"Ah good. Get rid of her." Joker left the room readying his trap for Bruce. He gathered Penguin and Riddler as well for his truck. Once Harvey had tied Gemini up he joined Jokers court helping dress there human captives like Superman, wonder woman and the green lantern. Then they waited for Bruce.

Bruce finally arrived, feeling like he had taken too long, terrified of what might have happened to his family.

"Finally." Joker sighed. "Welcome to your throne room." he grinned gesturing to the electric chair that he had decorated. "We have everyone here. Why don't you sit my king?" he laughed. "If not we'll just have to see which one of your friends can pull this sword out of the stone." There was a chainsaw stuck in a boulder with a short circuit meaning anyone who turned it on would get a shock to kill.

Bruce froze, struggling to take in what he was seeing. After a moment, he realized he had no choice, and went to sit down.

At was the chair zapped him hard enough to knock him out but not to kill him. "Your no fun Batsy." Jokers laugh was the last thing he heard. When he came to his was tied to the chair at a table all the members of the family where there even Alfred. "Oh your awake. Don't move or you'll blow us all up." he grinned at Bruce.

Bruce glanced around, taking in his surroundings. What the hell was going on? He didn't dare move, though, knowing there were no empty threats where Joker was concerned.

"Now that where all here. Why don't we decide who dies next." Joker smirked. "I've already killed Jason once but he seems to be the one to hurt you the least." he smirked. "Though I could start with Lori." Lori had come to at the moment as had the others. He stroked Lori's hair "And I can take Martha as my own child."

"You will leave them alone!" Bruce said in a menacing growl. No one would take his wife and child from him, no matter what. He would die protecting them if he had to.

"Oh so protective of them but how many of your friends have I injured or killed? How about the other villains? Yet we're still alive. How strange. Don't you think Lori?" Joker smirked as she glared at him. "If he really cared wouldn't he have destroyed us instead of letting you suffer?" he leaned in close. "If it was me a would kill them." he jerked back when Lori spit in his eye. "Oh your definitely first." he pulled a knife from his pocket.

Just then, a click echoed through the room, louder than it should have been. Rosemary had wriggled one arm out of her restraints- her arm was bleeding- and was pointing a gun at Joker. "Back. Off. Now. He might be afraid to kill you, but I'm not."

"Oh but then you'll have to be arrested. He doesn't let that slip unless your his wife." Joker smirked as Lori paled. "Don't worry Batsy I took the liberty of having a person tell the cops. She'll be in Arham by tomorrow if she survives of course." he looked to Rose. "Think you could miss everyone else?"

"I don't care if I get arrested." Rosemary said, her aim steady. "...what do you mean, everyone else?" She asked coldly.

"I mean I could dodge your bullets or stay behind one of your family members. Unless you got really close you would hit them first." Joker slipped behind Lori toying with her hair. Lori shivered "Don't touch me."she snarled. "oh you don't want me to touch you?" Joker smirked and leaned in close. "Batbrain doesn't seem to mind." he smirked.

"Of course I mind!" Bruce said angrily, struggling to free himself. He stopped when a gunshot sounded.

Rosemary waited until Joker leaned in to talk to Lori, then fired. She was sure of her aim- it wouldn't hit her aunt. But of course, it might not hit Joker, either. It was a gamble she was willing to make.

"Rose, stop!" Gemini spoke up, worried.

"Whoop. So close." Joker smirked. "Don't worry I'll get to you. We have to make Baty strong again." he pressed the knife to Lori's side. "I could finish what Talia started." he smirked digging the blade in. Lori turned paler tears appearing in her eyes she slammed them shut as Joker raised the knife for the final blow.

Another gunshot rang out, and this one hit home, knocking the knife out of Joker's hand.

Using the gunshot as cover, Bruce managed to break his bonds and jumped up, lunging for Joker.

Joker cursed glaring at Rose. He blinked as the bomb under Bruce's chair went off he laughed and used the distraction to race away. Lori managed to get free and pulled Martha under her protecting her from the fire. "Go get him." she glanced at Bruce as Martha cried under her weight.

Bruce glanced once at everyone tied up and hesitated. In that single moment of indecision, he saw Rosemary take off after Joker, motioning for him to untie everyone. He started untying them, going quickly both to save them from the fire and so that he could go after Rose.

Joker raced threw the cave system laughing a little. "Catch me if you can."

Lori stopped Bruce when he made his way over to her. She clung to him with Martha in between them shaking like a leaf.

Bruce stopped in his tracks and hugged both his wife and daughter, trying not to shake along with them. "It's alright. You're safe now. I'm so sorry."

Rosemary ran as fast as she could. Joker had a head start, but she had the advantage of being younger. She caught up quickly. "Running away again, huh? What's wrong, you scared?" She taunted.

"Of course not. I just like messing with you." Joker grinned at her. "Though it looks like I'm out of running space."

Lori took a deep breath and glanced at the others glad to see everyone was ok. Damien had gone after Rose which didn't surprise Lori in the least. "I know I told you to go after him but would you stay instead?"

Bruce nodded. "I'd rather stay here with you. Honestly...I know it sounds cowardly, but I would rather let Rosemary go after him. She'll at least have the nerve to do what I never could." He really hated himself for thinking it, let alone saying it. "Lori...if you're ever going to demand that I quit this job, now would be the time."

"Looks like it." Rosemary had him cornered. She leveled the gun at him, right at his heart. "I've waited a long time for this. Any last words, daddy?"

Lori stared up at him in surprise. "You would do that? Really do that if I asked you to stop? What about the city?"

Joker blinked then chuckled. "You really think killing me will fix anything?"

Bruce nodded. "I've been thinking about quitting for a while. I'm getting too old for it, and I want to spend more time with you and Martha." He shrugged. "Jason is capable enough to take over, at least until Damian is old enough. I trust the kids with the city. They'll do well."

Rosemary gave the tiniest shrug, barely moving the gun. "Well, it will make auntie Lori feel safer, and uncle Bruce won't have to do it, so that'll take a load off his shoulders. Jason will certainly be happy about it, and so will Damian. And I'll be making things just a little safer for Martha. And...honestly, it'll make me feel better. So yeah, it'll solve a few things at least."

"If think so then go right ahead." Joker held his arms out and waited a smirk on his face.

"You aren't old Bruce. We are only in are 40's." Lori half rolled her eyes. "But yes I would love you to stop fighting crime...even though it selfish."
