There are way better chicken nuggets elsewhere.

But when I was a kid, McDonalds chicken nuggets were really good with their honey sauce. (NOT honey mustard, but actual honey.)

Yeah, well, I'm too picky to try nuggets elsewhere.

I don't get any of those weird sauces. I take ketchup home for when I'm having fries there, but none with nuggets. Sometimes with leftover nuggets.

French fries and chicken nuggets is my favorite food when they're together in the same meal.

My websites used to have a line at the bottom that said Powered by French Fries and Chicken Nuggets!

I love French fries.
I used to love veggie nuggets, which are meatless but taste like regular chicken nuggets.

But all of the artificial chemicals that they added to those things made my face break out and I'd get acne all over my shoulders when I ate it, so I stopped.

And what's the point of being vegetarian if you're eating food that tastes like meat?!

I've eaten Qorn and it's pretty good. It would make good chickeny nuggets.

And I don't think there's anything wrong with things tasting like meat if you're a vegetarian. It's just a taste and texture thing.

I think a lot of it has to do with why a person is a vegetarian. If it's because they hate meat then yeah don't eat anything that tastes like it. But if it's just because you don't want to eat someone who was killed then maybe meat flavors just remind a person of someone who was killed and that could be gross for them.

I mean someone with a face. I call animals someones like I do with people. If they have faces they're someones. I hope that isn't too discriminatory because I know some animals don't have faces.

I'll eat anybody but they have to be dead first. And I know I'm not supposed to kill anyone. I don't do that because it's bad.

I haven't thought about it like that before.
That makes sense.

I didn't like Quorn because of the ingredients it uses, but other than that, it was pretty tasty. Not something I'd eat everyday.

I haven't eaten anything that tasted like meat in a long time...

I like a lot of things that taste like meat but aren't meat. The fake meat they put in some things is good sometimes.

I like fake duck. It comes in a can from China. It almost tastes just like duck.

I'm not a vegetarian. I don't think it's wrong to be one or anything I just think it's kind of speciesist. Even plants have feelings. People who say they eat plants because they think it's cruel to eat animals are kind of saying it's okay to be cruel to someone else as long as they don't have a face. Everyone has to eat somebody sooner or later or they'll die.

But it's okay not to eat some things. There's nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. I know people who don't eat certain foods and they're still my friends.

I don't discriminate based on food choices. Whatever feels right to someone is probably right for them as far as food goes.

It makes me wonder when people say plants don't have feelings.
There have been studies that show that when you say mean things to plants, they die faster than those that hear positive things.

I just prefer eating plants for health reasons, I feel healthier eating no meat.

I am also an animal lover, though, and it does make me very sad when I see animals being a used to be made into food. They don't deserve that. But it makes me sick any time anyone abuses an animal, for whatever reason.

Yeah. I eat them because they're already dead. But the way people treat them is really wrong.

I asked a Buddhist one time if he ate meat and he told me that if somebody gave it to him to eat he would, but that killing is wrong. I asked him if it was wrong to eat the meat if it was already killed and he said it was more wrong to waste food and refuse a gift. That it was hurtful to refuse someone's kindness.

It made sense to me.

Eating meat isn't bad. We've done it since we were cavemen as a way to survive. Just the simple fact that protein that it gives and the other assorted minerals that meat products supply.

Nowadays most animals are bred to be eaten or allowed to be killed in order to keep populations under control like deer. Deer meat is really good though and one of the few meats I have an appreciation for.

Now I can see why people don't want to eat meat but it's overall more harmful than say...a careful balance of meat and vegetables.

If anyone ever tells you guys we're not evolutionarily equipped to eat meat, they're wrong. It's because we got too smart to need to become, like, tigers.

I don't see the point in Quorn. its much more expensive than the meat its substituting and doesn't taste half as good. apart from the "thou shalt not kill" aspect of it, I don't see an up side to the whole deal.

I just don't understand vegetarians/vegans when it comes to strictly veggie diets or veggie diets with meat substitutes.

Like what's the difference? You're trading real meat for artificial produced substitutes of meat? Meat without the meat?

I agree, Cole.

I don't see the point in being vegetarian if you eat meat substitutes.
It's like, vegetarian means mostly vegetable based diet. So why eat things that taste like meat?!

I used to eat meat substitutes, but they are actually way worse for you than eating meat. They have a ton of added chemicals and they are NOT ORGANIC for the most part. It's gross.

I do like certain brands that are organic of meatless meatballs, but they don't taste like meat and that's what I like.

Then tempeh can sometimes taste smokey like meat, but to me, it tastes better than meat.

Yeah, to me, vegetarian means you don't eat meat. So why eat meat substitutes when they are worse for you?

But i'm not advocating for vegetarianism. It's kinda dumb overall because you can't really go on a strict vegetable diet without hurting your overall health. I mean, sure, you can try. It's just you still need other assorted proteins and stuff to go alongside your vegetable eating. Eating veggies alone won't help your health. So, you might feel better but in the end it's really harmful.

A strict vegetable diet would be veganism.
Which, I could never do. I know I should try because diary is really bad for you, but I just can't give up honey, eggs, diary, etc.
I get a lot of my protein through eggs, so I'd probably end up fainting a lot of I went vegan.

I think vegan is a good diet, but not necessary. Strict fruit and veggies can sustain you, but you'd have to take vitamin supplements to get everything your body needs.

I think it's a myth that people think you have to have meat to survive.

You can get protein through beans, eggs, tempeh, tofu, nuts, etc.

Meats tend to give the most available protein possible. The others give alot smaller amount and make it alot harder to hit the proper amount of protein.

It's not good to eat just the other things. Meats account for a majority of the human diet. It's not a myth. We survived in the Stone Age on meats.

I'm just saying you don't need meat to survive.
In fact, meat should only make up a small percent of your diet if you eat it.

Most Americans eat too much meat, thinking that they need to do so for survival.

The Stone Age humans had to hunt and kill their food, so they burned more calories than we do now, nowadays there's no need for so much meat because unless you are exercising 24/7 you won't burn that many calories to make up for all of that meat intake.

Meats beneficial towards muscle development. The fats tend to help you with growth in those areas and allow for a person to convert the fat to muscle.

Nowadays, it's mostly important for protein and muscle development. And muscles are important. And keeping them properly maintained for day to day use. We don't burn it as much by recreational exercise but we do burn calories by labor intensive work.
