"Technology is more advanced than on Earth," Steve reminded her. "This is pretty common, actually." He shrugged a bit.

Leia frowned at the holograms. They looked kind of sort of vaguely familiar in a way she couldn't place. A little bit like deja vu.

"That doesn't explain how it works," Diana replied, waving a hand through the hologram. "Light doesn't just stop moving at a particular point in space, it has to be obstructed, so how does it work?"

"I don't know, I don't make these things." Steve shrugged. "I just know how to use them. Do you know how everything you use works?"

"At least vaguely," Diana replied. "Maybe not specifics, but enough that I can say 'it does this this way.'"

"Ask Tony later, he'll give you more information than you want." Steve shrugged and tapped a few more holo-buttons. The images reduced to headshots, followed by information. "Basically, what you need to know is this family is very rich and very powerful, Thor is going to show up sometime later today, and according to your genetics, you're related. We guessed by Odin, somehow." Another few clicks brought up Odin's DNA and then the girls', off to the side, showing the approximately 50% match.

Diana stared at the hologram, completely dumbfounded.

"You can't be serious," she said. "What do you mean we're related to them? We can't be."

"We're not sure how exactly yet," Steve said with a little shrug. "But the DNA doesn't lie. You two have the same DNA, with an approximate fifty percent match to Odin. So, royalty."

"That can't be right," Diana murmured. She looked at her sister, somewhere between shocked and overwhelmed. "Our parents never mentioned anything like this..."

"Yeah well they also weren't our parents," Leia pointed out. "They did flat-out admit we were adopted, Dee." She was having trouble wrapping her head around it too.

"Even still, it's not like it was a blind adoption, Mom and Dad said our birth mother gave us to them," Diana pointed out in return. Her stomach sank as it all started to sort of make sense, in a twisted kind of way.

"As far as I know, there was never anything said about our biological father," Leia said, her voice lowering to a murmur. "So, technically speaking, it is possible..."

"It's possible that we're half alien?" Diana hissed. "There are tabloids about this kind of thing."

"Technically, you're not alien," Steve pointed out. "You're human. You're just not the only humans. There are lots of other humans, too."

Diana just rubbed her hands over her face, trying to buy herself time to think. This was all just way too bizarre.

Steve didn't push, instead poking his head out into the hallway to see where Bucky was with that food. Best to give the girls time to come to terms with this.

Bucky was already on his way in with some food for the girls. It wasn't gourmet, by any means, but it was protein and vegetables and some starch and it was all edible.

"How'd they take it?" he asked when he saw Steve.

"Still adjusting," Steve said quietly. "Not surprising." His lips quirked. "One was curious about the technology."

"Well, food'll help," Bucky said, heading past Steve. He knocked on the door once, and then went in. "You ladies up for something to eat?"

"That sounds good," Leia said, peering at the tray curiously. "It's all edible, right? Nothing weird on there?"

"I promise it's all edible," Bucky replied, setting down the tray. "It's the best we have right now, until we can stop for more supplies."

Leia looked at him for a moment longer before she moved forward to try a bit. "Not bad," she muttered. "Not quite normal, but not bad."

"Glad you like it," Bucky said, a bit teasingly. He grinned.

Leia snorted quietly at him, shaking her head. There was something still off about him, but she couldn't quite tell what. "So what's the plan for the rest of the day?"
