I think somebody's out to outdo you. that one would've made an eleventy twelve point two, but I was tripped up by the fact I didn't know you had black pudding in America (I'm a sucker for interesting facts like that) so his menstrual sausage takes joint ickymeterness with your utery cakes. well done guys, you've ruined breakfast for a two whole generations. next you'll be telling me that placenta on toast is a reasonable recipe for lunchtime

lol, don't worry, your pudding pots are safe. black pudding is a type of sausage made from pig's blood. its actually quite the culinary delicacy in the UK, especially in the north of England and all of Scotland. in the rest of the UK its known for being a key ingredient of a traditional fried breakfast (usually eggs, sausage, bacon, beans, chips, toast, fried slice, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding, and a large mug of milky tea. known far and wide as 'the full monty'). I haven't eaten black pudding since being forced to as a kid, and now I no longer eat human... I mean pork, I doubt I'll ever eat it again. saying that, its supposed to be good for you, full of protein etc

I'm aware of what "puddings to make, black and white" means. Or whatever that line was. Hoo, that was years ago.

yeah but white pudding wouldn't have made sense, as it has no blood in it, only suet and sausage meat. where is that line from?

What was that? An old Irish folk song? Had to read it for English Lit.

makes sense, they love it over there.
interesting fact time: the first time black pudding appeared in literature was in Homer's 800 BC classic saga 'The Odyssey'
Quote:
As when a man besides a great fire has filled a sausage with fat and blood and turns it this way and that and is very eager to get it quickly roasted.
and later on Odysseus gets into a fight for a prize of a stomach stuffed with pig blood and fat. that Homer, definitely a man who liked his black pudding

You'll come out carried by bugs who will hang a sign from your neck that says "PROPERTY OF AUSTRALIA INSECTS."

I bet going to Australia will make me so brave. I won't even be scared of the bugs,
They might become my friends like in the Disney movies.

Yeah, until they make you a placard with your skills and put you on the bug slave market and it gets ancient Rome up in here.

We don't have black pudding in the US or not they I know off.
I learned about it in my travels.
Now, about being enslaved by bugs. Just eat your way out.

I would have awesome stories to tell if I became a slave to Australian bugs. :O
But I'd come back in a year. I don't want to spend my whole life in Australia!

quite a few of my friends spent their gap year in Australia. of course, our queen is still their queen and most of the people there can trace their families in England to a couple of generations. but they have fully autonomous independence (unlike Canada which still has our queen on their money and their citizens hold British citizenship). anyways, they all loved it there and came back with a new outlook on life. 'down under' is a much happier place

Sounds like the perfect place for Ava to do some soul searching!
I want to become one with nature and even though Australia is hot, I think I'll be alright. I'll just wear lots of sunscreen and use a lot of umbrellas.

I've wanted to go to a desert for a long time, just to be around nature and fully explore life and all its mysteries, but I don't live in a desert. I live in Minnesota, snow snow snow. No desert, no ocean. I'm moving to California next year, but even though I could go to Joshua Tree, it's still a crazy place to be and I feel I can't explore there anymore.

Australia is so, so different from America. That is why I will go there. You can't really say America is good or bad unless you've seen other countries. And I know all countries have their good and bad, but I want to experience it for myself. I've lived my whole life in America, never doing much traveling and hey, I'm young, and I'll only be in my twenties once in this life. I want to live it up!

I had a friend on Mobamingle who lived in Australia....Maybe the Pisces remembers Pywacket?
She lived in a shelter she created....washed her clothes and bathed in the creek...
The summer, there, is during our winter....and during the winter it rains and gets all goopy!
She eventually got a little house to live in....then we fell out of communication...
I guess she is on Facebook.
I don't Facebook.

Australia was always a fantasy destination for me when I was young...
The pictures in travel brochures make it look like Paradise!
As I grow older, I have lost the desire to travel abroad...
These days, my own bed looks like Paradise....and travelling is kinda scary...
I'll just stay put!.....but I eagerly await Ava's posts about her adventures in Australia!
....and why on earth are you moving to California? They have too many folks there already! ....I hear Arizona is nice!
Hope has relatives in Minnesota...she got to fly there this past summer!
Her parents said it was hot when they were there.
I have never been further east than Nebraska....I really would like to visit the eastern states someday.
