It's Saturday! Mr x just left to ride with the hippy guy. Last nite he extended car rental. His car needs new head gasket. It's already been a week.

Dreamt I was on date with childhood neighbor. That was out of the pink. We were on bike ride. And I'm not fond of biking anymore.

Cap, I don't know where the other mobions have gone. # where have all the mobions gone # everybody sing

My new obsession is audio books. I'm listening to a thriller now. Maybe I can finally get to sewing bros clothes. I've been so addicted to web. But now the audio books have surpassed that. My eyes dont get tired. It's Easy just to listen. Listening to book about some victim tracking a thief. Called, moving day. Scam movers steal rich guys stuff. Only this guy won't let up. He is a Jewish survivor of war. Hes 72 and tracking the guy. It's so delicious!

Well, I'm off. Enjoy your day!

Speaking of Bakersfield, ca. I liked it. Bit more edgy than I thought. Didnt have web then so I couldn't get pulse of the city. I saw a cop wrestling a yout to the ground in the daytime. I was with mr x. We were driving to San Diego and Bakersfield was first stop. Buck Owens is from there and has some music place there. Mr x went out for some fast food and a panhandler ran up to him. Mr x snarled at him and the guy stood down. We were at a park and he said some youts seemed interested in us and kept moving closer. I'd be more wary today and probably not hang outside. I liked the casualness of the place. It could be too hot though. Today hippy guy cut bike ride short cuz of heat. I saw frisco has some 90s temps. I'm cool tho with vortex on me. Listened to audio book. Getting more exciting. While listening I cleaned a table. I had read Bakersfield had some Basque restaurants. I would like to try their veggies and dessert. And every place must have hiking places.

It's Sunday so it must be wash day. It's 78* and climbing to 94*. # faints, flops. Also there's smoke smell in the air from the Lake County fire. Been inundated with ants today. Played smashing ants with masking tape. 25 the first time. I could hear mr x playing smash the ants, too. The partridge family is on. Now why would they name it that? Theres only 5 of them.

This thriller book I'm listening to pits a thief against a 72 year old Jewish survivor. Strangely enough, the thief realizes he and the survivor are actually quite similar. They are using their wits to outsmart each other. Talk about mind games.

Then I keep seeing articles about north Korea. They made their own time zone. And go by their own calendar. Which starts when their leader was born.

Everyone, enjoy your sunday!

Hey, Dazzy!
I was just in the process of writing a fairly lengthy description of what's been going on in my neck of the woods....when I got a phone call and my lengthy post DISAPPEARED!
I would attempt to rewrite it all...but my thumbs are numb and tingly...not comfortable!
I will make an attempt to try again, later.
I hope you have a most pleasant Monday! & !

Hi izzy! Glad you popped your head in! Darn that you lost your post. That makes you scream or want to throw phone.

It's 86* in here and I'm not a happy camper. Our water heater has been dripping outside. Spout runs outside. I've been trying to ignore it. Put a bucket under and water plants. Mr x finally commented. I so hate house repairs because it's me who has to do it. Arrange for it. Babysit them. Got to yelp plumbers now. I knew I should've had some company lined up. Well I've no time this week. Mr x thinks it's a faulty valve. He'll talk with guys at work for hints.

Hate this heat. Its making me grumpy cat. Where is cool winter? I won't complain, I promise!

There was slight earthquake, but I didn't feel it. It just makes the driveway crack deeper. Im ignoring that, also.

The grass is always pinker. Remember?

Remember wearing heavy socks, leg warmers, heavy leggings? Caps to bed? You slept with hand warmer. The only time youd feel warm was in hot bath. Drinking hot beverages. Putting tumbler of hot tea next to bed so you could take amazing hot sip. Opening freezer was uncomfortable. Using oven delicious. Wearing a sweater. Coat. Scarf! Putting heater on in car.

This is my winter. And I hate it. I yearned for the warmth of summer.

I'm not yearning for summer anymore.

Oh I almost forgot! Wearing minimum of sunscreen. No two baths!

I'm using the library! Yay...and eh. They have audio books! They're free! Well, paid by taxes. I never go to the library. The parkings too tight. And you have to check yourself out? When did that happen? What is all this extra work? Check yourself out, pump your own gas, unload your grocery cart, ferret out tax forms. Where is my check, I'd like to know?

# kicks away soap box

So I wanted 3. Guess what? They're all on hold. Ah, it becomes clear. You get what you pay for. I'm with Amazon unlimited. $10/mo for unlimited ebooks or audio. The thing is, you don't own it. You can keep 10 at a time. Its a minamalists dream come true!

A Donald trumps a bush? This is what I wake to see. I only see political headlines sometimes. Ferreting out truth among politicians is like picking an honest lawyer.

But I just can't believe he will win. You can't have a billionaire as prez! Is he a vet? He's not politically correct. His wife will be first lady? I don't think shed like that. Move out of their mansion and live in white house? Have interminable appointments? He'll be like king Phillip saying ridiculous things.

So I'm just aghast at his climb. Hes good for entertainment fodder.

It dawned on me this morning I should use web to troubleshoot water heater problem. In that heat I simply can't think.

Well right now Monscieur sun is still asleep. Meeting Mr go for lunch at hofbrau. Again I will pass up the dessert. I'm still doing damage control from the haagen daaz.

Have you considered a tankless water heater? From what I know about this technological marvel is that water runs through a box at ambient temperature and exits at your desired temperature. This box is the size of a small gift. Good things come to those who can install small boxes.

After living in two apartments that had water heater issues, I fully embrace the technology of the on demand water heating system.

In apartment "A", the water heater tank had corroded and began to leak on the floor where it sat. What a mess. Where's the dignity?

In apartment "Q", (I dubbed it apartment "Q" because it was in a bad neighborhood and bad things happened there that caused me to break the lease agreement two months early) the water heater was inefficient, took up precious space, and was ugly due it being covered in rust.

Also, there is an element of danger because a faulty water heater can build up pressure and explode sending the unit through the roof, literally.

Well, I hope you sleep well tonight.

Well, well, well. Guess what happened? I met Mr go at the hofbrau and we ran into gf and her dad! Her dad rarely sees me. Hes known me since I was in high school with his daughter. Mr go shook gfs hand. # worlds collide. The dad said I looked, mature. Now what does that mean, my ocd mind wondered. Old? Older than 15? Bigger? Taller? Bustier? I am the same height, but I wear my hair taller. And I'm more than 115#. Le sigh.

Been researching water heaters. Thank you for your 2 cents, mr w. And your element of alarm! I turned down heat on it. Tankless sounds good, but it can be complex installation. They have to retrofit things. Will get an estimate soon.

Amazingly, the library coughed up one of the audio books on hold!

So today was a satisfying day. At hofbrau I had soup/sandwich. Beef barley and pastrami.

Tomorrow they fix my front chipped tooth. # can you say ah

Hi, Dazzy!
Well....I'm gonna make 1 more attempt to write and post something here!
*sigh*
Yesterday was the BF's day off....I made 3 attempts to write ya a word or 2, and 3 times the BF came and got all chatty with me....preventing my brain from focusing on what I was trying to write! ...The third time was the charm that made me just give up!
The BF is working today...but our cat keeps threatening to wake Hope...and once Hope wakes, I can kiss possession of my phone goodbye, cuz Hope will want and demand the Monkeys Jumping on the Bed videos.
So...if I type fast....and barring any incoming calls....I might get something posted! Lol!

We are still experiencing a chilly August...Lucky if we see 80 degrees during the day...it was about 45 degrees last night...and somebody posted on Pinecam that they saw 37 degrees last night...and somebody else said that frozen rain (snow) was hitting their windshield when they were driving!
I am slightly jealous of the heat you complain of! Lol! ...My sleeveless summer shirts are still neatly packed at the bottom of the bottom drawer and I wear a sweater every day! ....have even had to wear my big Columbia winter coat a few times, already!
I guess it was hot and humid in Minnesota, when Hope went...gave Hope a chance to show off her cute sun-dresses!
Hope's trip went well...the airplane trip didn't phase Hope, but she did tell me that her mom was scared! Lol!
Hope got to play with her cousins...older girls...and visit some places her dad grew up haunting...and she got to swim!
Her daddy said she even floated on her floaty, all by herself, for a few times!
The night Hope returned, our power went out!
It went off just as I was going to put chicken in the oven!....and STAYED off!
Hope had already passed out, but Sarah was requiring a meal...so, after waiting 2 hours, I drove to the grocery store for something that wouldn't require cooking...
The whole mountain was dark!...the streetlights were out and all the businesses were dark!
Thankfully, the store's sign was dimly shining....they were open!
The parking lot was kinda creepy...complete darkness!....*visions of hungry animals and muggers came to mind as I opened the car door*
Upon entering the store, I saw that an employee was covering the produce with clear plastic to keep the cool air inside...and I asked if the registers were working...
Yes...the registers were working...so I bought some canned chicken to make sandwiches with, some macaroni salad and some pudding cups, and headed back to our candlelit home.
Sarah ate her food like she was enjoying the power outage....though she kept wanting me to turn the tv on! Lol!
The sky was starting to get light by the time I gave in and went to bed....still no power!
The daytime, when I woke, was chilly and overcast...and we were COLD!
The BF went to work, only to find that they had no power....Closed for the day!
The Dog Guy, who's power came back within a few hours of the outage, called and offered for us to come up...use the facilities and store our frozen food in his freezer...so, we packed up and spent the day at his house.
The news had declared that a power pole, in a remote area, on a mountain, had caught fire and all the lines to our community were down...and that they may have to fly a new pole in...or build a new road to the pole....maybe leaving us without power for 2 or 3 days!!
At the end of the day, we decided to buy a cheap cooler and ice and head home with some milk and snacks...but, as we drove up our little road, we could see that our power had been restored!!....when we got inside, the clock was blinking "0:24"....the power had been on for less than half an hour!
The cooler went into storage and the ice went into the freezer....the heater came on and we went to bed!
The power has remained on...and whilst paying the electric bill, the BF was informed that workers worked diligently to build a road and reroute lines to bring back power to some 4600 customers within 26 hours!
Yay!
....Then, Hope had some intestinal upset and was really going through the diapers for 3 days!...not sure if it was due to travelling or, maybex a touch of food poisoning?....no fever, she was active and happy....just watery poop that made her butt raw!
The 4th day brought her appetite back and her poops became normal and her butt quickly healed.
Sarah has been kinda out of sorts, lately....she whines that noise she makes, even while we are talking to her, now....making for a very overwhelmed Me.....I find that I have to park her in her bedroom and close her door...lest I lose my temper and reach down her throat and pull out her vocal cords!!!
(We all know that I wouldn't DO that!! ....but fantasies keep me semi-sane! Lol!)
Oftentimes, when I have lost my patience and tell Sarah that she has to go to her room, Hope will yell "NO!...you not take Sarah to her room!"
When I ask her if SHE wants to listen to Sarah's noise, she will say "YES! ..Sarah stay HERE!"
...but, eventually, Hope even starts telling Sarah to "shut UP, Sarah!"
We still have no transportation of our own...borrowing Dog Guy's car when we can.
BF is still enjoying his job...even looks forward to going to work!
I guess I should stop for now...kinda feels like I'm tempting Fate by having written so much without having it disappear on me....
I hope you are having a Happy Humpday!
Oh!....I second the vote for tankless water heater! ...I've seen them on This Old House and want one!!....& radiant floor heat! Lol!
Big & !

Lol!
Big & !
Glad your power is back on, Inzanebraned. It sounds to me like hope had a bout with that nasty ole gastroenteritis. Three years ago, I ate some sausage from this grocery store and it gave me flu and diarrhea-like symptoms. My stool was thin and watery yellow just as you described with poor Hope.

I would visit the bathroom and think I was in the clear, but nooooooo.
No no no no no no. I may as well have been chained to the bathroom.

After suffering for a full day, I called my buddy Ed to find out for what ails me. Ed worked in the healthcare field for many years and knows lots of stuff. I described to him my symptoms and he stated that I was indeed experiencing gastroenteritis.

The cure was surprisingly cheap and easy. Ed recommended that I immediately begin consuming a two liter of Pepsi. I immediately asked how the heck a bottle of sody pop was going to help and Ed said that the acidic content in soda pop wreaks havoc upon the bacterium that causes gastroenteritis.

Once I began to chug that soda with reckless abandon....er uh I mean sip carefully on the soda, my symptoms began to ease. I had probably expelled most of my stool anyhow.

And my apologies to the medical community for dispensing knowledge that will effectively treat a minor illness without great expense or inconvenience. Without filling out piles of redundant and time-consuming paperwork that will no doubt become lost in the shuffle. No boring waiting rooms. No boring magazines. No staring at strangers and no strangers staring at you.
Hold on. Am I becoming preachy and a tad self-righteous? As Cap says, maaaaaaaaaybe.

We now return to our regularly scheduled Dazzlingpinkberry clubhouse already in disarray....I mean in progress.

Temperate Thursday. Hung out with mr go at a park. I actually needed to pull on a long sleeve shirt. # it was delightful

Just had Mexican tv dinner.

Em plumbing company and requested appointment. Mr x called car repair shop. Maybe next week. # kerplunk

Then my doc requests follow-up appointment for me. And to talk about lab results. Which werent exemplary, but I'm trying.

Was listening to a crazy fanny flag book. But it wouldn't shut off. Was on my kindle. I had to return the e audio book. It continued to talk! I turned phone off. Finally powered it off.

Baseball's on but I want to listen to a book. Had moriarty on.

Izzy, it was good to hear about your adventures. Good thing you know the mountain road. How eerie to drive in the dark. Glad hopes back in fighting shape!

Guess who has been on vacation in Oregon? Spent quality time with grandpa and my dad, brother and sister in law. I tried to make chicken alfredo one night. The chicken turned out fine, but I boo boo'ed on the noodles because I didn't put them in boiling water, but rather I put them in the water right away and then turned up the heat. Does this make me a bad person? #good cooking gone bad.

Heck...in Oregon, water boils so quick, I can hardly imagine a disaster! Lol!
It takes FOREVER for water to boil at our elevation....not to mention getting fried potatoes to cook all the way through!
Either they go black or they are raw in the middle.
I'd eat "boo boo'd" noodles....simply because it wasn't ME who cooked em!! Lol!

The air, here, is filled with smoke from the fires in the Pacific northwest....apparently the jet flow is dragging it right over the mountains, where it sits, stagnant, until a thunderstorm brews and blows the smoke out.

Dazzy, I hope the doc didn't have bad things to tell ya!
I'm kinda in that boat right now...gotta see a lady-parts doc cuz of an abnormality found during a pelvic ultrasound...and me with no dependable transportation, I have had to delay in making said appointment....so I wait....and wonder....

I wish I could listen to some books on audio...but if I didn't have it plugged directly into my ears I wouldn't be able to hear half of it...and I can't plug it directly into my ears for fear of not hearing Sarah possibly having a seizure or choking on something.

When I was in middle school, we listened to Vincent Price reading Edgar Allen Poe....oh, how I enjoyed Vincent's voice!

I hope everybody has a most pleasant weekend!
