I've stayed with the same people all my school life. Until last year when we graduated high school.

I'll still be friends with them though because they happen to be on avatar forums!! So it's easy to keep in touch (one of them is CycloneKira on here.)

Acquaintances will probably happen in college.

Everyone I knew IRL didn't do anything on the Internet except Facebook.

It's sad to say but yeah, I'm not popular on the internet than in real life.
I think it's because I can just block the trouble makers.

For some reason I want to say, "Happy Kwanzaa" to everyone instead of "Happy Holidays"

so then does that mean you follow the principles of Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamaa, Nia, Kuumba, and Imani?

I usually just say "Seasons Greetings" or "Happy Holidays".....that kinda catches everybody without offending anybody.
Christmastime is NOT my favorite time of year...but I will make a valiant stab at enjoying the season....for Hope's sake.
Besides, watching a kid's eyes light up with the sparkle and tinsel always beats out my own disdain for the holiday.

Actually, I kinda like Friday the 13ths....though I don't find them any different from any other day of the year!
I have mishaps and bad luck on most days that aren't the 13ths that fall on Fridays....what superstition do I blame on THOSE days? Lol!

I love Christmas. That feel is so great. Christmas tree up, moon's out, snow outside… Dat be how it works. And the sweet gifts. I'm the kind of chick who'd leave her unconventional Christmas tree up all year and then take it down for several years because she got bored of seeing it and then remember "oh, yeah, Christmas trees" one day and decide to take it out again.

Nope.

But I once did a Kwanzaa celebration thing when I was 15. I sang for the ceremony and I learned all about Kwanzaa... But that was 5 years ago, so I don't remember any of what I learned.

I just want to say, "Happy Kwanzaa" to make people get confused.

In the Hippie thread, we're celebrating Kwanzaa this year!
Even my friends who have no African pride can join in!

Me and Amane will host, as the black bunny party!

The Black Bunny Party, because one of us is too tranquil to be a Black Panther and the other one's not serious enough. Yes, this is our catch phrase. Even these sentences.

What a wonderful idea! I' m looking forward to learning some things I don't know about Kwanzaa!

Christmas just doesn't bring me the joy it once did....when my family was still alive and when my kids were young....
In recent years it has done little more than remind me that I am the last living person in my family and that my kids never seem to have time for me anymore...and grinds the fact that we are forever broke into my face with every commercial on the radio...."make your friends and relatives happy!....buy our stuff!"
I am not a religious sort....
Christmastime had developed into a day when a bunch of people who normally succeeded in avoiding each other were thrown together to eat together and exchange poorly selected obligatory gifts and wear plastic smiles...
Then we went homeless and broke....and our absence from the gathering seemingly went unnoticed...and the years that followed...until Hope came along....
Last year found us invited and thrown together...
THIS year, Hope is just the right age to enjoy all the "magic" that Christmastime has to hold ...and I know that she will thoroughly enjoy helping me decorate....and think of items she will want to wrap in sparkly paper and give to her loved ones, real and pretend!
Sorry I'm a bitter old woman and a " veritable ray of sunshine..NOT!" ....I wouldn't blame Ava if she were to ban me from her thread! ....but I promise to be good! ...no more downer posts! I promise!! ....k?

Ava wouldn't ban you for being sad. She'd give you a hug and send you sage smudge to get rid of the evil spirits making you sad.
