I'm glad too, it would have made my life difficult as I'm a stay at home mom to a 2 1/2 year old as well. We do, although agreeing on a name isn't coming easy. I want to name her Charlotte (after my grandmother), which I may have convinced my hubby on, but he's not quite convinced. I'm still working on him though. He's suggested a few... we'll see. We still have time. :)

Oh, I'm sure that I can. Awesome!! Good luck, just don't hurt yourself. I've heard bad things about how badly women used to injure themselves using corsets.

Fainting from the tight corsets.

I was more thinking of major rib damage due to tight corsets.

Yes, that as well. And the organs get squeezed in super tight.

Yep, not really healthy. Those poor women. That's one of my hesitations to want to actually wear one.

Beauty is pain, some like to say. I don't do pain. What I say is more like, maybe if I'm careful it won't hurt so bad. And if it does hurt anyway, no matter how conventional, sorry, not worth it!

Yeah, it's more a fantasy that I'd ever want to wear one. I really don't want to injure my organs or my ribs. I like them the way they are. :P

Charlotte is a very pretty name. :)

I would never lace the corset too tight. I mean, I'll tighten it enough to get the look I want, but if it's too uncomfortable, I would loosen it. I'm quite nervous about doing damage to my internal organs, so I'm very cautious of how tightly I lace it.

That, and I faint easily, so I am very careful. I also plan to wear this corset to an outdoor event, which mean it'll be HOT outside (maybe) so I can't lace it too tightly unless I want to be unconscious in fifteen minutes flat. That, and I only wear my corset for special occasions, so hopefully that will minimize the possibility of damage.

I love the name Charlotte - my Grandmother Charlotte went by Lottie - which I love too! Dannnnny!!! Please let us name our daughter Charlotte! :P

That's good. Good to take precautions. :)

Haha, Amane. Your chicken is probably hiding because it doesn't want to get eaten.
I used to b like that.
I had a break down& came back harder, meaner& colder.
Another triumph for the a holes in this world. Pouts...

A 13-inch-waist was once the ideal.

Corsets are pretty, so I'm sure there's some gorgeous fantasy outfit I can make with them.

The smallest my waist ever got was 18-19 in I think and that was without the waist reduction from a corset!
But I was about 30 lbs underweight at the time. I didn't know it or anything, I thought I was healthy! I weighed 105lbs at 5'5"

I feel like society is such a bad influence on girls today, to make them think that smaller is better, when it's really not - depending on their size/body type. :/

People can do what they want, but I for myself would rather be thin.

Oh, momma, how many times do we both have to tell you we don't want children?

My doctors told me I was unhealthy because I was so skinny.
When I was in the hospital, they gave me a bunch of calorie drinks (like Ensure) to make me gain weight and then I gained weight on top of that because my medication caused weight gain. So I blew up really fast and I was way sadder when I was fat than I was when I was underweight.

I'm almost back to my original weight now! I done good!
So I want to celebrate by wearing the clothes I used to wear before I gained so much weight!

I wish my mom wanted me to get pregnant. My mom is like, "Ava, don't have a baby! Don't do it!"

That's good. Your original weight or the unhealthy weight?

You're young, yeah? I had my daughter, well she's 2 1/2 - I had her at in my mid 20's, but honestly - I would say wait till you know that you're ready for kids. I don't regret having my daughter, but it wasn't the best situation. I love her to pieces and she's amazing but life was stressful and a lot of uncertainty back then for sure.

I'm getting closer to my technically "unhealthy" weight, but I think it was healthy for me. Not everyone at 5'5" needs to be 130 lbs.

I'm 20. Honestly, I've wanted to be a mom for a long time, but my mom wants me to have a career first. I had tried to get pregnant in the past, but I never did, (un)fortunately. Being a mom must be awesome!

Yeah, but if your doctors told you that was an unhealthy weight, you probably shouldn't try to go for that. Just saying... It probably isn't healthy for you to be at that lower weight... I just want you to be healthy hon. And I'm pretty sure the doctors know what they're talking about. Being too skinny can be really bad on your body, even if you think that it's a healthy weight for you, it probably isn't.

I would say wait. It is awesome, but at the same time, it's unbelievably hard, and being a single mom - which I was for most of Norah's first year and going through my pregnancy without the support of a partner, isn't something I wish on anyone. I love being a mom, but all I can say, is you'll know when it's time, and to me 20 is too young, but to each their own. ^_^

She doesn't want us to have children right now. She wants us to finish school and get a good job first, and then she expects us to settle down and have, I don't know, twenty-flip-floppity-doo-two children.

Ok good. I would just say "I do not want kids. End of story. And every time you bring it up. I want them even less than I did before." :P Well that is if I didn't want kids, but I do... moot point, but that's what I would say if I didn't want kids.

---------- Post added 06-21-2015 at 10:11 AM ----------

Parents need to learn to stop pressuring their kids into doing what they want instead of letting their kids just do what they want to do as it's their kid's life... not theirs. xD

Little do they know, all their attempts to shape me did was make me a rebel. If they do it, I don't want to.
