Gemini took a breath. "Okay...remember you reserve the right to tell me I'm being stupid at any point." She said. "My thought is...it's possible to bring someone back to life using magic. I mean...you know. We could try...I happen to know a spell, but it's really risky and it has to be done less than twelve hours after the death." She had learned the spell in case anything ever happened to Rosemary. She didn't have powers by any means, but it was something that could be performed by a talented human. "And there's a chance, depending on your condition, that you might need a surrogate. You probably won't, but there's a small chance."

Rosemary frowned a little when Damian let go of her hand, but turned to look at Bruce. He looked devastated.

Bruce raised an eyebrow but didn't comment, knowing Damian would hate him for it if he did. "I just came to fill you in on what happened with Lori." He said. Making sure he had their attention, he went on. "She's going to be fine...but she had a miscarriage. She's really upset..." He didn't mention how upset he was, because to him it didn't matter. "Things are going to be rough for a while...but at least she'll be okay."

Lori stared at Gemini for a moment. "Gemini...the being was only a week along at the most. It wouldn't be worth it." she sighed a little. "the risks out weight the results. I'll just...this is going to be strange for a while and I just know." she sighed a little. She didn't like the idea of needing to find a surrogate.

Damien collapsed into his chair pale. "I can't believe mom knew and she still." he trailed off. "I hate her." he said it with venom looking surprised at the tone of his own voice.

Gemini nodded. "Right, of course. I didn't think you'd go for it. I just thought I'd offer." She said. "My other idea was that you could try again. I'm sure Bruce would agree if you talked to him. And...if you needed me to, I would be a surrogate for you." She blushed, feeling stupid. "I'm sorry, that's silly. You don't need one, and it's vain of me to think you'd even ask me to if you did."

Bruce looked equally surprised. "Damian...try not to hate her." He said. "Hate is a terrible thing. It eats you alive from the inside and turns you into a monster...a lot like Ra's. Your mother is...she's done some terrible things, but she's not really evil. Just misguided. I don't want you to go through life hating your own mother."

"If I did need one you would be the first person I asked." Lori squeezed her hand. "Probably the only one."

"But she is evil." Damien scowled. "I'm missed guided, she takes it to a new level." He huffed. "I don't need her. I have Lori and she's enough for me."

Gemini looked up and smiled. "That means a lot." She said. "Anyway, you should focus on getting better, and then talk to Bruce about this. If you want another baby, I'm sure he'll want one, too."

Bruce sighed. He didn't want to lecture. "Alright. Just...remember what I said about hate." He said. He worried about his son- maybe a bit too much, but that's just how he was. "I'm going to go back and stay with Lori."

Damien was planning on hating his mom for a while but he knew once he calmed down he would go back to at least tolerating the fact that he was related to her.

Lori smiled again and settled into the bed slowly drifting off.

Bruce waved goodbye and went back to Lori's room. He entered in time to see Lori sleeping and smiled. "I'll take over from here, Gem." He said quietly.

Gemini looked up and nodded. "Alright." She stood and moved aside so Bruce could sit down. "Listen, when she waked up...just talk to her, okay?" After receiving a nod, she smiled and left them alone.

Once Bruce was gone, Rosemary looked over at Damian. "Are you going to be okay?" She asked softly.

"I honestly don't know. I'm worried Talia will do something else to get dad or me or both." Damien ran a hand threw his hair. "I just don't know what to do." he groaned and let his head fall gently onto her bed. "Can I just melt into the bed?"

Rosemary scooched over and patted the bed. "You can lay down if you want." She meant on top of the covers, of course. "All that stuff...we'll figure it out as we go along. And you won't have to do it alone. I'll be here to help you no matter what."

"I'm fine down here wallowing." Damien sounded like he was pouting. "I know that Rose but if doesn't make it easy." He sighed.

"Well, nothing in life is easy." Rosemary said, trying awkwardly to lighten the mood. "C'mon, don't pout. Just for now, can you be happy that everyone is okay?"

"Okay?" Damien snorted. "Lori's in the hospital with cuts and bruises, she lost her baby. Your so beat up in breaks my heart every time."

"But I'm alive, and so is auntie Lori. And she and uncle Bruce will work through what happened to the baby." Rosemary pointed out. "I'm just saying you should try to look on the bright side. You're always so gloomy...I just want you to be happy."

"But doom and gloom is part of my charm." Damien joked then sat up with a smile. "Smile then I'll be happy."

Rosemary blinked, blushing as she realized what he'd said. "Th-that will make you happy?" She asked. Well, if it was true, then it was worth it...and not really that much of a problem, since she liked to smile anyway. She gave him one of her brightest smiles.

"Perfect." Damien smiled back and kissed her hand. "Thank you." he let out a yawn. "Guess I'm tired." he chuckled.

Rosemary's blush deepened, but her smile grew brighter when she realized she'd made him happy. "You should get some sleep. It's been a long day." She suggested.

"Alright...not sure how I'm getting home." Damien wondered off to call Alfred who brought him to the manor where he fell asleep on his bed without even changing.

Lori woke with a groan and blinked confused for a second until she remembered what had happened and tears appeared in her eyes.

Damien woke up and headed to school planning on visiting Rose later.

Bruce had barely slept all night, sitting up in a chair next to Lori's bed. When she woke up, he was right there to comfort her, knowing what her reaction would be when she remembered everything.

Rosemary woke up that morning feeling much better. She was told by the doctor that she could go home later that day, which made her want to sing with happiness.

Lori pulled Bruce to him squeezing him with all she had. "I'm sorry Bruce. I should have protected myself." she sniffled. "I got hurt and I lost our baby. I'm pathetic."

Bruce held her close, shaking his head. "No, Lori. It's not your fault, it's mine. They tricked me. I should have gone shopping with you, I should have been able to protect you. I wouldn't have expected you to fight those two off, it's nearly impossible even for me. If I had just been there from the beginning, they never could have hurt you."

Lori hiccuped and clung to him. "What do we do?" she sniffled. She wasn't sure she could ever stop feeling like a failure nor would she be able to stop Bruce from feeling like it was his fault.

"We'll get through this." Bruce assured her, though he wasn't entirely sure how. "We'll figure it out together. Eventually, we'll be able to move on. Maybe we'll even be able to try for another baby."
