I'm still trying to get a complete background. :C
I can donate, but I'm choosing not to right now until something comes out that I really, really want.

I have several because I hadn't realized a thing yet and was blowing gold on it with such bright hopes.

The backgrounds aren't that hard to come by, for me it's the floorings that are hard.
Because you type in "floor" in the market place and you get like four items.
But in reality there are many items that have floors, you just have to search and search and search for them. >:(

I just can't get this song out of my head. didn't post the official vid though, cause its stupid and makes no sense

Which one makes me jam harder?
"FREEZE… Everybody clap your hands! *CLAPCLAPCLAPCLAP x481*
"Stop… Wait a minute~"
I didn't get to get the Uptown Funk jam out of my system when everyone else got to because the radio was on some got-no-jams times-gone-by soft rock station.

I've come to the realization that TEDx and the Sapling Foundation are plotting to take over the world one conference at a time by implanting innovative ideas into the minds of the culturally blind

I thought you might be into TEDx. in fact, you actually come to mind when watching their streams. personally, I like the idea of Ted, but I'm not sure I trust the motives of the Sapling Foundation, especially after watching Bullet Proof Monk (you know, philanthropic organization against war being secretly run by nazi war criminals). I'd probably be a little more trusting if there was any actual information on them, and now just a few snippets of obscure propaganda. of course, I'd probably change my views on them after watching one of TEDx's innovative streams about alleviating paranoia

I really only love TEDx because of some of the speakers and performers that they have at some of their talks.
They had two of my favorite black people talk/perform there!
Desiree Burch is one of my favorites and I loved her little speech and then they had Kimya Dawson perform there a couple of times and that was awesome. Then, I just love hearing the inspirational stories.

Oh, Amane. How could you, you don't even wear your natural crown!
I can tell but be a proud, strong black woman.
It's in my nature! I want to be one of those black woman who go on nature walks and are one with nature and put flowers in their fro and drink organic green tea... But are still so strong and powerful that they make a difference in their community and change the injustice!
Power to the people!

that sounds alot like the Rasta lady who just opened a juice bar on the street after mine. you just described her to a tee
there's nothing wrong with being proud of who you are. as Bob Marley once sang
Quote:
|
#if you don't know where you're coming from, you can't know where you're going to#
|
which is a very poignant statement, especially as history (or 'his story') is written by the victors

I wanted to be Rasta one day. But I don't want dreads.
And I don't really want to be vegan. I try, but it's hard.
I do want a cool Swahili name though. Like Penda. Adasimbo.
Names with power!
My dad was very active in black rights he went to many marches. I want to do something in my community for black people too, but the truth of the matter is, black people have come a long way and there's not a lot of injustice anymore.

It's not something I think about. Like, I read about dark-skinned little girls looking for dark-skinned dolls and characters in the shows, and… that was totes not me. I hear about people picking colleges while considering how many African-Americans are there and if they have any programs or organizations or whatever centering on black pride, and… totes not me! My skin is brown and my hair has caused me an aversion to being around water, but other than that, I'm just like anybody else. I never felt like an outsider over that.

When I was little I went too school where I was the only black kid in my grade up until the fifth grade. Then in middle school I was one of three biracial kids in the whole grade. So I always felt like an outsider.
I also experienced a lot of prejudice from some teachers in school because I was one of the only black students. But that's life for an ethnic minority in a small, Midwestern hick town.

lol, its ok, I'm not trying to recruit you into the panthers. you don't have to actively seek validation to be proud of who you are or where you came from, acknowledging is more than enough. denial is more than just a river in Africa

BLACK PANTHER PARTY!
Oh, there were never many black kids in my classes. I was often the only one. I didn't consider myself separate because of my appearance. I didn't realize how often I was the only black kid until sixth grade. And I was like, cool, difference.
