"She's at home. I just came from there. We talked and hugged and...I really should go see Damian." Rosemary hurried up the stairs.

"OK?" Lori blinked at Rose raced past.

Damien was practicing with his word in his room stopping short of nailing Rose when she entered.

Rosemary stopped short, blinking at the sword. As soon as it was safe to do so, she ran forward and hugged Damian. "My mom lost her job." She said quickly. "She got home and we talked and then she called work to see what time she should come in and they fired her right there because she'd been in jail and now she's upset and crying at home because she's afraid no one will hire her now that she's got a criminal record and I don't know what to do Damian she's so upset."

"I'm sure she can find something and besides dad would give her a job in a heart beat." Damien hugged her back after dropping the sword so he wouldn't accidentally hurt her. "Everything will be fine. We'll figure it out."

Rosemary sighed and nodded. "I know. Thank you. I...I just got so worried. I mean...you know how my mom is. She won't accept a job from your dad if he just offers. She won't take anyone's charity. But with murder on her record, there's no way she'll be able to find a job that will pay enough for us to stay where we are. She was barely making enough before, and I can't take a part time job, not with school and patrols and everything else." She sniffed and stepped back. "But, we could survive having to move. It's her I'm most worried about. She just took it so hard. Like...harder than she should have. I can't help but feel like there's something she's not telling me."

"Parents do that Rose." Damien sighed a little. "Just talk to her and maybe she'll tell you. Remind her that your old enough know to help her handle things and if you really want to get a job I can handle patrols with Richard."

Lori finished playing with Martha and sat back with a sigh staring at Bruce.

Rosemary nodded, though her jaw clenched. "I'm not stopping patrols. I'll get a paper route if I have to, but I am not just stopping." She told him.

"It was just a suggestion." Damien put his hands up in surrender. "Rose...This is a terrible time to ask but your going to be eighteen in a few weeks and I'm already eighteen." he pulled out a box. "Rose will you marry me?" he asked with a blush being his usual blunt self. The box held a small gold band with a diamond, it looked old.

Caught completely off guard, Rosemary blinked, unbelieving, at the ring. It took a moment for her to fully absorb what he had said. Once she did, several things happened at once. She blushed, gasped, and hugged him forcefully, all while squealing the word "yes" over and over again. There were tears in her eyes when she pulled away, and a huge grin on her face. "Yes, definitely one hundred percent absolutely yes."

Damien grinned and slipped the ring on breathing in relief when it fit. "It was Martha Wayne's. Lori helped me unearth it from her jewelry box. I hope you like it."

Rosemary blushed brightly, tears of joy falling down her cheeks as he put the ring on her. Hearing that it had belonged to Bruce's mother, she gasped slightly. "I love it. Oh, Damian..." She hugged him tightly. "I love you."

"I love you too." Damien smiled. "We should go tell everyone...your moms going to kill me." he grimaced.

Rosemary chuckled. "She won't kill you. If anything, she'll ask why it took you so long to ask." She said. She took his hand and led him back down to where everyone was gathered.

Lori looked up and grinned. "So you finally asked her huh?"

Damien blushed. "Yes I did." he shifted embarrassed. "I'm so happy for you two." Lori hugged them both. "I'm glad the ring fits."

Bruce looked mildly surprised, but happy. He patted each of them on the shoulder. "Congratulations, you two." He said.

Rosemary couldn't keep the smile from her face. "Thank you. We need to tell my mom, too."

"We can take my car." Damien lead the way holding Roses hand gentle.

"There so great together." Lori smiled and took Bruce's hand. She felt a distance between them that she had never noticed until she had kill Talia. She wasn't sure how to close that distance and it made her feel terrible.

Bruce nodded, squeezing Lori's hand. Unlike her, he didn't sense any distance between them. "I'm glad they're so happy with each other." He said.

"Bruce...why do you feel like I don't deserve to be with you?" Lori sighed. "I feel so happy but so worried...ok worried isn't the word. I'm not sure how to explain in." she pouted.

Bruce looked over at Lori and blinked, looking shocked. Where was this coming from? "What do you mean? I don't feel that way. I never have. If anything, I'm the one who doesn't deserve you. What is it that's bothering you?"

"I don't know Bruce. Ever since I killed Talia I've felt like I betrayed you and I did though it was a case of killing her or letting her kill me." Lori sighed. "You where right. Killing makes you spiral out of control."

Bruce gently pulled her close and hugged her. "You didn't betray me, Lori. You did what you had to do. I understand that, and I understand why you had to." He sighed. "When you kill someone, it's like you lose a piece of your soul. But that doesn't mean you have to change forever." He pulled back to look her in the eye. "If you talk about it, work through what you're feeling, then it will get better over time. And I'll be here for you no matter what. Anything you need, just come to me, okay?"

"Can I go to a therapist?" Lori asked. "That would be hard. There would be a lot I needed to hide from him or her." she sighed and ran a hand threw her hair.

"I'm sure we could find a therapist we could trust. Heck, I'll bet Alfred knows a few people. Besides, everything you tell a therapist is confidential. No matter what you told them, they wouldn't be legally allowed to tell anyone else." Bruce reasoned. "If you want to try that, we'll find someone."

"Ok." Lori smiled at Bruce. "Thank you Bruce. Though there is a therapy we could do together." she blushed.

Bruce grinned. "Oh, I would be happy to provide that kind of therapy." He said.
