Contessa finished up her soup and set the dishes in the sink before starting to wash them all in silence. When she was done, she placed them in the rack to dry and dried her hands then made her way towards their room. She didn't hear anything so she was assuming that Daylen had fallen to sleep which made her happy. However, when she stepped and saw him up she was surprised and felt that she was probably interrupting him somehow. Contessa didn't say anything, she only walked over to the crate at the foot of the bed and picked up no name and the eyedropper then left to the kitchen after closing the bedroom door behind her. In the kitchen, she filled a bowl with milk and warmed it up before moving it to the table and sitting down with no name in her arms. "I'm sure you're hungry aren't you?" she whispered quietly. She was staring to get a little tired so after she finished this she decided it would be best to get some sleep since tomorrow was going to be a busy day, she just hoped that Daylen would be in a better mood tomorrow.

Daylen heard Contessa walk into the room but they never said anything to each other. She came got her pet and left. He just sighed lightly before he started to write again. In great detail he began to right the symptoms of the craving. The pains, the feeling of complete starvation, the aching teeth even down to the shaking hands. He finished and placed the book in his nightstand drawer before laying back down. He covered a yawning as he layed there in the silence of the room. Once more Daylen covered himself with the blanket were slowly he drifted off to sleep. However his dreams were not peaceful. Everything that weighed on his mind had twisted into nightmares. He tossed and turned in his sleep, sweating from the nightmares. Never waking up as one drifted into another, each worse than the last.

When the milk was all finished, Contessa made sure that the bowl and dropper were washed before he left with no name back to their room where she noticed Daylen had gotten in bed and had actually fallen to sleep. She didn't want to disturb him, so as quietly as she could she set the eyedropper on her bedside table and sat on the floor with no name on her lap. She decided to keep an eye on Daylen while he slept and opened her suitcase and looked through the things she had in there, like the photo of when Daylen and Sirus were still very little and Daylen looked so miserable. It still tugged at her heart strings when she saw it. She still had the empty tonic bottle that Daylen had given her for her eye and the box with the rings. Opening it, the rings were still inside. Contessa even had some wedding photos that she never had the chance to look at and she wasn't sure she wanted to, she wasn't in the happiest of moods right now and it was obvious that neither was Daylen. Still, she opened up the envelope and let the photos fall out into her suitcase. Looking through them, she smiled a sad smile. Everyone looked so happy there, but here in her new home no one ever really looked happy...well except for Raymon.

Movement startled her from her thoughts and she looked over at Daylen to see that he kept tossing and turning. Quickly, she dropped the photos on the floor and held no name before setting him down in his crate and climbing into bed beside Daylen, shaking him in hopes that he would wake up. "Daylen?" she said worried and shook him gently. "Daylen wake up!" she cried out and frowned, what could be causing him to act this way? Was he having another vision? "Daylen please wake up!" she said worriedly and hoped she wasn't being too loud to disturb Daniel.

Daylen just snapped awake after feeling someone shake him in his sleep. He was breathing heavily. He sighed lightly seeing it was Contessa that woke him up. His eyes were glowing red, his fangs were slightly longer than when they first appeared while he changed. He was covered in a slightly mist of sweat. He was relieved to see it was her. He rolled over to her and wrapped his arms around her, resting his head on her as a child would. He didn't want to be alone right now. "What am I..." He spoke softly. "I'm not a sorcerer, I'm not a vampire..." His eyes were filling with tears. He was scared, he didn't care if she saw him like this. He couldn't figure out what was wrong with him, why he was getting worse on a daily basis. He hid his face trying to forget the nightmares he just had. For the first time, he didn't know the answers. That scared him, not as much as the thought of hurting his family, hurting Contessa.

Contessa was very confused when he finally woke up, his eyes were red and his fangs were longer it seemed. He needed to drink blood probably but she didn't want to leave him alone either. Before she could do or say anything, Daylen had his arms wrapped around her causing her to blush brightly. Contessa smiled and ran her fingers through his hair soothingly as she listened to him speak, "I think you are a wonderful and handsome husband Daylen." she replied softly and wrapped her arms around him, holding him closely in her arms. She didn't know what to do or say, but she did know that she was going to be by his side at all times because of this, it pained her to see him frightened like this. "Do you want to talk about it Daylen? Or would you prefer just to stay like this?" she asked quietly as she continued to run her fingers through his hair soothingly in hopes of helping him relax. Contessa was always told that talking about things that frightened you was a good idea but there were people that preferred not to say anything and just try to relax. It didn't matter to her what they did, she was just happy to help him out however she could.

It felt odd when Contessa started to run her fingers through his hair, but it was strangely relaxing. He smiled weakly at her comment. He doubted he was a good husband, they only been married for a few days but he still felt like he messed those days up. He hid things from her about his change, about the thirst and others things. He just closed his eyes as she continued to run her fingers through his hair again after hugging him. He sighed softly. "I do not know what I'm becoming. I can't use magic. I have traits of a vampire but I'm not one." Daylen just paused, he still had tears in his glowing red eyes as he spoke. "Everything that works on my vampiric customers, is not working on me. Even Daniel says I'm not one..." He wasn't sure if he still should tell her everything, the truth of why he was shaken in the garden, why he was in pain. All of it.

Contessa was silent as she listened to Daylen speak and gently wiped away any tears she could see. "Well I'm not an expert at these things, but perhaps you're just taking longer to fully become a vampire?" Contessa suggested. "If Daniel doesn't think you're a vampire then he should have told you what he thought you were then, but he didn't. If he doesn't have an answer perhaps your vampire customers have an answer?" she suggested with a smile. "I think that they can help you understand what it is that you are." she explained quietly. She knew that maybe Miss Claire would be able to help him better than she herself could. If Daniel would teach her what she needed to know, then she wouldn't be feeling so useless right now and that made her frown, why couldn't she be of any use to Daylen?

Daylen just lightly shook his head at her words. "I passed the grace period when I drank Raymon's blood. It sealed me into the vampiric change." He simply told her. "However." He Daylen just took a breath breath before continuing. "However I'm not a vampire and I have no magic, I'm in a state between the two races." He tried to explain this so she could understand, granted he didn't fully understand it either. "The potion I made stripped me of my Sorcery and replaced it with Vampiric abilities, in all technically I should be a vampire. But the tonics, the substitute blood, the herbs, none of it is working to state the hunger." He finally said telling her that's why he was the way he currently was. "Miss Contessa on a normal vampire the tonics and substitute blood are all they need. I been eating herbs, taking the tonics, drinking the substitute blood and I still feel like I'm starving to death. Like I haven't eaten in days." Daylen never looked at her. He hoped she wasn't mad for keeping it a secret. "I been fighting the hunger the best I can. But I don't know if I can keep my sanity and not hurt you at this rate. I left form of a monster, only to become a worse one" He sadly stated. If it came down to it, Daylen would just take a walk in the day time. If it was a choise of going insane and hurting Contessa or anyone, he would gladly do it.

Contessa ran her fingers through his hair softly while listening to him explain what he was going through. It was horrible, he was suffering and the worse part was that no one seemed to have an answer. She was so desperate to help him though and this meant that she would have to get Daniel to teach her what she needed to know and that wasn't going to be easy but she was going to try. She was a little upset that he hadn't told her this but it was okay, he had his reasons as to why he never told her. He probably didn't want to worry or scare her. "Daylen please stop it." she whispered and frowned, "You are not a monster Daylen. I don't think you are and whoever thinks that you are obviously doesn't know like I do." Contessa said softly and managed to smile as she held onto him happily. "I think that perhaps you really need to drink real blood. Maybe the hunger comes from biting someone. Perhaps if you bite someone and drink some actual blood, that feeling might go away." she commented softly. Contessa didn't think she was right, but he could always give it a try. "I know you don't want to though, so I won't force you to. I'm just making a suggestion that might help." Contessa explained.

Daylen just sadly looked up at Contessa. He felt he was one, always had, probably always will. He smiled weakly at her. Everyone saw him as monster or a murderer. He would read people's mind by accident, often it was nothing good he heard. He just listened to her talk. He didn't want to drink blood. "If I bite someone. The target on me gets bigger. Hunters kill those who drink blood from others, that's why I set out to help them. That is why I made the substitute blood and tonics." He just closed his red eyes. "Before the blood substitute even drinking from willing people, hunter's would kill the vampire. Miss Claire and Saria, got by eating Blood thorns but even those don't work for me." Daylen didn't want to drink from anyone. He didn't want the target added to him or addiction one could get from real blood. Earlier Daniel had snuck in blood and he happily drank it but he felt so guilty for it afterwards.

Contessa met his sad look with a warm smile on her face which only got bigger when he smiled back. She didn't know that the target got bigger if he bit someone. That was not fair, he couldn't starve himself either though, he had to take care of himself and she had to help out however she could. "That doesn't seem fair Daylen. I just worry about you, I want to take care of you and make sure you're okay. I just want to help you is all, and I apologize if I'm not doing a very good job at it...but I'm trying my best." Contessa commented honestly and sighed softly. "I always feel so useless because I can't even seem to help my own husband..." she confessed quietly and decided it was just best to keep quiet, she didn't want to upset Daylen, she wanted him to be happy.

"Life is never fair Miss Contessa." He told her simply. Daylen had never known it to be. He found the world and life harsh from an early age. It was a lesson he would never forget. "Hunter's came to be to protect those from one's that rather harm others then help them with their gifts. In a way I respect their old ways but they got corrupted over the years. More strict on who becomes a target, nothing anyone can do about it." He told her softly. He tightened his arms around her lightly, careful not to harm her or make it to tight. If she wanted to, she could easily push him away. "You take perfect care of me. I may not alway confide in you or have to you wait on me hand and foot, but you are always kind and supported of me even when I do. When I don't deserve it." He just lightly shook his head. "Miss Contessa, you are far from useless. Just knowing you're here, helps me." He meant every word. She was more help than she thought. If not for her, he probably break down and gorge himself on real blood. Probably wounding someone if not killing them.

"I know it isn't, I just wish it was." Contessa answered softly and listened to what Daylen said about hunters. So they had become cruel over the years? Something or someone was making them that way maybe, but she wasn't too sure so she said nothing on the matter. It really didn't seem fair, these hunters Daylen spoke about sounded terrifying and she didn't want to have to meet one. She just hoped Daylen didn't run into a hunter, the last thing she wanted was to have her husband killed just because of what he was. Contessa wouldn't let them harm him though, she would protect him, and she knew he'd protect her if the hunters were after her. Feeling his arms tighten around her, her blush darkened but a smile came to her face at his words. She could tell he was being very honest and that made her heart flutter in her chest, it was nice to hear him say that about her. He never talked much, but when he did, he said the sweetest things. "Thank-you Daylen, it means a lot to hear you say that. It really does." Contessa whispered and held him happily in her arms. It really did mean a lot to hear him say those things, it reassured her that she was a good wife and that he truly appreciated what she did for him.

'As nice as it would be, life needs balance.' He thought clearly to himself. Life was one of the things that could change so dramatically and still turn out to have a outcome so differently than expected. "Miss Contessa. You know the Elder's, they created the Hunters. They are corrupted and they corrupt everything around them. That is once reason I refuse to be one. I know could change things, but they poison everything they touch." He simply told her. He also didn't like the Elders for obvious reasons, however rarely did anyone know that they were pulling the Hunter's strings. Daylen only knew this because they fought so hard for him to be theirs and he plainly and very offensively rejected them countless of times.

"Wait, the elders are behind the hunters? So they approve of what is being done?!" she asked. "How could they allow innocent being to be killed for no reason?" Contessa asked. She was obviously getting upset but at least now she had more reasons to hate the elders, she was going to have to tell her parents this. "If only there was a way to get rid of them." she said softly and sighed sadly. What would life be like without the elders though? Who would keep the order in the kingdom? Her thoughts drifted to the event tomorrow and she wondered how exactly Daylen would hold up, he was probably not looking forward to it at all. "Well let's not think of negative things, tomorrow is an important day and I'm sure it will be a lot of fun." Contessa commented, trying to change the subject while her fingers continued to run through his hair softly.

Daylen just quickly shook his head in protest. "No. Telling your family will only put targets on them. Miss Contessa, you can't tell anyone." He calmly told. He knew more then he let on. "It is easier to control a population when they're struck with fear. People are willing to listen to anyone giving orders when they're afraid. Power, money, those are a necessity for an Elder. Both I have. I'm well known, even now people are more inclined to follow me. Being the second sorcerer to create the Mutatio potion, the one to change your race successfully, becoming something stuck between races. Tongues wag. In the Sorcerer world, I was actually classed right next to my ancestor Hialus di Pavia. He was the the strongest of all the sorcerers. I don't know my ranking now, not sure if I want to." He was just talking to her. Depending on his new ranking, he still might be harassed.

He had read her mind, that mind reading ability really did come in handy. Listening to him, she could imagine that the elders were probably going to send hunters after Daylen in order to get him to become their apprentice. "D-daylen.." she started and began to worry, "So if the elders still want you to become their apprentice, they might do everything they can to make you accept. Does this mean they could possibly send hunters after you? D-do you think they would do such a thing?" she asked. "If they do, do you think that they'll send hunters after me as well to keep me out of the way?" she asked curiously. If Contessa really was carrying a child, then this probably meant the child could be targeted too and she didn't want any of that. She just wanted to live in peace but with the elders still around that seemed rather impossible.

Daylen just looked at her and weakly smiled. "That is one of the reasons Raymon chose Daniel as a employee." He told her softly. "Daniel is mortal like all werewolves but he is very skilled in many things. He was trained as a Vampire's bodyguard, that is why his knowledgeable about the changes I'm going through. He fought against hunters, thats where all his scars come from. He barely talks because his voice box was damaged in one fight, it hurts to." He just weakly smiled at her some more. "I isolated the healing gene in my blood. I just need to replicate it and then I can fix that for him." He told her softly. He was going to improve his healing tonics to the point they could cure anything, even his mother's illness.

"So you think that Daniel can protect us?" she asked. It was nice to know this new bit of information, no wonder he was always better at taking care of Daylen than she was. It made sense now as to why Daniel was the nighttime butler, he'd be of no actual use to Contessa, she was fine having Raymon as her butler. It still was odd to have a butler of her own, she wasn't used to having any sort of help from butlers or maids. She never even saw a nanny step into their house when she lived with her parents, there was no need for any sort of help. "This is interesting information, I would have never known any of this since he and I don't talk but I am sure have noticed that already." Contessa said and smiled, "I'm sure you can get it all done, you're a very smart man Daylen and a very hard worker. You'll get it all done quickly I'm certain of it." she commented honestly.

Daylen just rolled back onto his back, letting go of Contessa. He was still tired but it was okay. His body still ached from the craving and he was still scared of what he was, if he was neither races. Could he be classed as a hybrid or just a make shifted vampires, he was unsure. "Daniel is a very nice guy, more distant than me but a good guy. Try talking to him, you'll be surprised." He told her softly. Daniel would often just stare at him plainly but he would answer some of the questions he had. It was just very awkward until he started to open up. Though it was rather scary how Daniel knew so much about him. It was just a very thorough background check on Daylen that he did.

Contessa frowned slightly, the cuddling was nice while it lasted. "I'll try my best to talk to him when I see him." Contessa promised and looked at Daylen, "Would you like to try and get some sleep again?" she asked warmly. "I'll be right here Daylen so if anything happens I'll wake you up again, I'm not going anywhere." Contessa assured. She herself was pretty tired but she would only be able to sleep if he tried to get some sleep as well. He looked really tired anyway and after all that he was going through, some sleep was probably a very much needed thing right now.

Daylen just weakly smiled at her. He should try and get more sleep, his eyes were heavy. "I'll sleep if you join me, you seem tired as well." He told her softly. Though he probably would fall asleep even she she rejected the offer. He just hoped the craving would stop and soon. He didn't like the feeling of it. Though Daniel would probably keep sneaking in real blood from time to time to help ease it a little. Even though it would be everything against his morals he probably would let Daniel win this one. In the week he worked from him, he proved to be a valuable employee and he told Raymon to accept his picks on the night time staff. Raymon was good judge of character so if he trusted Daniel then he would too.

Contessa smiled tiredly and nodded at his comment, "This little fairy is very tired yes, I'll be happy to join you Daylen." she answered honestly and yawned softly then started to let her hair down from the bun on her head. She had only put it in a bun for the meantime since she was too tired to actually style it. Contessa just hoped that Daylen could actually get some sleep this time. Contessa made a mental note to try and talk to Daniel tomorrow night if she saw him even though she wasn't sure what she would talk to him about but hopefully he would help her understand what Daylen was going through. Setting the hair tie on top of her side table, Contessa slipped into bed next to Daylen and fought back a yawn before turning to look at Daylen causing some curls to fall across her face. "I hope you can get some sleep Daylen." she said softly.

Daylen just watched Contessa. He smiled softly before brushing the curls from her face and gently tucking them behind her ear. "I will try." He just moved his hand and cuddle up to her. "Miss Contessa, try to get some sleep." He was a cuddler when he slept, and he was bound to cuddle with her so might as well fall asleep with her in his arms. He sighed lightly, ignoring every symptom from the craving. He just closed his eyes, he wasn't sure when they had stopped glowing but they did. It didn't take long before he fall asleep. He was more tired than he really thought he was, he needed to get use to the new race. It's signs were completely different then he was use to.

Contessa smiled tiredly, "Good that is all I ask Daylen." she whispered and chuckled. "I will try Daylen." she promised and played with his hair softly as she let him get some sleep. Contessa hoped that the day after the event, they could go buy some paint and supplies that she would need for their master bedroom. She'd be using her money of course which reminded her that she still had to go visit her parents, she'd do that first thing in the morning. "Sweet dreams Daylen." Contessa whispered and closed her eyes as she tried to fall to sleep. Contessa would have never thought of Daylen as a cuddler but you learned something new everyday it seemed. Before long, she was fast asleep in his arms, enjoying the much needed sleep.
