Contessa didn't want to be taken from Sirus, what were they going to do? She couldn't fight though, she was too weak from crying and followed the Father out to the steps with Daylen. She slumped down onto the steps, trembling from shock and from crying so much. "I'm so sorry.." she whispered and looked at Daylen who's clothing was soaked in Sirus' blood. Without thinking, Contessa wrapped her arms around Daylen, hoping to comfort him. She had to be strong right now, she needed to comfort Daylen. She didn't worry about herself, right now what mattered to her was comforting Daylen as best as she could. What about Rosa? She was going to be a wreck when she found out about this, she was going to have to tell her parents too. "It's all my fault.." Contessa whispered as she held Daylen in her arms.

Daylen never looked up from the steps. "No it's not. Think about it." His words were dry as he spoke. "Sirus was dressed like me. My cousin came to the church where we would be married. He may have targeted you first but he would have attacked me as well. Sirus was just an accident." He told her softly. He couldn't feel her hug, he was going numb. "Sirus was just an accident." He repeated in a trembling voice. His body stopped shaking as he spoke. "Sirus didn't want to lose us, he wasn't greedy. That's why he passed up the potion. He made the right decision, he always has." He told her softly. He always called him a moron, dimwit or other names similar but it was far from true. Sirus was always the wisest man he knew.

"They don't like me, I'm a fairy and your cousin spoke of me with disgust, it's crystal clear he hated me." Contessa whispered and didn't care if she was getting any blood on her clothes. Perhaps Daylen was right, but it was still her fault she felt because they clearly hated her kind. "I'm sorry Daylen...I..I should have done something and I didn't." she said quietly. Her head hurt from all the crying and her eyes were red and puffy. No more tears could come out even if she wanted to. Despite Daylen's words, Contessa couldn't shake the guilty feeling from her head. Maybe if she was just like them, none of this would have happened?

Daylen just ignored Contessa. He looked up as he heard people walk up the stairs, his mother was in tears. She ran to him and placed her hand on his shoulder before going into the cathedral. His eyes never leaving the Elders. "Sorry for your lost child, however this act just proves the importance of this marriage. You seek justice, accept our offer of apprenticeship and we'll make sure this act will not go unpunished." Upon hearing his words, Daylen just stood up. His eyes narrowed darkly towards the older men in front of him. "How dare you even suggest such a thing right after my brother's death. His body hasn't even gotten cold and you have the audacity to such such words to me!" His anger just flared as he spoke. Daylen just removed the potion from his vest pocket. The elder men just looked at awe at it. "I'm such a powerful sorcerer you are even willing to disrespect my brother's death with blackmail to get me?" He drank the potion front of them. "Your power source just died with my brother." He spoke calmly to them. They looked at him, shocked that he created the rarest of potions and then in anger tossed all the hard work away. Daylen held his hand out to Contessa. He wanted to leave their company.

Contessa looked up to see Rosa and the Elders. She couldn't believe what the elders were saying, were they serious?! She watched as Rosa left in tears, she couldn't even begin to imagine the pain she was dealing with right now but she wanted to comfort her somehow. You can't make everyone happy all the time the words given to her by her mother when she was much younger came ti her mind. It was true, sometimes crying was the best thing to do in situations like these. Her eyes focused back on Daylen after he had stood up. For a moment, Contessa thought that he might hurt the elders but was surprised by his course of action. He drank the potion! Why? She knew why, it was his way of getting back at them for what had just happened. She assumed it was anyway. Standing, she smiled weakly at him and took his hand, just wanting to leave.

Daylen just lead Contessa to the rose garden where he just sat on a bench in the center of the gazebo. He sighed out of anger and sadness. "I hate those old fools so much." He spoke darkly as he looked at the stone beneath his feet. For the first time in years, Daylen could actually feel the heat inside of him. His pale eyes slowly turning red. He was already starting to change that was surprising him. "Miss Contessa, we might have another problem on our hands." Without warning Daylen grabbed Contessa's hand and quickly walked into the cathedral. "Mother, we have problem." He told his crying mother. She looked at her youngest son with widen eyes. "Daylen, what did you do?!" She looking at her youngest. His skin was starting to burn from the small amount of sun he was getting. "Mom, transport us home. Please." He asked her more as a panicked tone then a request. Rosa just did as he said.
Once home Daylen released Contessa's hand and closed the curtains in a hazed. He actually had to light the candles by hand which made his mother panic all the more. "Daylen di Pavia, you better answer me this instant. What did you do?" She spoke harshly to her youngest. "I attempted the Mutatio potion with Claire's blood and I succeed, both Sirus and Miss Contessa watched. I did it to save Sirus. He refused to take it and died." He told her plainly. "So you took it?" She asked, her anger too great to be proud that he achieved the impossible. "Yes, as a moment of rage. The Elder's blackmailed me that only if I accepted their offer as their apprentice will Sirus' death get justice. So I took the potion." Rosa just sat down in the closest chair, she needed some air. She just lost her oldest son and now her youngest was becoming a vampire. At least when he died he would still be here. "Daylen you fool, you had such a bright future." She held her stomach as she took slow breaths trying to calm down.
(Fixed grammar mistakes, there was too many. Sorry fast post because of crying baby.)

Contessa frowned and nodded, "I know you do Daylen. I understand why...well I think I do. I can't stand to look at them right now." she said softly and squeaked when he suddenly pulled her into the cathedral to speak to his mother who was in tears. Another problem? she thought to herself, wondering what he meant by that exactly. Before she could even realize what was going on, they were back at Daylen's house. Seeing Daylen light the candles by hand was going to get some getting used to. She knew what was happening, he was changing into a vampire and part of her was afraid. She was starting to get used to the sorcerer Daylen and now she had to get used to the vampire Daylen. She listened in silence to what he explained to his mother and nodded in agreement at the sad truth. "R-rosa please don't be upset with him." Contessa started softly. "If you want to be angry with someone, why not be angry with the man who killed Sirus? Be mad at Chris." she muttered quietly. Daylen didn't need his mother lecturing him right now, he was still in a very fragile state.

Rosa just looked at Contessa. "I'm not mad at Daylen. I understand he did it for a reason. It's just a lot to take in right now. Sirus' death is still fresh, my youngest achieved the impossible to save his brother and threw everything he achieve in sorcery away. All because the Elder's and their insensitivity." She looked at Daylen, her tears coming back as she saw the blood on him and Contessa. "I have alchemy and engineering still. I don't know what abilities I'll develop as a vampire but I know they will equal my old." He told his mother softly. He still have a few more days until the change was fully completed, he just was surprised it acted up this fast. "Chris?" Daylen just sighed, he knew the face in his vision but couldn't place the name. "I was really his target, both me and Contessa. That explains the surprised look on his face. He realized it was Sirus and not me." He looked at his mother sadly. "If Sirus didn't stay with me last night when I had my meltdown, he wouldn't have been dressed like me. Chris would have never made his move and Sirus..." His mother cut him off. "No Daylen, neither you or Contessa are at fault here. Chris did this and he will pay." She simply stood up and turned to Contessa. "I do not want my son alone right now, I will send a servant to take you home later." She never smiled before she disappeared. Daylen just looked at the floor. His tears filling his eyes.

Contessa nodded in understanding, Rosa just lost a son she was going through a lot right now. Something told her no one would be sleeping this night, perhaps she could take a moonlight stroll through the town to ease her nerves? She didn't think her parents would let her out at such a late hour though. "Yes Chris. That is the name that Sirus said when he saw his cousin." Contessa explained and looked down at the blood on her clothes, her parents were going to ask about that and she'd have to explain. "I won't leave him alone, I promise Rosa." she assured and looked at Daylen when she was gone. Her arms wrapped around him in a hug, she didn't care if he didn't like hugs, she was here to comfort him in his time of need. In both good times and bad times she thought to herself and frowned as she rested her head on his shoulder. "It's okay Daylen, go ahead and cry, it's okay." she whispered soothingly.

Daylen just moved away from Contessa, shaking his head lightly. "Now is not the time to touch me Miss Contessa." He moved across the table from her. They were in a entertaining room, only the few candles filled the room with a dim light. He sighed and went to the fireplace to light a fire. Slowly he got one going to fill the room with more light. "What will you do now Miss Contessa? I highly doubt the Elder's will be so demanding on this marriage now that I killed their dream of a di Pavia taking over as an Elder." He was curious but at the same time trying to take his mind off the pain of losing his brother and condemning himself into eternal youth. "Will you still marry me knowing that there is a risk of me draining you dry?" He just looked at her plainly. "You will only be able to see me in the dark or at night." He told her softly, he was curious as to what she would say.

Contessa pouted and sighed softly. She wanted to comfort him, how could she do so without hugging him? "I'm sorry Daylen. I wanted to comfort you is all. I won't do it again." she answered softly and looked at him sadly as he spoke. It was true, the elders seemed to only want this marriage to happen so that Daylen could become an apprentice of theirs. Now that it was obvious that it wasn't going to happen, they probably didn't care if the wedding went through or not. "Daylen di Pavia, of course I will! Why shouldn't I?" she asked and hugged herself sadly. "I don't know if you still want to, but you and I have been getting to know one another these past weeks. I have grown very fond of you, whether you believe me or not. You and I worked together, we cleaned together, I made you cupcakes, we danced, we prepared for this wedding. You have been very kind to me. I do not mind not being able to see you throughout my day. I guess I'll just have to visit you much later then, perhaps now you will be able to get some sleep?" she asked, trying to lighten the mood but knew she was failing miserably. "If you do not wish to go through with this, then I understand. I will not force you to go along with something if you don't want to." she explained.

Daylen just shook his head lightly. "I like your hugs." He said softly. "I don't want to hurt you when the blood lust comes in, that is all. I treated enough vampires to know what they're capable of." He told her plainly. He just sat down in the chair across the table from her, he was stuck in this room until the sun went down. The sensitive skin seemed to be the first thing vampires attained. He just smiled softly as she said his name and the following words. "No, I do want this marriage. I have grown fond of you as well Miss Contessa. However I can honestly say that I am not looking forward to watching you grow older and eventually die." He paused for a moment, he folding his arms over his chest. "I do know that the time I have spent with you is something I will risk that pain for." He told her softly. "So we I guess we're in agreement. Also it seems so, I should get sleep. Until the children after all I did find a way to dull my pyrokinesis." He told her reminding her of their deal.

He likes my hugs! Contessa thought to herself and mentally squealed. "What will you do when it does come in? You have to sate it somehow." she commented and then thought of something, he'd probably go over to Miss Claire. Ah yes, since he was a vampire now he had eternal life and she would eventually die. Death was inevitable though, unless you were a vampire that is."Well I am not looking forward to that either but I'll cross that bridge when I get there." Contessa answered honestly and smiled. It was nice having a small conversation with him, no matter what the subject was. A gasp escaped her lips when he mentioned the children, so he really didn't mind having children with her? Was he being serious?! "Y-You really want to have c-children with me Daylen?" she asked, really surprised. She knew they had a deal, but she still didn't think he'd want children. This seemed like a terrible price to pay just to have a family of her own with him.

Daylen just weakly smiled. "I can make tonics that can satisfy the hungry. I make them all the time for Saria and Miss Claire." He just looked at the dark room. The fire in the fireplace lit it up greatly but it was still dark. He would have to change things around here so he could let in light and not get burned. "A tonic a week should keep it a bay." He told her softly. He just looked at her plainly, a habit he might ever get out of. "Of course I do, I told you that before. I won't have my pyrokinesis. My fear of that is gone. I'm still afraid I'll hurt them for another reason now but it's safer than my previous one." He went from one monster role to another. Even though he did, he was willing to suffer for eternity just to spite they Elder's. His mind went to Sirus', he wanted him to name a son after him. His eyes began to tear from the thought of his brother however it was not a tear that left his eye but small droplet of blood. He noticed it when he wiped it away. He took out his handkerchief but it was covered in Sirus' blood. He sighed softly and placed the handkerchief back up. Daylen just scratched his head. He was still soaked in his twin's blood.

Contessa sat down on the floor and watched him, a weak smile on her face. She had to restrain herself from heading over to him and hugging him. He didn't want hugs right now, and she had to respect his choice. "I know...I just wanted to be sure. We...we don't have to if you don't want to, but if you do then we can. B-But please don't think of yourself as any sort of monster because you are not a monster okay?" she said, her voice cracking as she spoke. "You are a good person, and you deserve only good things Daylen. I know...I know you probably don't want to hear these things but I am going to say them anyway." she whispered loud enough for him to hear. "I don't see you as a monster, and whoever does doesn't know you then. They don't know the kind person you really are. You may think that no one cares about you, but your brother cared a lot, and your mother does too. Saria cares, and so does Miss Claire. So do I. I know I'm not family but it doesn't matter. I believe that you won't hurt people, you wouldn't hurt a fly and if you hurt someone, accidents happen...it's okay." she continued and sighed softly, wiping her tears with the back of her hand.

Daylen just looked at her, he didn't want to start that conversation again. "Before Sirus died, he gave you my journal didn't he?" That was the only way people knew he felt that he was a monster, by reading it. "Ever hear of the Mirror of Reflection? It tells people the real you, the one you hide from the world. Hialus di Pavia created it, it's in my study. Do you really want me to show you what I think of myself, trust me when I say 'monster' is kind compared to my thoughts now." He told her warningly. "I know I have people that care for me, I locked myself away to protect them. I did everything I could to stop from hurting them and yet they still get hurt because of me! Sirus is dead because I couldn't save him, I couldn't force myself to make him take the potion!" His blood like tears ran down his face, he didn't meant to lose his temper over her words. Daylen just stood up and walked to the other side of the room, further into the darkness. He retreated out of habit. He was facing the wall as his hand rub his face is frustration more at himself then at Contessa. He was having trouble keeping his emotionless expression like he always had. He just took and deep breath before apologizing for losing his temper.

"He only gave me a small paragraph excerpt." she answered honestly and shook her head. "No I have not." Contessa started and flinched when he rose his voice, even she retreated farther away from him and hugged her knees to her chest. "I'm sorry...I won't say anything then. I was only trying to cheer you up but it's obvious I can't do that." she explained and shook her head, "Don't apologize. I said too much. I need to keep quite, speak only when spoken to." she answered and watched him from the corner of the dark room that she sat in. Her eyes had adjusted to the dark, but the fireplace and candles helped. Part of her wondered if he wanted her to leave. She wasn't going to leave him alone, not until the servant was here to take her home, and even then she'd ask him if he wanted her to stay longer. He needed her right now more than ever, the only problem was that she didn't know what to do or say to make him feel better. Talking like she did only upset him more. Just be quiet and listen to him, speak only when he speaks to you! her conscious scolded her.

"No." He simply told Contessa. "I need to keep my emotions in line better." Daylen stood straight and left the room, not caring that the sunlight was burning his now sensitive skin as he walked down the hallway to his study. Spots of his skin were barely burnt but stung with a great amount of pain. Once inside of his study, he closed the drapes. Sealing the light out. He lit more candles filling the room with their glow. He sat on the floor in front of his desk, taking the bottle out of his pocket that once held the potion created to save his twin. His knees bent, his forearms resting of them as he moved the bottle in his hand. He sighed and threw the bottle against the wall shattering it. It was a good thing he was no longer going to be a sorcerer for much longer, he was never good at being one. He couldn't even save his family.

Contessa's eyes widened as he stood and walked out. "D-daylen wait!" she called out and quickly stood up, running after him. He couldn't be walking around like this, he was really sensitive right now. Contessa stopped in the middle of the hall, wondering that it was probably better he had some alone time even though Rosa didn't want her to leave him alone. She just sat against the wall, giving him some space and frowned when she heard a glass shatter. He's really upset...and he has reason to be but why won't he...oh right, he doesn't want to hurt me. But I don't care though! But he does, and it's best not to push his buttons. Especially not right now. she thought to herself and sighed softly. It occurred to her that she hadn't checked on her flowers all day today, she'd check on them before she left probably. Right now Daylen was what mattered, he always mattered.

Daylen just rested his head in his hands, his fingers in his hair. He wondered how long it would take to fully change into a vampire. Mostly he wondered when he would have to bury his brother. He closed his eyes letting the bloody tears fall. He didn't want to bury his brother at all but he needed to, he would at least spare his mother that pain. However he would have to get ahold of his emotions better, without the power of pyrokinesis they seemed to be running free. Making things a lot harder for him. He inhaled deeply, trying to calm himself but couldn't. Daylen just stood up and went to his cabinet, he searched through all the bottles. He had something to calm his nerves. He finally found the bottle. Uncorking it, he just drank the purple liquid. It tasted horrible but it would soon calm him to the point he could at least do something to remove his mind from the pain in his heart.

Contessa yawned softly and realized that little no name was nowhere to be seen! "Oh dear...oh no where did I leave him?!" she asked herself and stood up, quickly running all over the house looking for him and panicking. She looked in the ball room and saw nothing. Trying to remember where else she had been, she remembered the Cathedral and Daylen's room. Hoping he wasn't in the Cathedral, she walked into Daylen's room and let out a sigh of relief, seeing no name looking around for her and crying. "Oh I'm so sorry little no name, a lot is going on right now." Contessa explained and picked up the little animal, placing him in his crate with the eyedropper and quickly left to check on Daylen. She hesitated before peaking into the room and saw that Daylen was crying. Her heart sank when she saw him. "W-would you like ti be alone right now Daylen?" she asked quietly from the doorway of his study.

Daylen just set down the empty bottle on his desk and sighed softly hearing Contessa's voice. "I'll be fine soon. You can stay in here if you want." He spoke softly to her. He could feel the tonic starting to work, his emotions were dying down. He just went to the book with the switch and pressed it. Slowly the bookshelf in the corner began to move, revealing his vault. He just wanted to flip through his grimoire one more time before the pages turned blank waiting for the next sorcerer or sorceress to claim it as theirs. He walked over to the book, the crystals were dimming slowly. Once he was fully turned they would be purely black. He traced the jewel that his brother previously trace before his death and sighed lightly. "Sirus, you always did confuse me. How can someone be so dimwitted and wise at the same time?" He questioned to no one. The potion was now completely working it's magic on Daylen. His expression was emotionless as ever.

Contessa frowned as she continued watching him and pet no name to keep him from crying out. All she could do was be quiet at this point, she couldn't really say anything. Daylen needed some time and space to himself, and she would give him that but she would also visit to keep him company, even if they didn't talk at all it was okay. Maybe her company alone was cheering him up more than anything she could say or do would. No matter what though, she'd be here for Daylen and she would take care of him to the best of her ability. The look on Daylen's face was one she was familiar with, expressionless. Once again she wouldn't know if he was upset. At least when he had his powers he could tell just by the weather, but now not even that would help her. I'm sure something will give it away sometime. Right now he's deeply depressed, hurt, he's in a very fragile state and soon he's going to need to drink some blood and it won't be mine. But if he asked me, would I let him? Of course I would, I wouldn't care that it hurt because I would be helping him and that would make him happy right? she thought to herself as she internally debated with herself like she usually did when she allowed herself to think too much.

Daylen just flipped through the pages, all the spells were fading from view. Even with all the spells and potions only one could have saved his brother. Daylen just rubbed his forehead lightly, it was pounding loudly with each of her words. He could hear Contessa's voice clearly. "Perhaps Miss Contessa that conversation should be placed in your head." He told her softly as he set his hand back on the page. "However you can be at ease, I will not ask for your blood." He didn't even address the fact on how she saw him right now. She was right, Daylen was fragile, he was in pain and deeply depressed. He had to take a tonic to calm his emotions. The same one tonic he had to use as a child to stop from burning down the house.

Contessa looked at Daylen, surprised by his words. How did he know she was thinking that? "You...you can read my mind now?" she asked. That was so cool she had to admit, but he didn't seem pleased about it. "Daylen don't worry, if you ever asked me, I wouldn't say no. I just want to help you in any way I can..." she said quietly. Although the best way to help right now was probably to be quiet and stand where she stood at the doorway with the small crate in her hands. She was going to do her best not to think anything either since she didn't want to annoy him with her thoughts. Looking down at her little pet, she smiled and ran her fingers through its soft fur, glancing at Daylen worriedly. She didn't like seeing him like this.
