"We can't do that yet," Steve said rather apologetically. "Things are... complicated. Getting moreso by the minute." He ran a hand over his hair.

"Uh huh." Leia eyed him. "Still working on believing all this, so you know. So you saved my sister and I and brought us here. Why here? Why not take us home? Or drop us off at a hospital or something?"

"Complicated," Diana repeated. "What do you mean by 'complicated'? How complicated?"

"That's... a bit harder to explain," Bucky replied, running his fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck. "Something came, and it made it a bad idea to take you back."

"Complicated," Steve said with a weary sigh. "Look, I don't know if you're ready to hear this yet. You've already got a lot to adjust to. Maybe give yourself an hour or two to think things over first?"

"Uh huh." Leia's eyes narrowed at him. "And what came up? They didn't do anything to us, right?" Her hands started to tremble again, just a little, panic starting to set in at the thought of all the ways things could be worse.

"I want to know what's going on," Diana insisted, watching him. Something about him set her teeth on edge, somehow.

"It... might have," Bucky replied. "Look, just take a little while to think things over, alright? I'll finish explaining when you're not about to have a panic attack."

Steve sighed and muttered something about stubbornness. "Alright. You and your sister are... different. Unique." He paused for a moment. "In the larger scheme of things, you would be considered royals."

"I'm going to have a panic attack if you leave me to think of all the possible things that happened while I was unconscious," Leia said, clenching her hands into fists. "I'd rather know what happened than be left guessing right now."

"Royals." Diana looked at him, half-way between disbelief and hysterics. "Really? That's the story you're going with?"

"Hey, hey, easy," Bucky said. "It's okay. Nothing bad happened to you, we found you before anything could happen. Things just got a bit... complicated, once we got you back here. We can't just drop you back on the planet."

"That's what the science says," Steve said with a shrug. "I'm not much of a science guy, personally, but I trust the guy that does the science. I can explain it all, except you look like you're about to faint."

"You keep saying complicated, like it's not complicated enough already," Leia said. "What could possibly be more complicated than this?" She made a big waving motion that encompassed the two of them and the ship.

"I kind of feel that way," Diana replied, her voice a bit thin. Her face was pale, and she was swaying just slightly. Definitely on the verge of hysterics.

"A few things," Bucky replied. He studied her for a second. "I really think you should take a few and get used to things first, but if you really insist..."

Steve gently caught her arms, making sure she was alright. "Deep breaths," he told her, his eyes flashing over her. "Take deep, even breaths with me, just focus on me for now." This was improper, but it was better than her passing out on him.

"I insist," Leia said. "Trust me, I'll drive myself crazy trying to figure it out unless you just tell me."

Diana did as he said, just focusing on calming down for a few moments.

"I'm okay," she finally said. "I'm fine."

"Don't say I didn't warn you," Bucky said. He took a small breath. "Okay. I wasn't kidding about the youth serum thing. Once we got you back here, something seemed a bit off, so we had our science guy check and make sure neither of you were given any dangerous drugs or anything and figure out what was up." He paused for a moment. "We can't take you back because you're special. Royalty."

Steve gave her a few more minutes, until he could hear her heartbeat was back to normal, and then he took a little step back from her.

That was so far past believable that Leia just snorted. "Royalty. Right." She shook her head. "Uh huh, sure. There's not a damn thing royal about me, buddy."

Diana's grip on the edge of her seat was still tight, and she turned a bit away from him.

"I need to--talk myself out of more hysterics," she said.

Bucky shrugged.

"Hey, science doesn't lie, and I trust our science guy. You're royalty. You and your sister."

"Just yell if you need anything," Steve said, taking another step back. "I'm Steve, by the way." He eyed her one more time before he headed for the door. Hopefully she would actually adjust now.

"Uh huh." Leia was clearly still disbelieving, but she shrugged. "Well, if that's the story you're sticking with..." Because she just didn't see how it was in any way possible for them to be royalty.

"Okay," Diana said, her voice still a bit tight. She turned to look out the window, just trying to work through everything.

"I promise you it's all the truth," Bucky replied. "There's science and everything."

Steve didn't go very far, staying fairly in close in case she needed anything.

"Right." Leia shook her head. She wasn't ready to believe that just yet. Space ship? Sure. Aliens? Okay. Her being royalty? Nope, not a chance.

It didn't take Diana long to realize something. She shifted a bit uncomfortably in her seat and looked around a bit.

"Steve?" she tentatively called, looking for him. "Where's my sister?"

"Think about it for a bit," Bucky said. "Take some time to get used to the idea."

Steve blinked at that and poked his head around the door again.

"I think Buck's still talking to her," he said, tilting his head a bit. "You want me to go check?"

Leia nodded a bit, looking out the window again. She knew she could use some time, even if she didn't necessarily want to admit it.

Diana nodded.

"I need to make sure she's alright," she said.

Bucky retreated, although he didn't go much further than just beyond the door, just in case.

"Just give me one moment," Steve told her, leaving the room again.

"Everything go alright?" he asked Bucky, raising an eyebrow.

"As alright as it could," Bucky replied. He looked at Steve. "What about with you?"

"She's a bit freaked out, worried about her sister, but otherwise it went as expected." Steve shrugged. "Figured we could probably let 'em see each other now."

Bucky nodded.

"Fine by me," he said. "No threat in letting 'em see each other, now, so it should be fine. Have at it."

Steve nodded and went to go get Diana.

"Your sister is just down the hall. I'll show you."

Diana nodded and scrambled to her feet, following him. She needed to make sure her sister was alright.

Steve nodded to Bucky again as he passed and opened the door for Diana.

Leia looked over when the door opened and relaxed a bit when she saw Diana. "There you are."
