I seem to recall that stay-at-home tv sitcom aliens do have a penchant for puddy cats. This is true for Alf and the alien, Roger, from American Dad. Mere coincidence or conspiracy theory? You decide.

hummyMom and hummydad when on a cruise in Europe and they went to Paris and Normandy and a bunch of other places. I went to Paris when I was deployed to Germany and I did not love Paris yes. But they had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed it which really made me happy. I sent her a Pandora charm of the Eiffel Tower and I'm actually sending her a little coin purse with Paris Cafe and and Eiffel Tower on it as well. What did you do and did you have a good time?

Ah, Paris. My experience in Paris was most untypical compared to other American tourists. But overall, of course I had a good time.

I was less than impressed. The funny thing is when we were in Germany my roommate ordered escargot when we went to Paris she ordered spaghetti. I told her this is where you should order escargot they're famous for it here. She was like no it was too rubbery I didn't really like it. I'm like what you ate it and Germany I'm sure they had a good Chef do it but still the French more or less perfect it. I like the wine and the bread and the Louvre

It was the rising star French artillery captain Napoleon Bonaparte who drove the English out of Toulón's harbor.
Yep, both sides had a blast.

I only encountered one Frenchie whom I thought was rude or impolite. Of course I wasn't in Paris very long, but it was a woman working as a motel clerk on some back street. I got the feeling she didn't want to speak English or even get off of her butt to approach me.

But I did find this small café that served the best lasagna I'll probably ever eat as long as I live.

In subsequent years, I searched in vain for lasagna of equal caliber. Unfortunately, I was limited to where I could search. Namely Tucson, Arizona. Soon after returning from Europe I checked out a local Italian ristorante, but their lasagna was no where near as good.

It wasn't until several years later that another decent Italian restaurant would open its doors in downtown. I forget the name of the place, but their lasagna was almost as good as the lasagna I ordered in Paris. I was stoked. At that time, I was fairly active with the local Republican party, and a group of us would attend local functions together. After a long day of cutting taxes for the wealthy, reducing funding for school lunches, and feeding dog food to the elderly, we decided to hit my new eatery of choice only to discover it had recently closed down. We were bummed out. I guess Tucsonan's have something against patronizing quality Italian dining establishments. I've come to the realization that Tucson is the largest dead town in America.

And search the world over I did. I even visited Johnny Cascone's in Overland Park in Kansas during a breakdown.
What a crazy breakdown that was. I was team driving for CRST at the time in 2012. I pulled into the Love's in Ottawa, Kansas to have a tire fixed. While maneuvering to park near the tire shop the trailer slipped off the 5th wheel and dropped onto the pavement.

This is not supposed to happen at any time and is a serious issue. If a trailer dropped while on the interstate, it could kill people. After much effort in sweltering heat, I, and a couple other guys, managed to jack the trailer up high enough to get back under it with my tractor. While the tire was being fixed I informed our breakdown department about what happened.

My co-driver and I were instructed to wait at Love's for another Crusty (CRST) team to arrive to take our loaded trailer, and leave us their empty. After the trailer swap we left the empty trailer and drove bobtail to the Volvo truck dealership in Overland Park. The next morning we checked our tractor in the shop and a mechanic began working on the 5th wheel. We ended up staying at a motel. We rode to the motel in a taxi that swung by Cascone's. So come dinner time I took another taxi to Cascone's and of course I ordered the lasagna. Well, the bread was top notch, but the lasagna was average.

The next morning our tractor 5th wheel was repaired and we were set to roll. We bobtailed back to the Ottawa Love's to pick up the empty trailer. We ended up picking up a load at the Conway in Kansas City and taking it to California. The trip to Santa Fe Springs was uneventful until it was time to hook to a different trailer. It was my co-driver's shift when this occurred. He informed me that he was unable to hook to another trailer due to the 5th wheel not working correctly. He informed dispatch of our newest woe and we drove bobtail back to the terminal in Fontana. The 5th wheel was fixed correctly this time by the pro's at 8 Point. I think we got into a different tractor while the 5th wheel was being fixed. After that episode I was quite wary of Volvo's and I thank God that our trailer never dropped again while our tractor was on the road.

In light of that accident between the bus and the semi truck that blew a tire that has been in the news, your story is kinda scary!
I am really glad that your trailer didn't come off on the highway and nobody got hurt!
