Gemini's phone beeped, and she read the text. "Hold it!" She said, moving to stop Damian. "Your father says he'll be back soon, and not to move from where we are." She told him, even as she texted Bruce again. Damian's going to be a problem. How long?

Bruce got another text, and sighed. Give me five minutes. He texted back.

"Five minutes. Wait five minutes, and if he's not back I'll drive you myself if I have to."

"Alright." Damien scowled. "I'm willing to beat he's in Crime Alley." he pulled Rose upstairs and into his room grumbling. Once there he locked the door. "We can't wait that long." he looked to her. "Are you with me?"

Rosemary's expression had hardened into something cold, making her almost unrecognizable. "I'm with you. If he thinks he can just betray us like this and get away with it..." She clenched her fists. "You might have to stop me from killing him all over again."

Gemini paced, waiting for Bruce to show up. In her worry, she completely failed to consider that the kids might not obey orders.

"Good." Damien grinned and opened a hidden doorway behind his bookshelf. "come on." he lead the way letting the door close behind them. The stairs eventually lead to the cave "Dad had it put in just in case." he smirked and went to his suit getting ready.

Rosemary smiled grimly and quickly put on her Batgirl suit. "Let's hurry before my mom realizes we're gone." She said.

Damien left the batmobile and took his motorbike. "Hang on." He may have been to young to drive but that was not going to stop him. Once Rose was on he gunned it for Crime Alley.

Rosemary grabbed a helmet and hopped on behind Damian, holding on tightly.

Gemini heard the sound of a motorcycle and paused a moment. "Wait..." Suddenly she realized what had happened and cursed. She couldn't go after them, with Martha still there at the mansion. "Blasted kids!"

"What did they do?" Bruce asked, walking up behind Gemini and making her jump. He raised an eyebrow at her sour expression.

"They snuck out after Jason. You go fix things right now!"

"I'm already gone." Bruce disappeared as quickly as he had come, getting dressed and taking the batmobile after the kids all within a minute.

Martha pouted at looked up at Gemini. "Play dolls with me!" She demands looking miffed at being left behind.

Damien drove into Crime Alley. We'll have to split up. Don't try to take both Jason and Joker on." He turned and cursed as Jason appeared. "Where's Bruce?" He frowned. "This a exercise for him. He needs to choose." He scowled.

Despite her worry, Gemini couldn't help but smile at Martha's cuteness. "Okay. Let's go get them from your room." She said.

Rosemary glared at Jason. "This isn't right, Jason. I know you're mad but that doesn't mean you should drag auntie Lori into it." She tried to reason with him.

"She's the only one he cares about enough for this to work." Jason glared back. "I'm not going to hurt her."

"Love how you said you wouldn't." Damien examined the buildings trying to figure out which one Lori was in.

"That's-" Rosemary was about to say that wasn't true, but she didn't want to give Jason any ideas about Martha. "That doesn't make it okay." She said instead. She wasn't sure whether to be sad or angry. "Anyway, we're the ones that showed up, so you'll have to deal with it."

Just then, the batmobile skidded to a stop near them, making Rosemary slap her forehead. Bruce got out and headed over to them. "Damian, Rosemary, I'll be talking to you later." He said. "For now, stay out of the way. Jason." He turned. "Explain."

"You'll have to catch me." Jason smirked and attacked him chuckling softly.

"He's an idiot." Damien sighed.

Bruce countered smoothly. He tried to forget exactly who he was fighting- it felt wrong otherwise. Jason's movements were familiar and strange at the same time, and he had to adjust to keep up.

Rosemary was in tears, her fists clenched in frustration. "Quick, while they're busy, let's go find auntie Lori." She said. She refused to be totally useless and this, at least, was something she could do.

"That's start with this one." Damien lead the way into one looking around. "not on the first floor."

Jason lead the way towards where he was keeping his surprise. "You haven't changed." he smirked eventually getting to where Lori was tied to a chair. She looked up blinking "Batman." she never called him that unless there was someone else there. "I forgave you Bruce for my death but why." he pulled Joker from a closet. "is this piece of shit still alive?"

Rosemary searched, but she was also paying attention to the fight. "Damian, that way!" She said when she noticed both men disappear into the building next to theirs. Rather than run the distance, Rosemary simply jumped from one window to another and started climbing the stairs.

Bruce paused, momentarily shocked. "Jason...you already know why. You know how I operate." He said.

Damien followed hoping Lori was alright.

"After everything he did? He knocked up Gemini, beaten are friends and killed me. You could have at least have let Damien kill him!" Jason glared at the man. "He killed his son. I finally know who my father is. Great right? The bastard kills his own son. The only good part is Rose is my half sister."

Rosemary found where they were and stopped at the doorway. Her first thought was a grim satisfaction at seeing the Joker tied up, but that didn't last long as she caught on to what was being said. "Wait...what?" She said, looking shocked.

Bruce was rather surprised himself. "I didn't know that...I'm sorry, Jason. But even with all that...even though not a day passes when I don't wish he was dead, I won't kill him." He said. Seeing Rosemary at the door, he quietly cursed. Gemini was going to kill them all. "Rose..."

"Is that true?" Rosemary was shaking. "Uncle Bruce? Is it true that he's my...my father?"

Bruce was lost. "I...yes, Rosemary. It's true."

"You knew. You and auntie and mom...and Jason." The girl was furious. "You knew and you never told me. How could you? I had a right to know! All this time I've trained so hard with the goal of killing him, and you were hiding this from me." It didn't change her feelings. She still hated Joker, still wanted him dead- probably more than ever, now. "Is that why you never let me help with his cases? Why didn't you kill him? You had plenty of chances to just let him die!"

"I was younger then Rose and had promised your mother we wouldn't say. She's a fool for not telling you sooner." Jason sighed and looked at Rose. "I'm glad you know now." He looked to Bruce. "Everyone but you wants him to die." He lifted the Joker up and moved closer to Lori who glared at the Joker who was laughing. "Here's your last chance." He tossed Bruce a gun. "If you don't." He looked at the group. "I'll let him kill Lori." Lori stared at Jason in surprise.

Bruce caught the gun carefully. "Jason...you know I can't."

"Why not?!" Rosemary felt winded, like someone had punched her in the stomach. She couldn't believe Bruce wouldn't do something so simple, even for Lori.

"Because if I kill him- if I cross that line- I'll never be able to go back. Killing him would be so easy...it's so much harder to leave him alive. But I have to, because he's my responsibility." Bruce explained. He was looking at Lori as if asking her what to do.

Rosemary looked between each of the adults in the room. Part of her wanted to believe that Jason wouldn't really let Lori get hurt, but she couldn't take that chance. Before anyone could react, she ran and headbutted Bruce right in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him. She grabbed the gun and turned to point it at Joker. "If he won't do it, then I will!"

"No Rose this is for Bruce to do." Jason scowled at her. "I want him to choice." "I don't care if I die don't you dare shoot him Rosemary don't sink to Jokers leave your better then him." Lori lifted her chin welcoming death if it should come.

Rosemary shook slightly. "You know he won't do it. Not even for auntie." She said, her voice thick with tears. "It's not fair to make him do this when he doesn't want to. Not when there's so many people willing to do it for him. It's better this way, see? If I do it, he won't have to break his rule and Joker will still be dead. And I'm a minor, so even if anyone finds out I won't get in too much trouble." It sounded like she was trying to convince herself as well as everyone else. "I can do it. If that's who my father is, then it's in my blood anyway."

"Rosemary, put it down." Bruce had recovered from her surprise attack and stood over her. "You're not a killer, Rose. We all know you don't have it in you."

"Yes I do! I trained for it!" Rosemary turned and shot, surprising everyone again- but the bullet hit the floor. She had aimed away at the last second. She fell to her knees, trembling. "I can...I can do it...for mom and auntie and Martha...and Jacey...w-why can't I do it?"

"Because you're Rosemary. You're a good kid, gentle and kind. You always have been." Bruce said, taking the gun from her hand. She didn't resist. "Just let me handle this."

Jason hugged the girl tightly. "I'm sorry Rose I didn't want you to get involved." He sounded confused. Damien had been inching closer to Lori the whole time taking the chance to untie her at once she rushed to hide behind Bruce.

Bruce hid the gun away safely before reaching back to grab Lori's hand. He didn't take his eyes off Jason. They weren't in the clear yet.

Rosemary hugged him back. "I wanted to...for you. I'm sorry. I couldn't do it. I'm sorry." She sobbed.

Lori clung to Bruce's hand. "I know sweet girl but there right your not that kind of person. I'll finish him off." He stood and revealed a bomb. "Run." He whispered to her.

Damien grabbed Rose's hand "come on." He begged.

Rosemary paused, eyes wide as she realized what she was seeing. "No- wait!" She protested, but Damian was stronger than her, and she couldn't pull away.

Bruce swore. "Lori, get out of here." He said, sending her off after the kids. "Hurry!"
