"Not without Jason." Lori rushed forward and pulled on Jason's sleeve. "Please Jason we don't want to lose you again." She was crying. Jason blinked at the tears letting the woman drag him out he heard the bomb tick down and snapped out of his trance he pushed Lori under him as the building exploded behind them.

Damien shielded Rose blinking at the rubble. "Dad!"

Bruce was none too gentle as he picked up Joker and tossed him out of the building. The fall wouldn't kill him, but it would certainly hurt. Bruce jumped out after, just in time. As the smoke cleared, he jumped forward to search through the rubble.

Rosemary was up and searching before the smoke even cleared, glad for her gloves as the rubble would have torn her hands apart. "Auntie! Jason!" She yelled, searching frantically.

"We're alright." Lori called as Jason moved the rubble off of them. "Right?" She looked to Jason who nodded and took her hands. "I'm really sorry Lori." He hugged her. "I don't know what I was doing."

Bruce rushed over to them, kneeling to see if they were both okay. He didn't interrupt, though.

Rosemary had no such reservations. She tackle-hugged both Lori and Jason at the same time. "Don't ever, ever, ever scare me like that again!"

"Whoa." Lori laughed hugging the girl back. "I'm sorry Rosey I don't know what happened." Jason smiled at the girl.

"Just don't let it happen again." Rosemary said sternly. "Or I'll have to tie you up and keep you at home with me forever."

Bruce smiled. "Are you both okay now?" He asked, already checking Lori over.

"Sounds sketchy." Jason chuckled. "So...looks like your my half sister." he smiled.

"I'm fine but if you don't believe me you can do a full body exam later." Lori smirked.

Rosemary nodded. "Yeah...it stinks that it's through him, but I'll take it." She smiled brightly. "Especially since it means that I can call you my brother, and that you're back. You are back, right? Are you going to stay?" She asked, suddenly worried he would go away again.

Bruce chuckled. "I may have to do that. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't make sure you were in perfect condition." He said.

"That's up to Bruce by rights he should arrest me." Jason glanced at Bruce.

"Deal." Lori blinked "will you arrest him?"

Bruce looked from Lori to Jason and finally to Rosemary's hopeful face. He was torn between duty and feelings. "Now why would I do that? I didn't see him do anything wrong. I only saw him save Lori from an unfortunate explosion." He said after a minute. He had let people slip away before, he reasoned, and Jason was family. "The Joker, on the other hand, kidnapped Lori and set an explosive...normal enough for him but since we've got him tied up anyway I'll have to escort him back to Arkham."

Rosemary nearly exploded with happiness, but she kept it in. "Right, of course. It's just good to have Jacey back. Thank goodness he showed up when he did, or we might have been in trouble." She smiled brightly.

Lori smiled at Bruce. "That's my big softy." She teased then let Jason help her up. "Let's head home." She took Jason's arm. "Damien help your father please."

Damien was staring at the Joker a hard look on his face. "Yeah." He hauled the man up and forced him along.

Rosemary caught up with Damian. "If any accidents happen to him, I'm sure no one will blame you." She whispered, giving him a meaningful look.

Bruce ignored the children's whispering, pretending he didn't know what it was about. "Gemini is going to be upset when she finds out what happened." He said.

"We'll be fine just tell her it was said in the heat of the moment and honestly she should have said something by know." Lori sighed then headed off with Jason and Rose.

Once Joker was in prison Damien made a phone call one he knew his father would be pissed about.

Bruce shrugged and went off with Damian to leave Joker in prison. Once they were done, he cleared his throat. "Now, Damian...there is the small matter that you and Rosemary snuck after Jason specifically against orders."

Gemini had just put Martha down for a nap when everyone returned. She greeted them, looking intensely relieved. "Oh thank goodness everyone is okay! Where are Bruce and Damian? What happened?" Her expression changed. "Rosemary knows." It wasn't a question.

Rosemary nodded. "Yeah. It was an accident." She said, explaining what had happened quickly. She didn't question how her mother knew- Gemini always knew things when it came to Rose. "Mom...why didn't you tell me?"

Lori dragged Jason away so that Gemini and Rosemary could talk.

"Am I grounded?" Damien asked with a grimace.

Gemini sighed. "Rosie..." She started, using her pet name for the girl. "I was going to tell you, when you were older. See, when I found out I was pregnant with you, I didn't know that the man I was seeing was Joker. I found out after you were born, and I decided it would be better, at least while you were young, that you didn't know. The only people who knew were Bruce- who was the one who found out in the first place- Lori, Jason and myself. I made them promise not to say anything until I thought you were ready." She placed a hand on Rose's shoulder. "I certainly never expected that you would become Batgirl. Rose, I'm so proud of you."

Rosemary bowed her head. "I understand. You wanted to protect me." She said. "Thank you for telling me the truth. Now that I know this, will you tell me where babies come from?"

"Not until you're thirteen, I already told you that."

"Fine." Rosemary pouted. "I'm gonna go talk to Jacey."

Bruce sighed. "You have put me in a difficult position, Damian. I know you wanted to help, but you disobeyed me, and you took Rosemary with you. Both of you could have been hurt- or worse." He looked at his son sternly. "You need to be a good example for Rosemary, since she's still relatively new at this. What you did was irresponsible. Yes, you will be grounded...to an extent. I'll give you a break because you did it for the right reasons, though. One week, no patrols and no video games."

"Alright." Damien was going to get a lot worse when his father found out what be bad done. "I'll go upstairs." He paused to watch TV since a news bulletin bad began. "We have just received word that someone has killed the Joker." The reporter began. "Details are still rolling in. So far all we know is that the person appeared to be a ninja." Damien made his face blank but on the inside be flinched he was in so much trouble.

Bruce froze. "Damian." He said, his voice frighteningly calm. "Please tell me this wasn't your doing."

Damien shrugged. "I didn't do anything. I've been here the whole time. Besides grandfather isn't the only one who has ninja's could have been anyone."

"You've come a long way since you came here young man, but I can still tell when you're lying." Bruce said. He sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Well...since I technically don't have any proof that you did anything, I can't punish you." He just wasn't in the mood to argue, and a tiny part of him was glad that someone had finally done what he couldn't. "You realize that if this is ever, in any way traced back to you, I'm going to have to arrest you." It wasn't a question. Damian knew the consequences of his actions. "So make sure I never find a single clue that ties you to it."

"I don't know what your talking about." Damien shrugged and headed upstairs to his room.

"You'll never find a clue that leads to him. To Ra's maybe." Lori shook her head.

Bruce sighed. "What am I going to do about him?" He asked, though it was clearly a rhetorical question. "How are you doing, love?" He asked.

Rosemary, meanwhile, was sticking close to Jason, as if she were afraid that he would disappear if she looked away. "Do you want to watch me train? Or train with me? I can show you how good I am now."

"I'm doing fine a little sore from the fall." Lori leaned against. "Would you hug me for a while?" she asked clinging to his shirt.

"I'm not to into training right know. I'm just tired." Jason shrugged. "Besides your mom would ground you even further if you don't get home soon."

"Of course." Bruce said, wrapping his arms around Lori. He held her close, but was gentle so that he didn't hurt her.

Rosemary pouted. "Yeah, you're right. I come over here every day, though, so I'll be back after school tomorrow. Will you still be here?"

"That depends on if Lori and Bruce want me here." Jason shrugged. "Though they probably wouldn't say no."

Lori shook gentle tears rolling down her cheeks as she clung to him tighter.
