone was going to rock the boat on that one, because I couldn't even cheat. They'd check me before tests and I had a special room to myself because of my ADHD. lol *high fives the person who created IEPs* without distractions in class I was finally able to actually finish a test.
Sorry hyper. I guess my point was, I'm freakin' glad I actually graduated. LOL

Kudos to monstahh for graduating!
I dropped out when I was 16, had some kids, then got my GED when I was in my late 20's.
I didn't need to study or take any pre-GED classes...I just took the tests and scored in the top 20 percentile for the state for that year.
Sadly, I have had no reason to show anyone my certificate and it has been packed away for decades.

Thanks Inzane. :3
I haven't done anything with my degree either. :(
I'm not even sure I still HAVE my diploma anymore. My room basically got ransacked when I left for college for ONE semester

I was surprised that I graduated high school. I took my last three years of high school online and the first two years were sheer hell. :C I ended up getting a highest grade of a C. But the last year of high school, I turned it all around and ended up getting all As.
I was even allowed to walk with my original high school when we got our diplomas. I didn't use it and I didn't end up going to college or anything because my career goals don't require college. c:

I had two graduations because I went to two schools. lol
It was fun, I was actually the speaker for one...Though I cried through most of my speech...not sure anyone understood me to this day...LOL
I am a complete sap IRL.
I almost dropped out myself, but I stuck through it because my "counselor" started bribing me with coffee (which we weren't supposed to have because it was supposed to be for teacher's only, but holy heck it helped...otherwise I'd just sleep through class...)

I couldn't finish college due to finances. I had no trouble keeping up with classes, didn't have any professors that I disliked, no problems with the dorms (for the most part, anyway), had a couple clubs...but the financial aid office was zero help whatsoever. All they help they'd give you is plop you in a computer lab and point you to the FAFSA page, then leave you to figure the rest out on your own. And if FAFSA wasn't enough to cover your tuition, well...have fun figuring out how to navigate grants, scholarships, and student loans, because all we'll do is tell you what you need and not help you actually do them.

I never went to college,
I don't think I would like it very much... and my career goals don't really require college and I just don't see a point in even going if I am already making money doing what I love without it. :s

Sadly the only way I'd be able to get a job doing something I like is getting a degree... *screams obscenities*

One where I can work in a chem lab, pretty much anything dealing with SPAAAAACE X'D, illustration, writing, building things....basically, everything that is not in this area. I live in a town where the primary employers are Walmart and fast food joints =__=

Ohh, I see. :(
That's not fun! I hope that someday you can move to someplace where you can get hired doing what you love. :)
I have to move in order to make a career out of doing what I love...
I want to act in commercials and I've already been in a few, but there isn't a big market for commercials out here, so I am moving with my parents to Los Angeles in order to continue acting in commercials and hopefully get paid better!

Good luck Ava!
Yeah...the only problem I have is I don't have the money to move...in order to get the not-hateable job that would ideally pay me the money to be able to move in the first place.... Classic catch-22 there.

UGH! That sounds stressful. >.< Is there anyway you could sell stuff? Or maybe work from home?

Nope. Pretty much all the work-from-home jobs out there would require me to have Internet...which I don't. Nor can I commute, as Mom's the one with the car and the license.

Aw man. :C
That's too bad. I will keep sending good juju your way and keep hoping that someday you are able to find work doing what you love... whether that means moving or just staying where you are. :D
Commuting is rough and I totally get that feel! I, too, don't have a license or a car, so wherever I go, my mom usually goes too. :/

Right now it seems like the only way I'll be able to make money doing something that I like, or at least something that doesn't make me want to shoot myself in the foot, is to get a book published. And I'm not even through editing the one I'm working on now....
