I quit dat when I got to high school, dearest! I wanted to play when I was six because my sister did, and I was forced to stay in until then. *groan* I HOPE I can't play anymore.

Now every time I see/hear a piano, I think of the torture. I see somebody flawlessly playing a complex piece, and I shake my head and whisper, "I'm sorry."

Oh, no, no. She was forced to play it and finally got to quit in high school, too. I was so mad that day. And then I finally got to quit, and I was like, My oldest sister still plays songs from games or by bands she likes. Not often. I don't think she was fond of lessons, either.

Or was it that piano made from swans. Swan Piano! It's a wholesome gift.

It's society's fault. Society and the swans.

No. We were forced to do it after we didn't want to anymore. For years.

Swans are so beautiful, though. Do people eat swans?
They eat geese? Do they eat swans?

Swans are so romantic, they can die of a broken heart when their one true love dies. So romantic........

you can eat swan, but its not usually allowed. I think I hit on this with an earlier post about the Queen being the only legal person in the Uk legally allowed to sample their succulent meats. and some gypsies being arrested for roasting them in the park

I want to touch the Queen. Maybe if I touch her some of her royalty will rub off on me.

No! I could never eat a swan! I don't eat meat, it would kill me to eat something so beautiful, elegant and romantic!

But then I have eaten flowers before.

I've shaken princess Michael of Kent's hand before, she's the Queen's cousin I think. she gave me a flirty little smile before she moved on to watch the dressage at showjumping Olympia. and I've met Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, Lady Diana, Prince Andrew, and Princess Ann. you know, all the biggies (excluding her maj and the royal hubby). of course, I doubt that our liaisons were as memorable for them as they were for me

How did you ever get to meet so many of the royal family?
What was the occasion?

I used to be a senior security officer at the Olympia exhibition centre, where they annually hold London's most prestigious show jumping/dressage competition. I met Princess Michael while guarding the royal toilet. she didn't use it, but they have to have one in a secure location, just in case. she's always been my favourite royal, so it was a pleasant meeting, if not a pleasant location. I met the others on different days at the same show, but while guarding the ring door (the ring is where the horses are kept, usually only trainers and jockeys are allowed in, but how do you say no to royalty). Andrew just rushed in, said hello, then rushed out. Charles, et familia, on the other hand, were very regal. they sauntered in on a cloud of warm air, then seemed to vanish into a mist of special forces bodyguards. Anne, I think she was riding. so I barely got a tip of her hat. the Queen only goes on the final day, and nobody gets close to her. its strictly 'speak when your spoken too' and 'ask no unauthorized questions.' kind of like a mafia boss, but in a floral gown and gold etched slippers

It must be so cool to have gotten so close to royalty!
For some reason, meeting Obama doesn't seem to have the same effect as meeting THE QUEEN! Did you get to wear red and those big, black, fuzzy hats?

lol, the bearskin buzzbys are reserved for actual soldiers, who are the Queen's personal guard. they never speak, except issuing/receiving orders, and they only move in the line of duty. seriously, as long as you don't get too close, or actually touch them/the Queen etc, they don't even blink. their regiment, the Royal Horse Artillery, are based in Knightsbridge, between Hyde Park and Harrods. and you can see them exercising their horses in the park if you get up there early enough. I dud have to wear fancy white gloves though. they matched my lanyard in perfect contrast with my navy blue uniform. lol, if only they knew how much hair I had hidden under my hat

when you congratulate a friend on the coming baby, and she's not even pregnant
