Well it's 2:11pm here. So I think you're fine. Most people are still in school or at work. I'm being bad and I'm playing Mene while at work

Where are you from?

Hahahaah, I see. I'm from Brunei Darussalam - a place where 99% of the people I tell online don't know about before googling it haha. I can't sleep because my idiotic past-self thought that it was a good idea to gulp down a venti latte. Where are you from?

Tell me a little about it?

It's a small place next to our more well-known neighbours, Malaysia and Singapore. This country is ruled and governed by a monarchy system, with Malay being it's first language and Islam being it's first religion. It's been extra hot here with more and more bushfires recently. Overall, this country is still a developing but lovely country. My favorite part of it is no taxes at all haha.

Interesting! I learn something new every day.
Have you lived there your whole life? Ever travel to other countries before?

I'm just curious. I like learning about other cultures and countries. Especially if I've never heard of them before!

Yes - born and raised. I'm half Malaysian and half Bruneian. I really love travelling and I usually go overseas at least once a year. I've only been to Malaysia. Singapore, France and China. I'm going to Singapore this 23rd! Frankly, I've always wanted to go set foot on USA. You guys have literally everything there. Believe it or not, we don't even have a single walmart nor H&M. It's a bit mundane here.

Wow!
I'm not that impressed with life here. I'd actually like to be somewhere a bit less fast paced. I would like to be able to have time to shop for fresh food every day at a farmer's market and buy things I need from others who make it! Everything is so mass produced and processed these days and there's little meaning behind what we buy and less nutrition in our food. Walmart isn't that great! haha.

I wouldn't say it is so bad where I live. I live in a city and commute to another city about 70 miles away for work - but there is a good opportunity to escape into nature and the countryside. There are plenty of local markets that sell home grown foods and crafted goods. You just have to look for them.

I'd also love to travel. I've never been able to leave the states. I've only visited a few other states and there's really not much to those. Unless you like Disney World. Which is cool but not as awesome as you'd think. VEERRRY long lines to wait for rides.

I guess this is what they say clash of cultures. hahahahah. It's funny how I want to experience what you have and vice versa. I just want a local walmart here for cheap stuff hahaha. I don't know why but I just feel excited to shop in big storehouses. It's quite green and peaceful here if you ask me.

Also, what's your favorite genre of music?

Exactly!
Getting something cheap, for me, isn't necessarily synonymous with quality. Much of the produce and meat found in mass grocery stores are pumped full of stuff that's bad for you. Fruits and veggies are genetically modified much of the time and the animals are mistreated and stuffed with growth hormones to produce more meat. There's a drought in the western part of our country and yet we still bottle water from there and sell it in the rest of the country! It makes no sense! lol.

I would just like to experience other cultures, honestly. I almost..ALMOST got to go to India this past summer. I ended up not having the funds :(

EDIT:
I like rock and roll for the most part. But I'm fond of classical and pagan folk :)

I really hate hearing about food being genetically altered and chemically 'improved'. It makes me sick knowing that some people would neglect the safety of others to 'advance' industrialization and self-benefit. Sometimes I question the humanity of humans. Ironically, I sometimes spoil myself to these processed things. Sigh.

Sorry to hear about the India situation. I hate it when things don't go your way because it just seems so fair but I guess there are always reasons behind things that happen. I want to go to somewhere I can just have fun just by walking along the city streets with a cup of coffee in my hands and a camera to capture each and every second of it. I guess we both crave for the things we don't have. XD

I like listening to alternative/indie/rock because most of them have relatable lyrics for teens like me. I've only listened to Blackmoore's Night - Home Again if that counts as Pagan music. It had a cozy tune to it

Blackmore's Night is actually pagan folk :)
Lately I'm listening to a lot of Omnia and the like. I have a pagan folk station I listen to on Pandora. Leads me to a lot of good stuff.
There's also a variety of pagan chants available on Youtube that I like :3

Sadly, Pandora isn't available in my country. I like the genre but the chants are too much for me. They set an eerie vibe that I really cringe upon

Some of them are eerie, I would agree. I only have found a few I've liked so far. But those are the ones that I've used during ritual with my circle :) They are considered "chants" but end up sounding more like song. Not much difference, really.

But to each his own. I love the beautiful diversity in this world. We are all so different and yet alike...for the simple fact we are all breathing and existing on this earth. Love it.

Well, some of the earliest forms of music were to praise God. I'd rather blast guitar riffs and drum beats to be frank. XD

For sure!
I'm not super picky with music. Although, I'm not fond of any rap/hip hop or R&B. Not too big on pop. Just rock :P

Do you like to read any books?

Hi. Its a pleasure to make both your acquaintance. Hope you both have a great rest of the week. Oh and I have only been the site for the last few week since they close down a site call Mobion back on March 26th but the people here are amazing and quickly make you feel like your family here.

Welcome to Menewsha!
This thread has been very interesting to read!
I, too, have only been a member, here, since the closing of Mobion, and I also find Menewsha lots of fun and the members very friendly.
There is so much to do here, it may be slightly overwhelming at first, but even a slow learner, like me, can catch on pretty quick! Lol!
I wanted to comment on your ability to write such good English, considering that you were born and raised where English is not the primary language.
Most Americans don't write English so well! Lol!
I hope you have a peasant weekend!
....and I hope to see ya around Mene!

Its a great sight here. And English isn't my first language either. Its my third language. My first two languages are Greek and Portuguese. My father's family is from Greece and my mother's family is from Portugal. And both of my grandparents only speak those two languages in the house when it is just family and not outsiders. Knowing Greek is also great for training our dogs and wolves so people can't try to control but one of my sisters can if I can't get them under control in time. But I love speaking both language. Oh and if anyone knows who to speak Latin I would love to hold a conversation with you. I need to brush up on the language. My family is wiccan and the family book of shadow is written in that old language. Sadly I'm getting rusty in it since no one uses at home.

I am not really fond with books because my attention span is really short but literature is exceptional haha. I like to analyze poetry and read plays. I just feel satisfied if I get something that's hard to figure out. It's a really rewarding experience to me. How about you?

---------- Post added 04-10-2015 at 01:19 PM ----------

Hello! So sorry to hear about Mobion closing down. I myself just switched sites from gaia online to here because the inflation there is crazy! A pair of plain shoes can go up to millions and getting gold there is close tom impossible. I ruined the whole community aspect to me because most of the threads are either begging and flauting. There's also the 'popular' people who call themselves 'regulars' and I find that ridiculous. I do have to agree with you, this place does have a positive and warm environment. You have a great week too!

---------- Post added 04-10-2015 at 01:24 PM ----------

Hehehe, I'm slowly getting used to this site. Everything is lovely so far! D'aww, you flatter me. English is considered our second language here because we had something going on with the Brits back in the old days. I try to better myself each and every day because I really fancy this language. I feel like I can express myself better. Thank you and you too! XD
