Thor nodded. "It is indeed, although rare. It is incredible to see for myself."

"So what you're saying," Diana said, skeptical, "is that we're the reincarnation of your grandmother. Both of us."

"That does appear to be the case," Thor agreed with a nod. "I do not believe this has ever happened before, with twins." He looked curious.

"Tony's having a blast trying to figure out the science," Bucky commented.

"Wait, so reincarnation is a thing, and people know about it?" Diana asked. "How does that even make sense?"

"As I have said, it does not happen often, and all the documented cases have been of Royals," Thor said. "Likely because Royals are the only ones with pure enough genetics, and the only ones to notice and care if a Recurrence happens."

"Yeah, still not so sure I'm on board with the whole royalty thing," Diana muttered, her expression turning skeptical again.

"Whyever not?" Thor frowned at them, confused, and unintentionally a little bit kicked-puppy.

"Well, why now?" Diana asked in return. "If we're really royalty, why just leave us behind? Especially if we're special like you all keep saying we are?"

"We did not know," Thor said, shaking his head. "There is no way for us to check for Recurrences unless something happens to bring them to our attention. This is the first I know of you, else I would have come long ago."

That made Diana raise an eyebrow a bit.

"You're implying that we're only of interest because we're, what did you call them, Recurrences?" she said. "So if we weren't, you wouldn't care?"

"If you were not Recurrences, you would still be important," Thor said. "You would have your own lives. But it is doubtful that you would have been brought back here, to the ship. All life is important, though not everyone agrees with me." He scowled briefly. "And I would care if human lives were being poached. Why do you think I help these ones?" He waved a vague hand at Bucky and Steve.

"That's not what I was asking," Diana replied, waving a hand. "I don't care about that right now. What I'm asking is why didn't anyone care that we're apparently royalty before now? Why does it only matter if we're someone's reincarnation?"

"Ah, that," Thor said. "I misunderstood your question. It does not matter that you are a Recurrence, in that respect. Royalty is Royalty. Were you not a Recurrence, you are still part of my family."

"Which brings me back to why now?" Diana asked. "Our mother was abandoned, by your father, apparently, before we were born, and she put us up for adoption. Where was this family then?"

"We did not know," Thor said with a little frown. "My father has never said anything of this planet. And this planet is technically owned by someone else, so I had no reason to even think to look here."

Diana still fumed a bit, but didn't have a response for that. She wasn't just going to let it go, though. She wasn't feeling that forgiving.

"Alright, that's enough for now," Leia interrupted.

"Indeed. There is a lot for you to learn yet, and I do not wish to distress you unnecessarily." Thor shook his head a bit. "I will see you both soon."

Diana just turned away from them, looking out the window. She didn't want to deal with anything else until her anger had a chance to cool down again.

Bucky nudged Thor towards the door.

"Come on," he murmured. "Give them space. Maybe Tony's got some science you can look at while you're here."

Thor nodded and left the room, walking with the other two easily.

Leia moved over next to Diana. "So, what's pissing you off about this?"

"Why are they suddenly interested?" Diana asked after a moment. "Someone had to know we were there. And we were still given up."

Leia shrugged. "Maybe they didn't know," she pointed out reasonably. "He has literally no reason that I can tell to lie to us. And we have no idea if his father knew or not. I mean, for all we know it was a one night stand thing."

"I guess," Diana said reluctantly. "Still, what gives them the right?"

Leia shrugged. "You know, the thing is," she said, still reasonable, "we are royalty, to them at least. As royalty, I don't doubt that once we've heard them out and everything we can order them to turn this thing around and take us home again."

"You tried that," Diana pointed out in return. "They kept refusing."

"Yeah, because they wanted us to meet this Thor guy," Leia said. "We've met him, we're good, so now we should get to go."
