Daylen just nodded. He really believed that was the case. "I haven't found anyone who likes him. I assume it's true based on the logic I been provided with." He simply told her. He was scanning the photos and notes as he spoke. His thoughts were interrupted when she asked him the question regarding Raymon. Turning his attention to her, he smiled softly. "Raymon was out of town at the time. He was attending a engineering meeting for me. I never tend to my customers personally. Sirus or Raymon always did that part due to my abilities. It was safer at the time, now the reason changed. However I'm still a danger to them but for a different reason." He smiled at her softly. Also it was safer for himself as well. There were vampire hunters like in the stories though not all of them were human. "The danger is equal on both parts. Now that I'm a vampire I have a target on me. Vampire hunters are real, though their not just limited to killing vampires. All mythical beings are at risk with them. There are exceptions such as immortals like Raymon. He has no magic or special abilities. If seriously wounded he can die if his body can not recover. They tend to leave them alone, they're not a danger to anyone. Some mythical beings that show no threat are safe from them as well." Daylen just turned his attention back to his research. Barely anything stuck out to him.

Contessa felt bad, she knew she was interrupting his work with each question. The smile on his face though told her he wasn't upset, which in turn made her smile. "Oh I see." she answered softly. "I understand, it makes sense." she commented and smiled. Daylen was doing everything in order for everyone to be safe, she would do the same things too if she were in his shoes. So Raymon and Sirus had helped him all the time and now it was her turn. She was pretty excited actually. Contessa didn't think that she had to go to out of town meetings but if she had to she would, even though she really didn't want to leave Daylen alone. When Daylen mentioned hunters, her eyes widened. Perhaps it was best not to go out so late after all, the hunters probably walked around at night. Even though she didn't have wings, she was still a fairy and the hunters would probably now that if they spotted her. Better her than Daylen though, she didn't want anyone to hurt him

Daylen took a pen from his vest and began to write a few things down on his notes. "Not to scare you but there are some hunters that kill anything, even humans. Their minds get corrupted with violence to the point they can't tell anymore who is human from mythical. I had a chance to study one that went crazed. I couldn't cure him. I tried but his mind was far too gone by the time the doctors sought my help." He had the records still, well somewhere. Perhaps in the basement with all the other old records. "My tonics can heal physical damage. Damage from diseases, from battle, anything really. They can not cure diseases just the damaged caused from them, slowing the process which if you think about it. They cause them to suffer longer but gives them more time with their love ones." Daylen stopped writing and looked at Contessa. "I can not heal the mind as well. I believe if I can isolate the healing racial ability from Vampiric blood and replicate it into my healing tonics. I can change that. Could put an end to all diseases, both mental and physical." He told her softly. It was this other project he was working on. The two tonics were his top project at the moment.

Chills ran through her body at his words that she actually shivered. "R-really?" she asked and frowned. That sounded horrible. It sounded like the hunters were just victims of something which caused them to be this way, it was saddening really but that didn't give them the right to go ahead and kill everything they saw. Still, if they couldn't control themselves then she supposed she couldn't be too mad at them. "How sad. I wonder why they become hunters in the first place. Perhaps life events caused them to turn to hunting whatever harmed their family? It would make the most sense no?" Contessa suggested and rubbed her eyes with her good hand gently. "Daylen, you help out a lot of people with what you do, it's understandable that you can't help everyone and there is nothing wrong with that." Contessa started. "I do think that having a tonic that will end all diseases will be very helpful. It won't be easy, but I believe in you Daylen and I know you can do it." she informed happily.

Daylen just nodded. Crazed hunters were vile things. Worse than the beings they set out to kill. "The one I studied killed even fellow hunters. He killed several nurses and doctors, eventually they had to punish him. He was executed a week after I left the case." He told her softly. He turned towards his notes. Reading what he just wrote, he might have found the ability the problem was testing and replicating it. "I never understood that hunter. He didn't seem to have any reason except a lust for killing. Perhaps if we run into one of the good hunters we can ask in person." He told her in his soft tone. Though those hunters were extremely rare. Most just killed you on the spot, even with his title and being well known for his deeds. Daylen was a target. He softly sighed and set down his book after closing it. He walked over to his cabinet and took out the sleeping tonic. Walking over he placed the tonic into her hand. "You should sleep. We can always talk after you're well rested." He told her softly. He could sleep her tiredness building in her eyes, rubbing them didn't help.

"Oh my goodness!" Contessa gasped, eyes wide and hand over her mouth. "They k-killed him?" she asked and shook her head. The thought of someone killing someone else was one she never wanted to witness. "They did what they have to do and I understand that. After all that he did, it was the best choice they had." she admitted softly with a nod of her head. Good hunters? That sounded like something that didn't exist judging from what he had told her. "Are you sure that's a good idea Daylen? How would we know who is good or bad?" she asked and placed her hands at her hips. "By the time we open our mouths to speak, BAM! We'll fall dead." she explained and raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure that's a risk we should take?" Contessa asked honestly. Personally, she thought it was best to stay as far away from them as possible. A look of confusion crossed her face when Daylen handed her the familiar looking sleep tonic. "Daylen..." she started and frowned. What about you?" she asked as she accepted the tonic handed to her.

Daylen just nodded. They executed the hunter quickly, made it less painful as possible. It was the safest route, if they hadn't his death total would just keep growing by the day. "They executed him as painless as possible." He told her softly. He personally agreed with the choice they made, though he was a witness to a nurse being killed by the hunter and was bais. A soft smiled came to his face. He couldn't help but chuckled lightly at her comment. "There are ways to tell a good hunter from the bad ones. Good ones normally talk to you while the bad ones just try and stab you first thing." Sad part was Daylen wasn't really joking. They did just attack whatever being they felt was a threat. The soft smile never left his face as Contessa frowned. "What about me Miss Contessa? I can always work on isolating the gene, work on the sunscreen. Or would you rather me join in taking a nap?" He asked her curiously. He was fine with any of the choices really. Though he would have to take a tonic to sleep as well.

"Well at least it was quickly done." Contessa muttered. Sure he was a cruel person, but no one deserved to suffer even if they themselves made others suffer. She was about to ask him why the chuckle but he answered her unsaid question. "They do?" she repeated and frowned. "Well that's very reassuring." she said and looked at him with a serious look on her face. "If you do want to speak to a hunter, I want to be there too...just incase." she commented and pointed to her eyes. "Now that I have both eyes, I can petrify things. Well only when I'm really angry actually. If I'm too scared I'll probably just teleport and get lost." she explained and sighed softly, shaking her head even though a light blush came to her face. "No it's alright. I wouldn't want to keep you from your work. Just don't overwork yourself okay?" she suggested and gave him a tired smile. "I'll go rest now, but wake me if you need anything okay?" she ordered softly and walked over to the crate, placing the tonic and book inside carefully and gently picking it up. She'd just have little no name keep her company, no problem.

Daylen just nodded. You could easily tell the crazed hunters from the sane ones. However the ones just starting to turn crazed were hard to pick out. He smiled at her words. He was new to being a vampire but he still had his sword training and knew how to use two of three abilities. Daylen was actually interested to hear about her ability of petrifying. Fairies didn't generally have that ability. "Interesting. I never knew anyone of your race gaining that ability." He smiled softly. Contessa would probably get lost. Hunter's were very scary beings. Daylen was snapped from thoughts when she began to speak again. He honestly didn't mind if she wanted him to join her in a nap. "It's more researching and experimentation than actual work." He told her softly. Daylen just nodded as a reply. Raymon should be back anytime so he would just wait for him, letting her rest if he needed something.

Contessa chuckled, "Well I think I got it from my ancestors since my mum and dad don't have that power. Not that I know of anyway." she said quietly and smiled tiredly. "That is why you wouldn't like me when I'm mad. Though it takes a lot to get me that mad so it's okay." she commented softly while brushing some hair away from her face. Petrification wasn't an ability she enjoyed, but she supposed it was good in some occasion. "I once petrified a tree, it's rather funny now that I think about it. I was younger then, but I don't remember what upset me so much causing me to do that." she informed simply. Nodding at his words, Contessa smiled. "I understand. Just don't hurt yourself Daylen. I'll go get some rest now, I'll talk to you again soon." she said and yawned softly as she walked out of the study and closed the door behind her. Why was she so tired? "I didn't get enough sleep that's all." she said to herself and headed back to their room where she removed her shoes and placed them at the end of the bed then placed no name on the bed with her after taking him out of his crate. "Let's get some rest." she whispered to him and took the tonic before getting comfortable and setting the empty bottle on the nightstand.

Daylen just listened to Contessa, he would wish her a good rest but she had left before he could. The tonic she had taken with her would insure that she got all the rest her body needed. He turned his attention back to his notes. A few more test with the gene that might contain the healing properties of a vampire. If proved correct, it might just make the world of medicine allot better. First thing first, he needed to separate the properties. With that in mind he set off on his work. He drank the substitute from time to time. His old equip was removed from his old study into here while his finished inventions were stored in there. Daylen yawned after several hours had passed. It was more from natural reaction then from being tired, though his mind was turning into mush from all the constant thinking. He was close to separating the gene fully, just needed a little bit more time and focus. Raymon had returned and sat in the study for a little. He was helping Daylen with as much as possible, though he still had other duties to attend to.

Contessa slept soundly for what seemed like only a couple hours. When she finally woke up, she was pretty sure that she had slept for more than just a couple hours. Surprisingly, she felt a lot better. She didn't feel tired anymore. "That tonic works extremely well." She said to herself and got out of bed, smoothing out the sheets and blanket afterwards. Looking into the mirror, she noticed how horrible her hair was, extremely tangled. "Oh dear..." Contessa groaned and began to brush out her curls, wincing every now and then when she pulled at a knot. This was the problem with curly hair, and she wasn't the only one. Her mother had curly hair too and Carolyn had loose curls. When she finished brushing out the knots, Contessa wet her hair with a small water spray bottle and started to easily bush out her hair. She always spent hours brushing her hair to keep it as soft as it was.

Shaking the house violently, a large explosion sounded from Daylen's storage in the pantry. Both Raymon and Daylen had been caught in the middle of the blast. When the smoke began to settle Daylen glared at Raymon. "What the hell Raymon?!" He hissed darkly, his eyes glowed red with his anger. "Sorry, I accidently dropped the night moss on the Faerie petals. My badness." He spoke calmly. He dusted himself off lightly. Daylen wanted to reply to his butlers comment but decided against. Of course it was his 'badness', he just blew up the storage room of tonics and ingredients. He would have to rebuild the room, everything around thing and filled the storage up again. It was then Raymon just realized that Daylen had taken most of the blast, he had shielded him. His skin was charred, his clothes tattered. He was hurt really badly, Daylen's abdomen was bleeding. His blood was pouring from his wound he had gotten from the wood piece that tried to passed right through stomach. Luckily he was a vampire or he would have been killed.

Contessa heard the explosion and screamed in surprise. Quickly, she placed no name in his crate and picked it up before running over towards the sound. She had forgotten to put on her shoes so she almost slid on the tile floor due to her socks. When she got there, her eyes went wide; "W-what happened here?! Oh my goodness are you two okay?!" She asked worriedly as she approached both men. Her eyes looked around the place that was now completely destroyed, what could have caused this to happen? When she looked both men over a gasp escaped her lips noticing the wound Daylen had. "Daylen you need to stand absolutely still. I'll do my best to tend that wound." She said and frowned, setting the crate down and looking at the wound closely. She needed to stop the bleeding and fast, she needed to clean it out soon. "Where can I find a first aid kit, antibiotics, and that sort of stuff?" Contessa asked calmly but decided she didn't have time to go look for that right now. Looking down at her dress, she tore off the sleeves as fast as she could then tore them again vertically to make them wider before carefully starting to pull out the wood piece in his abdomen.

Both Daylen and Raymon looked at Contessa. "It was my fault Miss Contessa. I dropped the Night moss on the Faerie petals abstract." He told her in his sweet tone. Raymon just limped into the kitchen to retrieve the first aid kit. After removing it from the cabinet, he returned. Before Daylen could say anything, Contessa was ripping her dress. Daylen just sighed lightly before removing her hand from the wood piece. It was extremely painful but he dealt with worse. Daylen just ripped out the piece quickly and tossed it aside. He was pretty weak from the lost of blood and that alone took allot of energy. "Miss Contessa, Master Daylen will be fine. He'll just needs to rest and drink some blood." Raymon said looking at her softly. Daylen just held his abdomen as he nodded. "Unfortunately I'll need actual blood over the fake." He just glared at Raymon, his eyes glowing red still. Raymon just smiled weakly. "I am sorry Master Daylen. We'll get you to bed and you can drink from me again." He really was sorry. His blood would help Daylen heal since he caused the wound.

"Accidents happen." Was all Contessa said before looking at Daylen when he removed the piece of wood himself. "If you didn't need my help you could have said so." she muttered to him before turning to look at Raymon. "At least someone can take care of him, but you need your rest too Raymon. You may not be bleeding like he is, but you're still hurt." she informed and picked up the crate easily after placing the torn sleeves inside. "Don't worry about the dress, I can fix it. I'm sure I still have some threads and needles in my suitcase." she explained softly. Even when Daylen needed the help, he pretended that he didn't and she particularly like it but she didn't mind it too much. At least he let Raymon help him. "Let's get you to bed then Daylen." Contessa suggested quietly.

Daylen just shook his head lightly in defence. "I did not mean it like that Miss Contessa." He winced slightly from the shooting pain as he adjusted himself so he could stand. "Pulling it out slowly just dragged out the pain." He told her softly, hoping she would understand. He actually wouldn't mind her help. Raymon kind of irritated him with blowing up the pantry, though it was a accident. However he did warn him to be careful so that wouldn't happen. "I agree with Miss Contessa, you need to rest." Daylen told Raymon standing up, course with his help. "In the morning, we can call to get this place cleaned up and repaired." He told his butler. Raymon just smiled sweetly and helped Daylen to Contessa's and his room. Sitting him down on the bed, Daylen just shooed his butler away. "Stop harassing me and go rest Raymon." He told him softly, forcing his butler out. He would be fine just would take longer to heal without blood. Once he was free of Raymon's harassment Daylen just tried to make his way to the bathroom so he could clean up. He stopped at the bathroom door, he was getting weaker by the second. Though he really needed to care for the wound.

Contessa raised her metal hand and shook her head. "Daylen please, you need to rest." she said simply and helped guide them both to the bedroom where she set the crate down at the end of the bed and walked to the closet once she made sure Daylen was sitting down. Looking at Raymon, she smiled softly and nodded when Daylen shooed him away. "You need to rest Raymon, don't worry about the mess. It will be cleaned soon enough." she assured and opened the closet door, sitting on the floor next to her suitcase then opening it up and pulling out a somewhat small clear plastic box filled with threads of many colors. Contessa set that box to the side and closed her suitcase, putting it back to the side. Standing, she walked over to the crate and pulled out the dress sleeves. She was going to have to change her clothes to fix this. Looking up, she noticed Daylen was walking to the bathroom and tilted her head to the side. "Do you need any help Daylen?" she asked.

Resting his hand on the door frame to keep his balance while the other covered his wound, he nodded slightly. He probably would need the help, well actually he would. He didn't have the energy to clean the wound or change his clothes. Though he would manage somehow by himself with the clothes. His vision was starting to faded into a blur the longer he stood. He was still bleeding softly, he could feel the coldness of his blood running down his skin. Before he knew it, Daylen was on the floor. He was laying on his back staring towards the ceiling. The sudden impacted cause the wound to fully reopen. His eyes were heavy, the world around him was pitch black. He was fighting consciousness. "The wound was more fatal than I thought..." He whispered softly. Even if he stayed on the bed, the outcome would have been the same.

Contessa's eyes widened as she saw him hit the floor, "Daylen?!" She cried and quickly was kneeling beside him on the floor. "Daylen stay with me okay? You don't have to say anything, just stay with me." She instructed. Contessa was panicking but right now she had to try and stay calm or as calm as she could. Looking at the dress sleeves, she carefully pressed them against the wound to try to get the blood to stop. She was no nurse, she didn't have any healing abilities but she was doing her best. It was all common sense right? Contessa didn't care that her hands were stained with blood, she's have to clean all this up later. Opening the first aid kit with her metal hand, Contessa pulled out alcohol wipes and cleaned up around the opened wound. Placing that to the side, she focused on the wound itself. "I think the bleeding has stopped." She informed and sighed softly. All that was left to do was close up the wound and he the gauze and band aids. "Almost done." She said softly as she looked around in the first aid kit for a needle and some thread.

Daylen could hear Contessa, hear the panic in her voice. His body was very low on blood, that was probably why the wound stopped bleeding as much. His body was numb from the pain. He found it creepy that he could hear her heartbeat. He guessed this was slightly what it was like to suffer from not tending to the craving. Enhanced hearing, being able to hear the blood pulsing through veins with beat beat. The hunger, the mind fogging hunger. "Contessa..." He whispered softly, though he couldn't see her. "I need blood or I can't heal." His eyes were closing, sleep beckoned him. He needed to stay awake long enough is drink something. "Raymon stocked the refrigerator..." His voice was slowly fading with every word. His mind was starting to fog more as he laid on the floor. Daylen just hoped he could stayed awake long enough for her to go get some of the substitute blood. It wouldn't have the same effect as normal blood but it was better than bleeding on the floor.

Contessa couldn't find a needle or any thread, perhaps she wasn't looking good enough? "Yes?" She asked, hearing Daylen speak. She turned to look at him and blinked, "Hey, stay awake Daylen. You can't fall to sleep yet." She explained and frowned. He wanted substitute blood? But he said he needed real blood. "You said you needed real blood Daylen." She reminded. Raymon couldn't give Daylen blood right now though, he needed some rest so it was up to her. "Have some of my blood. Raymond can't give you blood right now and you said you needed real blood to heal this sort of damage. I know you don't want to hurt or scare me but it's okay, I want to help. If you really want the fake blood though I'll run and get it now then." She commented. She was pretty sure right now was not the best time to discuss with him though. Standing, she ran off to the kitchen and slid along the tiled floor causing her to almost fall. Reaching the kitchen, Contessa opened the fridge and pulled out a container filled with the substitute blood and quickly headed back to their room and into the bathroom where she knelt on the floor and helped him sit up so that he could drink. "Here you go Daylen. Drink it all." She instructed.

Her voice fading in and out as he fought the darkness that was taunting him so fiercely. Yes, real blood would be the best for his wound but substitute blood could sustain him until Raymon could give him some of his. However he was in no position to refuse her offer, he would have agreed but she ran off to the kitchen. By the time Contessa returned with the substitute blood, he had slipped into unconsciousness. His body was colder than normal for his race. Daylen had tried to stay awake as long as possible but in the end, he succumbed. His body couldn't heal quickly enough, causing him to slip into a light hibernation like state.

"Daylen? Hey come on you need to drink this!" she repeated and put the glass down before gently tapping his cheek. "Daylen don't play with me like this it's not funny you know!" she cried and started to panic. Did he die? No, vampires couldn't die since they were already dead. Thinking fast, she reached into the first aid kit and pulled out a packet with an alcohol wipe inside. Tearing it open with her teeth while holding Daylen up with one arm, she struggled a bit but managed to pull out the small wipe and rub his nose with it in hopes that it would help bring him back from his unconscious state. It usually helped, but if it didn't help she'd just have to figure something else out.

Daylen's body never reacted to the tapping on his face or the alcohol wipe that rubbed his nose. He could feel the contact from each action but nothing stirred within him. His mind was awake, he was listening to her. It was as if he was trapped inside of himself. Darkness floated around him with every word. Even though his mind was conscious, he couldn't speak not even with his mind. He couldn't move. Slowly his breathing came to a slowed even breathe, barely even noticeable. His body would remain in this state until he was fully healed. Daylen was unsure of what to do. All he knew was that he needed blood to heal. He never imaged his body would automatically shut itself down to heal.
