Before answering anything, Bruce led his son to another room. He suspected that Damian already knew what was going on- the boy was too smart sometimes. "Damian...while I was out searching for Lori, I came across..." How was he supposed to say this? Guilt shot through him like a lance. "I found your mother. Someone killed her, Damian. I...have a few suspicions about who it was, but...I didn't see it happen." He looked at his son, silently begging him to understand. "I'm sorry, son. I really am. Your mother and I didn't get along well, but when it came to you, at least..." He sighed. "Anyway, I wanted you to know, for two reasons. First, because you deserve to know. And second, because I'm counting on you to protect everyone while I'm away. Jason may be older, but he doesn't know Ra's like you do. If your grandfather shows up, Damian...please protect everyone. You're the only one who can."

"Mom's dead?" Damien shrugged. "Guess it was bound to happen. As for Ra's I can handle him well enough." He smiled at Bruce. "I promise on my honor that I will protect the family."

Well, that confirmed it. He'd already known about Talia. He sighed. "Alright, then. I'm counting on you. As for everything else, Jason is in charge. You, Rosemary and him will have to manage while I'm gone. And Damian...I'm sorry." Despite their relationship, he knew it couldn't be easy for the boy to know what his mother was dead. Especially if he knew who killed her, which Bruce suspected he did. "Be good, alright? I have to go now, or I'll never hear the end of it." He awkwardly patted Damian on the shoulder and headed for the door.

Damien smirked a little amused at the difference between his father and Lori. Lori would have given him a bug even if he didn't want it. As he walked back into the kitchen Lori did bug him catching him off guard for a second. He blinked and hugged her back "It's ok Damien." Lori whispered and with just those words he started to cry though he wasn't sure how they had started.

From where she crouched on the floor, playing with Martha, Rosemary watched Damian re-enter the room and instantly get hugged by Lori. She stayed quiet, even though she wanted to jump up and hug him, too, when he started crying. She knew that would only embarrass him. Still, seeing him hurting bothered her greatly.

"Shh, shh my dear." Lori held Damien tighter till he stopped crying and even then she held on to him a little longer. Finally he pulled away and rubbed his cheeks.

"Sorry." Damien hiccuped. "Don't be." Lori took a tissue and wiped his cheek. "If you want to cry some more I'll be here." she promised.

Rosemary looked away studiously, playing with Martha so that Damian could cry without shame. Once he was done, she leaned closer to Martha. "Why don't you go give Damian a hug?" She whispered.

Martha smiled and went over hugging Damien. "I love you big brother." Damien blinked and picked her up "I love you too princess." he kissed her forehead gentle. Lori smiled at Damien and Martha turning back to the cookie's she had been making.

Rosemary smiled and stood up, walking over to Damian. "So, what's the word on who's in charge?" She asked, because that subject was safe to talk about.

"Jason's in charge of missions, Lori's in charge of us at home.." Damien shrugged. "Who else would be?" he set Martha down and she waddled off to find Alfred.

"I don't know. Just thought I'd ask." Rosemary put her arms behind her back. "So...wanna go to the movies or something? We've got a few hours to kill before work."

"A movie sounds great. Should we go use the big tv or go out to see something new?" Damien asked taking her hand gentle. "Make sure your home before dusk." Lori glanced at them. "Alright." Damien agreed.

"Let's see something new." Rosemary said. She'd been stuck inside too long, and wanted to go out for something. "There's a lot of new stuff out this week, actually, so we'll have a lot to choose from."

"Alright." Damien looked to Lori. "Can I drive?" he asked. Lori blinked "Sure but take Alfred's car it's safer." Damien lead the way to the car. "Ready?" he grinned at Rose.

Rosemary chuckled. "I can't believe she's letting you drive." She said. "We're not even sixteen yet." This didn't seem to worry her, though, as she got into the car without hesitation.

"Hey I'm sixteen in two days and I've had my license for a while. Thanks to dad pulling some strings besides she seemed a bit out of it." Damien grinned. "Yeah she was but I'm not." Jason pulled Damien out of the front seat. "No taking advantage of Lori's airheadedness into the back." Damien pouted. "Damn almost got away with it to."

Rosemary moved to the back seat to sit with Damian, resisting the urge to laugh. "Nii-san catches us again. How do you manage to get us every time?" She asked Jason.

"I was your age once you know." Jason snorted. "and I tried the same trick. It was Alfred who caught me though." he glanced back at them. "It's not nice to play those tricks on Lori." Damien looked away. "I know." he sighed.

Rosemary looked down guiltily, even though she hadn't really done anything wrong. "We'll be nicer next time." She said. "I promise."

"Alright." Jason smiled and drove to the theater. "I'll be nice enough to not go in. Just call me when the movies over and don't even think about walking." he glanced pointedly at Damien who had done that very thing before. "I promise not to walk." Damien rolled his eyes and slipped out.

Rosemary pouted. She had wanted to walk in the first place, but of course they wouldn't let her walk that far just yet. "Fine. Thanks for driving, Nii-san." She said before getting out.

Damien took Rose's hand and lead the way inside. "What would you like to watch?" he asked looking at the least of movies chewing on his lip a little.

Rosemary reviewed the board that showed the movie lineup and tried to figure out what they should see. She wanted to pick something they would both enjoy. "Um...how about that one?" She pointed out a new action movie that had looked promising in the trailers.

"Sure." Damien lead the way and paid for the tickets. "I know what your going to say but where on a date and I want to treat you."

Rosemary opened her mouth to argue, but shut it with a blush at the word date. "F-fine...if you want to. Thanks." She said.
