Sunday, back home at the ranch. Well plumber is coming tomorrow. Bro had asked a friend for his experience with tankless. $3500. So its about 3xs as much as regular water heater. We only need hot water for baths and dishes. The washers broken so only cold water comes out and we don't have a dishwasher. I think tankless is overkill. Thank you to all who chimed in with water heater info! # networking...its a beautiful thing

So because I have plumber appointment Monday, I made radical shift and did wash Saturday. # shocking I know. But I'll shop today.

Mr x had to extend car rental for the 3rd week! Isn't that ridiculous? How long does it take to change head gasket?! He visited the patient last Friday and was aghast to see cars inards outarded. While hes deep in the vowels of the car, he'll change water pump and other stuff.

I had a spa appointment other day where she mows my brows. She wanted to change time. I rescheduled. Told her its ok. I'll just put on a brow bra.

Mr x is sleeping on living room cot. Im trying to be quiet as a pink mouse so he won't wake up. He's thisclose I can tell. He was driving me nuts yesterday, talking. He rode with hippy guy and they made their avocado rounds. He talked to one avocado tree owner and charmed her. She was entreating the pair to come by anytime and partake. Shed even put picker and basket nearby.

Other day I dreamed white bursts of light were going off in alley. Turns out it was real. Some white truck came by at night and put box of fireworks in street next door. Lit then ran. Neighbors ran out. Mr x woke up...talking:( a neighbor across street ran out with water bottle and doused it. Mr x had been enjoying the show.

Capt, your senior citizen recount was very inspiring:)

Izzy, hope you can see doc soon. Are you having symptoms? I can't see my doc till all these appointments are done. Yesterday I started wash before biking. I forgot! Too much on my mind. And I'm still blocked out of my banks ol site. Got to remedy soon. Had Mr x listen to audio book. He really liked it. I'll try to find him a book.

Good morning to you, mr w! Glad you're getting some r and r! You know what a pirate desires? Some aarh and aarh:)

Yes...tankless water heaters are lots more expensive than a tank....but they really do pay for themselves in saved water....
I have to wait almost a full minute...sometimes more! ...before the water starts to get warm....and if I were paying for that water that was going down the drain while I wait....I'd be even sadder about the wasted water!
But I totally understand not being able to afford the tankless system....maybe one day they will be required in all homes and houses will be built already equipped....and replacement models will cost less....maaaybe?

I am astounded that it is taking 3 weeks to change a head gasket!!
What kinda car is it?
With a book and Google, Mr.x could have changed said head gasket HIMSELF, by NOW!
I hope the work is quality enough to have waited so long!
Wow!
The BF could do the job in 2 days...in a garage with proper tools!

The smoke in our sky seemed to have thinned this morning....but as the sun gets higher in the sky, it is evident that te smoke is still lingering within the trees and valleys...
NOW we could use some RAIN!....to clean the air!....but, NOPE! ....we already GOT our rain! ...all Spring and Summer!....but when we NEED it, we won't see a drop!
*closes windows to keep smoke out...and, sadly, the warm air, too...*sigh**

I hope the plumber is a nice person and doesn't empty your pocketbook...again, the BF would have googled up how to install the new tank to avoid paying somebody else to do it....
Google can tell ya how to do ANYTHING yourself! The BF used Google and YouTube to show him how to gut a deer we saw get killed on the highway, even!

Oh...and, yeah...I have some symptoms that I have lived with for more than a couple years, now...
The last doc I had told me that "even if we find what's wrong, there's not much we can do about it," so I just put it on the "back burner" till a recent exam gave cause to discuss said symptoms with my new doc...AGAIN!...& she finally got the referrals to other docs started....and, of course, she did a bunch all at the same time...despite me informing her of my lack of transportation!
(County Health Clinic....docs don't listen, they just find more ways to milk the Medicaid!...more tests, more appointments and more pills to take (that will prolly make ya sick enough to need OTHER pills to get better!).
....and so the saga continues... Lol!

I'm gonna try to post a pic taken from the highway department's traffic cam, in our area, to show the smoky air...
I hope you have a marvelous Monday! !

Good morning to you. I'm sorry about the passing of your aunt. To live that long I believe one has to live a very clean life and she obviously did.

And yes, this pirate is enjoying his aarh and aarh. Speaking of living clean, I've been sharing my grandfather's house with my brother and sister-in-law and have been taking the trash out about twice per day. I even went to the dump with gramps. I paid $10 to empty two medium-sized trash barrels. I received a dollar discount when I pointed to gramps saying he was a seasoned citizen. It's a bass-ackward Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout situation.

However, living in a house with regular direct access to water means means never having to fear the occasional bout of scabies that pirates do.
Aaarh! It's me seven year itch! Aaarh!

I watched a Consumer Reports video on YouTube and was surprised to learn of all the drawbacks a tankless water heater has. I learned it wasn't the be all end all water heating system I thought it was. ooopsy?

Tuesday dawns and I think I'll fill my pink water pitcher from the well...erm New water heater! Brand spanking new. 40#s. It was a difficult delivery. There were 2 docs. Freddy and Francisco. Mr x rushed home to watch the show. It was a 2 hour delivery. They had to make 2 runs. One to fetch the young un from the Stork in Pink Stockings Eating Spaghetti With a Spork. Btw, mr x loved the sporks I gave him for bday.

Mr x and I sat on tiny, red plastic stools for 2 hours. When they were draining tank onto lawn and left to pick up Baby Huey, I had to sit, guarding Mr xs bikes from the multitudinous ne'er-do-wells that roam our fair city. Mr x talked a blue streak with Freddy. It was embarassing. Mr x talks so loud and macho talking to guys. I was thinking gee let the poor guy concentrate so he doesn't put it in backwards.

This was company with 5 yelp stars. It cost $1675. Tankless around 5k with all this retrofitting. Theyd have to put in new flue cause tankless runs hotter. Freddy said he didn't have tankless himself. I liked the space saving efficiency of tankless and also itll never burst on you.

So, one down. Please may I return to my express train of life? Next I need to unblock myself from banks ol site. I've been avoiding it because I hate to talk on phone, but my tracfone has shown itself to be efficient beast.

Mr x has 92 Toyota Camry, Izzy. It was his dad's hand me down. I thought time frame was ridiculous, too. Mr x still is using rental car.

Haha, mr w! 7 year itch! I have that video btw. But my vcr and DVD player are on Fritz's back. But that's another disaster.

And izzy. You and Mr w have similar smoke pics. Dratted fire season!

I, too, want to extend my condolences on the passing of your aunt.
She got to see 100...her goals were accomplished...and she is at rest, now.
May she rest in peace.

On the other hand, I want to congratulate you on the new installation to your home!
May you enjoy many showers and cleaner dishes together! Lol!

I haven't asked the BF about his opinion on the head gasket issue....I'm pretty sure that he, too, will be flabbergasted!
Is the shop so popular that they are back-logged?...or are they understaffed?
I wonder if there isn't some recourse Mr.x can take to recoup some of the extended cost of renting a car for THREE WEEKS!

Turtles's car just came back from the shop...
The dealership had promised the valve cover gaskets and timing belt would be replaced before they took possession of the new, used Lexus something or other....
When some other problems cropped up, they took the car to a trusted mechanic that Hope's other grandma knows...and they found that none of the promised work had been done! ...the car still had the original timing belt and, though they removed the valve covers, they did not replace the gaskets ..just put the valve covers back the way they came off.
(Turtles saw the car with the valve covers removed, so she assumed the work had been done right.....WRONG!)

This is another example of why the BF would rather do the work himself...cuz he knows what he has and hasn't done...avoiding liars and poor workmanship.
What is Mr.x paying this place to do this job? ...is it a chain-like business, or just a little hole in the wall kinda place?

Today is the BF's day off...and, of course the Dog Guy needs to run errands and requires the use of his car...
So, the BF took a sh*t-ton of laundry to the Dog Guy's house, to do while Dog Guy is off, doing his errands....
I am excited to have clean towels!! Lol!
I'm not sure why, but a hand washed bath towel just doesn't "feel" clean to me...
Oh...the little things in life that make a day better!! ...Clean Towels!! Lol!
Oh...before I leave, I wanted to say that that last post was extremely entertaining and well written! ...made me laugh!

I hope ya have a most terrific Tuesday! !

Wow! The two of you have been dealing with real scheister mechanics. This reminds of a shop I went to a long time ago. When the work was done on my pick 'em up truck I examined the bill to learn what I had just been charged and I noticed a small discrepancy; there was a charge for work performed on the air conditioning system. Guess what? That old Ford didn't even have a/c and I certainly didn't ask that work be performed on a component that my truck didn't have. I pointed this out to the crooked mechanic and the charge was removed.

But the fun didn't stop there. No. I had a Maglite flashlight laying on the seat that had an LED upgrade bulb in it. When I looked my flashlight again I noticed that the LED bulb had been removed and replaced with an incandescent bulb. This infuriated me, but I knew that I couldn't prove the LED bulb had been stolen so I said nothing about the matter and have never returned to that shop of thieves again.

Since then I have found a reputable shop where I take my truck to.

Hey, where can I get a big red nose for my avi?
From an event item called Reindeer Disguise. Your best bet would be to check the threads in the Menewsha commercial district. You can "try on" this outfit by going to the marketplace then search for items, then type in Red Nose. The item then should display and then you can try it on for size.

If you find a seller, ask if three are available because I want one and I'll bet Dazz would like one also. If you need a loan just ask.

And my avatar is enjoying some bubble gum and does not have a red nose just in case you were wondering.

Hey, Dazzy!
I hope you are having a fine Friday!
Our air, in the mountains, has finally cleared...no more smoke from the northwest clinging to the tree tops...
(Mr.Wrong made me a personal promise to "speak to his people" about the smoky jet flow....and he musta kept that promise....cuz I can see blue sky! Lol!)
When I told the BF that it is taking 3 weeks to replace head gaskets, he said "WHAAAT??!"
...then he went into his rant about how shops take advantage of the average consumer because the average Joe doesn't know they are being taken advantage of, and rarely take action against unscrupulous mechanics because they REALLY NEED THEIR CAR!
I hope they don't charge an arm, leg and a left ear for the work that has taken far too long to get done!

I had a run in, decades ago, with one such unscrupulous auto shop...
The engine in my beloved station wagon had blown up...so we called this shop...they agreed to come and tow our car to the shop...
They opted to rebuild the engine...
It took about 3 weeks...it cost over $3000...and the problems began...
First, I found that all the work they did had compromised the front transmission seal, so the car leaked transmission oil...
Then, the car wouldn't run right....we found that they had a bunch of vacuum lines put together wrong...
THEN, after waiting in their waiting room to get the car back to go on a planned fishing trip,....we didn't even get close to our destination before it was evident that the head gasket had blown and we had to return the car to the shop!
2 months down the line, the car still not running right, then the starter failed...
I could push-start the car...popping the clutch...so, I took the car back to the shop, AGAIN...
When I explained to the guy that the car wouldn't start, he asked about a safety switch under the clutch pedal....
I told him that my car was too old to be equip with a starter/safety switch....and his reply was, "Well...you're a woman, you wouldn't know for sure!"
OMG!
I got so mad, I couldn't SPEAK!
After that, I made my husband (at the time) do all the talking to the guy...
We finally did get the car fixed....but it never ran quite right...till I met the BF....HE fixed it right!
The shop that rebuilt the engine had marked up all the parts they used....charged me $9 per spark plug!!
(I was young and didn't know any better...till it was too late and the bill was paid!)
About a year later, the shop had gone out of business....
One time, while waiting in this shop's waiting room, I overheard 1 mechanic ask about a dip stick for a car....and the boss told him to take the one out of another car and they would get a new one for the other car later!
I thought it was terribly unprofessional to allow customers to overhear their less-than-professional discussions of swapping parts between cars!
....and that was some 20 years ago!!

I am sooo happy that the BF knows about cars and can do most auto repairs...or, at least, can speak with a shop and know whether they are doing things right or not!

This weekend is the big motorcycle parade...Emily's parade....to remember the girl that was shot in the high school years ago...
(Google Emily's Parade/I love you guys/Conifer,Colorado for more info...)
Since Hope's parents won't be coming to take her this weekend, I may walk Hope down to the highway to wave at the riders.....providing it doesn't rain!

Capt...I am heartbroken for you about the house deal! ...maybe the seller will have another change of heart....or something even better will come along...
At least ya like the place you are renting! ....could there be an option to buy the place you are currently living in?

I guess I better get up, off my fanny, and get the dishes washed before Hope wakes up and wants to help! Lol!
(The kid helps me with everything....& she even pretends to wash her own dishes after eating pretend food!)
We might even get outside....if it doesn't rain later!

I hope everybody has a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend! !

The CI I used that had the bubble gum bubble is called Kick Ass Action Hero and it cost me 7,000 gold and took me months to locate a seller. Yikes! It seems that these unscrupulous mechanics have daughters that peddle their wares on Menewsha's commercial district. Buyer beware!

Well.....I THOUGHT that the motorcycle parade was going to be this weekend...but I was mistaken!
When I saw the flyer for the event, I read "...the last Sunday in..." and assumed it was August, but it is the last Sunday in SEPTEMBER!
So...we will have to find something else to do this weekend...
Not much to do without a car!

We saw an unusual occurrence, yesterday...
A large flock of Magpie birds had gathered in a large pine tree in our back yard...
Noisy birds!
Then, they all migrated to a big tree in front of the house...
Then, as a group, they all migrated to through ground....then they all moved to a neighboring parking lot....
Then, they all took flight and flew off together!
...I have seen crows and blackbirds do this, bit I have never seen magpies in a large flock like that!
It was really neat...and Hope got to see it!
W
Oh, hey! ...the Dog Guy gave Hope a new iPad...for us to download learning games on!
He decided that he was never gonna use it and thought that Hope would get much more use out of it!
That's a pretty generous gift!
Now I gotta figure out how to operate the new fangled gadget! Lol!

Well...my phone is being dumb today....prolly gotta reboot the darn thing....
I hope everybody is having a nice weekend! !

Good evening, folks! I'm glad you're coming here to converse! It's been a long week in my fair town. On Friday Mr x returned rental car. $600. Today we went to pick up his car. A 20 min trip took over an hour. There are 3 roadways. The middle 35 mph that I traverse. And 2 exterior highways. All gridlocked because last night a tractor trailer hit transmitter that downed power lines. They shut down one highway. So we inched along. Mr x had birthed a small cow by the time we arrived. Proclamations such as we've got to move out of this area, escaped his tightly pursed lips. I sympathized and crunched hard candy and played with fiddle toys. Had water. We saw one fender bender. Amazingly everyone was well behaved and there were no boisterous honking. It was impromptu for me to go. Mr x had planned to bike. I had to run out with no makeup or spf. Just fuchsia lipstick. When we arrived, I said hi to repair guy. Then, where's your bathroom. I had begun singing soprano the last few interminable miles. So Mr x finally reclaims car. $2136. Estimate had been 1k. Then trip back. Now because of my eyes I never drive freeways. But I had to. Followed Mr x. The freeway was one I used to traverse many moons ago when I drove to frisco. Its just hairy for me merging. Dang they drive fast. My car, a Fit, could barely do 55 mph. Not a good highway car.

Then we got home. I ate a little then went back to start new audio book, the dead key. About a bank larceny. Finished, casino royale. I rate it C-. Driving on El Camino Real, the 35 mph street, I spotted an apartment complex entitled, el Camino royale. I pointed this amusement out to Mr x, but he was busy birthing, and gave me short shrift.

My next epistle ill answer above questions.

I bid you all a good evening!

Today's Sunday, and the livins easy. Kind of. Got up and Mr x said he gassed my car. But he had forgotten His car was in driveway. The bumpers kissed and 3 spots of black paint are now on my car. An automotive hickey. Said he tried to get it out. Said we could take it in. Eh. I used our frame of reference. Its a working car.

Today have to work on desky. I did get back ol on my bank site. My account had been locked. # louts. I had to call in person. # shivers violently. And it's wash day. # goody. Mr x is lying on his cot in living room with easy listening music on. His nerves are shot. He plans to stay in and recover from his breakdown.

Good morning izzy! The repair shop is legitimate. Run by 2 brothers. They have 5 star rating, but only 5 reviews. No, we're stuck with the car rental bill. I think bigger shops sometimes provide free rental.

Turtles experience was outrageous. Dealerships are tricky. Mr x won't go to them anymore. The place I bought my car only has 3.5 yelp stars. They did have this Wonderful cafe machine!

Mr w. What a bad experience with your mechanic. And they played a shell game with your flashlight. # creeps

Dang cap, your house buy fell through. Im so sorry!

Izzabelle, that was some prize shop you went to. Scheister, and male chauvinist pig to boot. No wonder his business failed. And thank goodness we live in a yelp era now! Mr x did know cars at one time. He bought a used car once. He and his bro showed up with testing equipment. Guy asked if they were pros. They weren't, but knew their stuff. My dad worked on cars. I admire amateur mechanics. It is not my forte. But I can do desky.

Hope got an iPad! Way to go! Much bigger surface to play on.

Off I go! Happy sunday!

I have given birth to so many cows while fighting L.A. traffic I should have the largest dairy farm in California.

Happy Tuesday!
Today is Sarah's 33rd birthday....
We don't have anything special planned....still got no car to go shopping for a gift...
Maybe Dog Guy will let us use the car to give Sarah a ride....her most favorite thing to do is go for rides.
I'll prolly find something at the local grocery store, to wrap in festive paper....and have a cake with candles...
....for whatever reason, Sarah always laughs when she sees cake with fire on top! Lol!

Sarah had a seizure Sunday night....I knew it was coming, cuz she had a really good day that day...
So, maybe she wont have any seizure activity for her birthday....like she usually does.
Nearly every birthday, Sarah has had seizure activity.....so a birthday without a seizure would be a gift in itself!

I'm glad Mr.x got his car back!
The BF is shocked by the cost and the amount of time it took!

This would normally be the BF's day off, but one of his coworkers is also celebrating his birthday today....his 21st!...and the BF opted to work for him so he could have the day off.
The guy's mom is gonna take him to the little gambling town to celebrate his birthday in style.
(Cool by me!....that's gonna chalk up an extra day of overtime on the paycheck!) Lol!

I hope everybody has a nice first day of September!
.....September....
.....thoughts of falling leaves and Autumn colors are brought to mind when thinking about September.
Oh, Summer!....please don't rush off!
....but, before we know it, the snow will be flying....

So, anyway! ....have a great day!
(I need to drink more coffee before trying to write....I kinda got "scrambled thought" syndrome!) Lol! !
