First of all, the shorts thing...
The guy that the BF used to plow snow for before he started doing it for himself always wears shorts..and he is a parking lot and residential snow plow truck driver.
He also does landscape maintenance during the snow-less parts of the year,...but when he plows snow he usually has to get out and put down icemelt...and he does it while wearing shorts!
When I rode with the BF while he was working for that guy, I wore insulated bibs and a Columbia jacket...and I rarely left the truck!
I have always commented on how his knees must have no feeling in them after being exposed to subfreezing temperatures on a regular basis! Lol!
He always says he has a snowsuit or some-such in the truck...but he gets too warm wearing them while he is driving, and it just takes too long to put it on every time he gets out of the truck.
So...your post instantly reminded me of him.
Then..I got curious and looked up Gordy's Truck Stop on Google Maps...
How interesting that, out of 9 photos shown, 1 is of a view with a window showing snow outside! ...though there is a small border of snow sitting along the bottom of the window, the photo shows that the snow is all on the outside of the window.
The reviews are all good...from the service to the food to the ample parking...No mention of indoor snow drifts or indoor temperatures cold enough to chill your food before it arrives from the kitchen...
Maybe they should offer hand warmers and lap blankets if they don't intend on fixing the pneumonia-holes and heat the place up!
I wonder what the Board of Health would say about that snow blowing in...
Oddly enough, the BF and I had agreed to take Sarah into an IHOP during a cold snap while we were living in the motorhome...and after we had gotten her into her chair on a frosty night, we came to find out that the restaurant's heat had gone out hours before our arrival and that they hadn't been told to shut the place down.
We suffered through our meal with our coats on and hurried back to the car for the warm ride back to the motorhome.
After that, we would just order our food to go and drive back "home" to eat.

So.....the bad luck still follows us...
The BF has had a truck down since the last snow storm...the '01 F250 is still leaking oil and last night he broke a spring on the plow of the remaining truck...and while attempting to repair said plow, his wallet, complete with cashed paycheck went missing into the snow...somewhere...
He says he stopped and got out numerous times before realizing his wallet was missing.
*sigh*
I feel so bad for him!
I had him come and eat a meal and take money back to pay the storage...and to pay for parts and gas and food until I can get him more cash...he doesn't get paid again for 2 weeks.
This is DEFINITELY not helping me save any money!!
...But,...Shit Happens...
There just isn't a way to fix this and make it all better...
We can only hope that the snow will melt and he will see it on the road before someone else does...
Yeah!! Right!

So...the saga continues...
Stay tuned for more as more comes along!

I hope everybody has a good weekend! !
Pneumonia holes....I like that. That was good for a chuckle. My legs don't really register cold until it's in the teens or the wind is blowing. That night at Gordy's was a double whammy with temps in the single digits coupled with wind chill. I was definitely NOT enjoying a cold one.

Anyway, I hope your bf didn't lose much cash.

---------- Post added 01-07-2017 at 04:02 PM ----------

I forgot to ask if your bf has considered wearing a chain wallet. This has spared me from much aggravation.

My grandfather used to refer to open doors as "pneumonia hole."
"Close that pneumonia hole...were ya born in a barn?" he would say, when someone would leave the door open.

The BF usually doesn't keep his wallet in his pocket...he would usually keep it in a cubby hole in the dash of the car or under the seat...but this time the wallet was on the seat and it must have followed him out of the truck one of the numerous times he got out, in the dark, to attempt to repair a broken plow spring.
He said he almost ran out of fuel while driving back and forth over that area, hoping to see the wallet laying in the snow.
A chain wallet would offer some security against loss...but I suspect the chain would wind up getting hung up on something just 1 time and he would stop using it and be back to placing the wallet in the seat again.
Maybe I should suggest that he use a chain wallet and chain it to a secure spot inside the truck to avoid having the wallet escape...much like a rambunctious dog that can't wait to get out of the car! Lol!

I guess we are in for some warmer weather for a few days...That will be welcomed! ...I have been wearing insulated bibs, my coat and a blanket to go outside to smoke and I still wind up shivering before I'm done with a cigarette...but the sun is shining today and I could nearly go coatless providing I stay out of the shade.

The 285 corridor made the headlines today...
Apparently, a semi truck ran off the road, through a fence and rolled on it's side near the town of Shawnee...on Wednesday...
Recovering the truck was delayed due to weather and such...until Saturday, while drivers complained about sitting at a standstill for 2 hours while they recovered the truck, asking why they chose to wait until so many folks were returning from mountain activities.
In my opinion, Saturday was a good choice as it didn't interfere with weekday commuters getting to and from work...but maybe that logic was lost on the folks just out for recreational outings, I guess!

I hope everybody is having a pleasant Sunday! !

One might think that a new phone would help me access more sites than my old phone allowed.
.which it does...but the screen seems smaller than I remember and the tiny items are even more tiny!
I use a tablet most of the time that I access sites and just use my phone for phone calls and texts.
My phone is a Cassio Commando...it is waterproof and nearly indestructible...features that matter more to me than having a large screen.
The BF went through 5 phones in the 5 years I kept my old phone. He tends to break the screen by dropping his phone a lot. My phone is supposed to take being thrown against a wall...though I have never tried it! Lol!

There is active staff here that wouldn't put up with childish shenanigans if they attempted to set up house here...
Mobion's downfall was directly related to lack of staff to enforce rules...so the "children" ran amok.
I found it rather sad how grown folks had nothing better to do than make others miserable.
I imagine they might be hangin' at MocoSpace...the "ghetto" of all social sites.

One of those silly hackers did attempt to make a splash here almost two years, but one of the admins just toyed with him until he finally realized he couldn't play the childish games here that he wanted to.

One site that will not go away Gaia online That site has its fair share of members who like to be childish or think they are something. There are good decent members to who were on mobion like Sugarrush29.A good number of former mobion members on Gaia online left mobion because of the problems on mobion .I like to see new sites that are like mobamingle or a cross between mobamingle and Gaia online with a gold allowance.

---------- Post added 01-09-2017 at 01:17 AM ----------

There are good opportunities for new virtual sites that can be well policed. And still respects members privacy.

Hello and Welcome!

It has certainly been windy in Colorado today!
I saw pictures of semi trucks and a charter bus that were resting on their sides after being blown over by 100 mph winds near Colorado Springs.
They closed the highway to semis from Monument to New Mexico for a period of time and were directing high profile vehicles to a fairgrounds for safe harbor.
The highway has opened back up since the wind has died down in that area...but, now, Denver is getting the wind!
I don't think we will see extreme winds like they did south of us, but the broken fence around the back yard is squeaking and I had to tape the mail slot closed...and it just did start getting windy.
It may get worse before it gets better.
At least we don't have to worry about a tree falling on the house...the owner had the tree removed from the property before Turtles moved in...
I guess I could be concerned about flying fence panels...but I won't lose sleep about it.

Up the I-70 corridor, semi trucks rolled over...not because of wind...because of ice!
They closed I-70 near Vail because of numerous slide-offs.
In Denver, the snow was melting in the sunshine and warm breeze!

Not much has been going on worth posting..
The same old situations and complaints...
Sarah seems unhappy every day...
I'm only happy because I get to be with Hope every day...but the rest of this arrangement is constantly stressful and I feel like I'm aging at twice the normal rate...and more nights than not I go to sleep angry at someone...and it isn't always Sarah.
I want so badly for things to be different...but different will mean living away from Hope...
I am just destined to not be happy...Oh Well...Unhappiness hasn't killed me yet!
Some might say that unhappiness is my life-blood and I thrive on it.
It actually sucks...a lot!

Well...I was left with wide-awake-Hope, who refuses to lay down and try to sleep...so I must turn my undivided attention toward her so she will be still.
I hope everybody is having a pleasant week! !

That is precisely correct! ....sad, sad folks hiding behind a screen-name...

It has been a weird winter in Colorado this year...
All the mountain passes that they watch for avalanches during winter have been closed...or are still closed...due to avalanche danger....yet Denver has been so warm that the snow has all melted and I didn't need a coat on during the day!
We already have 150% of our yearly snowpack and we have 3 more months of potentially snowy weather! ....there won't be water rationing this summer...Yay!

I, too, woke feeling like crap...not with a headache, but an undeniable urge to cry until I am empty of tears...
It sucks when I don't even get awake before the depressing thoughts are filling my head!
Since Hope and Sarah were still asleep, I allowed myself to let loose a few tears before getting up and making myself take a shower and making myself busy...
Once Hope gets up I rarely have any spare time to wallow in my self-pity...She always wants me to "Let's PWAY! You wanna pway with me, Gramma?"
I usually play with her when she asks...for she doesn't have other children around to play with...and her parents are usually busy, or tired, or don't feel good....and I rarely have anything going on that is more important than Hope.
She likes to play Hide and Seek...and Doctor...and Vet Doctor...and Barbies...and Peppa Pig...and Polly Pockets....All within about an hour's time! Lol!
Today, she astounded me and her mom by announcing that she had "mended" her broken Polly Pocket mermaid!
She actually used the word "mended!"
Then she proceeded to tell Sarah that "mending means to fix things!"
She is just so smart for being 4 years old!
She is my bright sunshine on a rainy day...and I am so thankful to still be part of her everyday life.
It is the thought of needing a house of my own...and not being with her every day...that weighs heavy on my heart...
But stuff will happen the way it's supposed to...eventually...whether it makes me sad or not...
But, right now, Hope wants me to PWAY!

I hope your head is feeling better, Kirin! Headaches suck! ... I'm supposed to avoid Tylenol and other over-the-counter pain relievers and just tuff it out!

I hope everybody has a Happy Humpday! !

It's a Dazz! How the heck are ya, you dazzling little dream berry, you.

I was watching Worst Cooks in America on tv at a tank wash yesterday and saw an ad for a food and recipe service called Blue Apron. I know. I know. It's not Pink Apron, but hear me out. Or read my text out. Or something. Anyways, Blue Apron offers recipes and food available to order online. I may place an order one day to see what they're like. And worst cooks were tasked with cooking eggs in all its various forms. So many ways to cook eggs. I tried Scottish eggs for the first time recently as an appetizer. Surprisingly good.

How are things in Pinkland?
