Oh! That sounds wonderful.
I wish we had "pick your own strawberries" places here in the USA! We have apple orchards, but they're expensive and half the time it's hard to find good apples there. And they're waaay out there. Up north, usually.
I wish we had a "pick your own blackberries" though. Man, I'd go crazy in a field of blackberries. *heavenly sigh*

Yup we have plenty of apple orchards in my area the main 1 named Wiards Orchard & in the fall pick ur own pumpkin patches. U can get fresh cider & the apples r devine actually. Its like going to a country fair type of setting during the day. In October at night they have Haunted Houses, Cornfield Mazes & Haunted Hay Rides.
---------- Post added 04-14-2015 at 08:52 PM ----------
Americans do love their bacon & the newer edible eats like a bacon donut r a prime example of that or the bacon sundae that Burger King offered.

you know, there's a line of study that suggests that dreams are actually threat rehearsals. according to the theory, whenever there is a major event that is/has/will happen in your life, or the life of someone in your life, the unconscious human mind plays out the different scenarios like some kind of encephalic theatre. of course, the part of the brain which plays out theses scenarios is located in close vicinity of the part of the brain which controls imagination, so the psychosomatic plays tend to be a little obscure. anyway, dealing with the real life situation causing the nightmare should, in theory, cause them to cease. of course, working out exactly what that real life cause is, that's the tricky bit
lol, I'm not too sure that hyper would look good on me. though I did once believe the hype about public enemy, but I soon realized the improbability of their uzi actually weighing a ton
its the third day of the first week back at Uni today. I've not got any lesson on the agenda, but I do need to submit the last of the coursework we had over the Easter break, a dissertation on 'the complexities of psychological practices in relation to real life events,' before the deadline. lol, should be fun. I wonder how many of my peers will have tried to request an extension while the university was closed. there's always one or two that give it the ol college tie try, and even less who succeed. that'll teach them, I mean, what've they been doing over the last two weeks, enjoying Easter with friends and family? lol, they've got a nerve

Quote:
A husband and wife are traveling by car from Atlanta to New York. After almost twenty-four hours on the road, they decide to stop at a nice hotel and take a room. They only plan to sleep for four hours and then get back on the road. When they check out four hours later, the desk clerk hands them a bill for $350. The man explodes and demands to know why the charge is so high. He tells the clerk although it’s a nice hotel, the rooms certainly aren’t worth $350. When the clerk explains that $350 is the standard rate, the man insists on speaking to the manager.
The manager enters the conversation and explains that the hotel has an Olympic-sized pool and a huge conference center which were available for the husband and wife to use. He also explains that they could have taken in one of the shows which the hotel is famous for. “The best entertainers from New York, Hollywood and Las Vegas perform here,” explains the manager.
No matter what facility the manager mentions, the man replies, “But we didn’t use it!”
The manager is unmoved. Eventually the man gives up and agrees to pay. He writes a check and hands it to the manager. “But sir,” the managers says, “this check is only made out for $100.”
“That’s right,” replies the man. “I charged you $250 for sleeping with my wife.”
“What! I didn’t sleep with your wife!” exclaims the manager.
“Well,” the man replies, “she was here, and you could have.”

lol, I've never watched The Defenders before, the write-up in the TV guide just never appealed to me. But after accidentally watching it today, I just might change my mind. James Belushi and Dan Ackroyd together again, lol, how could I have missed that?

you know, this writing memoirs lark is alot more tiring than one would think possible. of course knowing what to write is never a problem, this side of Alzheimer's, because they're your memories, if you don't know what to write then who could. But the actually putting together of the right combination of words so as to project your own unique perspective on events is a totally different and utterly exaustive kettle of fish

lol, yeah, I've created one, but writing about memories which I'm still in the middle of making doesn't appeal to me so I'm writing my memories from the beginning. starting from my first ever memory. the link to it is on my signature. have a look and see what I mean

Menelaus is very posh!
I've never heard of nightmares being a way for the brain to rehearse responses to threats! It all makes sense, though. Brains are so weird. It's no wonder scientists can't figure out what's going on in the brain most of the time.
---------- Post added 04-15-2015 at 01:23 PM ----------
I... I have a confession to make.
I have friends. But they are so far away. D:
I skyped with my friend in England and it was so nice to hear her voice again, but she's SO FAR AWAY. She sent me some tea and I'm like, "YESSS REAL ENGLISH TEA" but it makes me sad at the same time that she's so far away. Why can't there just be one country on earth? One continent so we don't ever have to go across an ocean to see someone?!

lol, I wish I was posh, I'm just a regular Londoner who's learned how to coin a phrase
but yeah, the theory of dreams as a threat rehearsal was studied in length by a guy named Revonsuo. Click Here its a bit in-depth but it is one of the templates that cognitive therapy was founded on, check it out for yourself, but be prepared to sift through alot of psychobabble

lol, you really are a professional lurker
but that is kind of deep. although, distance is only relative to your ability to traverse it. have you ever thought about what personal obstacles you would need to conquer to make the trip to go visit your friend? I'd wager that the hurdles aren't near as high as you think

I think the only hurdle for me is money. D: It's expensive to fly to England when you're broke.
I have a job, but all of my money goes towards paying off hospital bills, paying for medication, paying for my therapy sessions. Really boring stuff. I don't even have the money to buy a new bike.
But oh well. I hope that after I've paid off my hospital bills I can start saving up to go to England!
