Contessa watched Daylen carefully and smiled warmly back at him. He seemed to be happy, probably please to her what she said and that in turn made her happy too. This is a good start to learning how to cheer him up. Just talk to him about his work. she thought to herself. While he was quiet, she thought about all the things they could do together for the garden and knew that whatever they made would be relaxing for her and possibly for him too. When he mentioned starting today, Contessa was surprised and snapped out of her thoughts. "Right now?" she repeated and thought about the options he had given her. She didn't know any of that though and felt rather stupid. "W-well the truth is that I don't know about any of that." she said, turning red from embarrassment. "What would you recommend we work on first?" she asked curiously. Daylen knew more about these kinds of things so she knew he would know what to work on first and what other things could wait until later.

His soft smile slowly faded, he never smiled so much even if it was just soft ones then with her. He nodded in reply, it was still early in the day. He made his way to one of the cabinets of colorful liquids, near the same one he used for her tonic. "That is alright, I'm sure you'll learn as we go." He said softly as he opened the doors to the cabinet. "Perhaps the tonic would be more efficient for the time being." He knelt down and gathered the ones they would need. He set the bottles on the desk before closing the cabinet. "The tonic is actually very simple just time consuming. I has to set overnight." He told Contessa as he went to a stack of drawers where he started to pull out more containers for dried leaves and seeds. "Would you like to mix the liquids or grain the leaves and seed into a fine powder?" He ask her as he set the containers next the the bottles. He was actually going to enjoy this.

Contessa watched him from a distance before walking over to the desk where he had layed out the things they would need. "II think I can learn, depending on how good of a teacher I have." she said honestly and didn't touch anything that he had out on the desk but looked at it closely. "Hmm, I think I would be better at making the powder." she answered, though she really wasn't sure what she'd be best at. It didn't really matter she guessed, she was just going to follow his instructions as if she was in school. Looking at him, Contessa saw that just how comfortable he was with this and that made her happy.

Daylen just watched her as she came over. He motion to the drawer in front of her. "You'll be fine, it's a rather easy job. All you' need is the pestle and mortar." He said to reassure her, she looked like she needed the small boost of confidence. "As for the ingredients you want four of the large black seeds, three of the white leaves that smell like mint and a dry piece of beehive." He placed the containers closer to her so she could grab her ingredients. "The seeds are the hardest, I would start with those. Small circles and medium pressure work the best." He smiled at her softly as he went to the cabinet and took the small cauldron from the top. "Then the beehive." He placed the cauldron on the desk before he started to measure and pour multicolor of liquids in the cauldron. Slowly the cauldron started to heat up as he poured them inside. "Be careful, the cauldron will be hot." He warned her softly as he worked.

Contessa nodded, understanding what he said and payed close attention to his instructions. Looking at the containers, she carefully took out the amount of ingredients she needed. She made sure to repeat his instructions out loud as she gathered the ingredients and lined them up in the order she was supposed to crush them in. Once she had done that, she looked over at him and nodded. "Understood." she said and grabbed to mortar then placed the four seeds in first before grabbing the pestle and carefully started to grind them down, doing it the way he requested it be done. Occasionally she would glance over at Daylen and watch him work, but she remained focused on the job at hand,

After Daylen added the last liquid into the cauldron he set the bottles back into the cabinet. He pulled his hair back as he leaned over and lightly blew on the surface of the mixture inside the pot, instantly bringing it to a roaring bubble. He looked over at Contessa to see how she was doing and softly smiled. She seemed to be doing very well grinding the powder. "When your done add the powder to the mix carefully, it will fizz up some but careful not to touch it..." He said softly to her but was interrupted by Sirus' voice once more. "Or your DNA will be added to the mixture and make your plants into weird carnivorous thingies." Sirus added as he appeared on the other side of the desk. "They won't be carnivorous. That only happened because you decided to add a vampire's blood to your mixture instead of Solar mint leaves. If she touched the mixture the plants would take after her fairy side." Daylen replied to Sirus who just looked at him curiously. "That would be actually really cool to see. Fairy plants!" Sirus said giggling at the thought. He looked at Contessa in curiosity. "Wait, you're into Alchemy too? Or did Daylen force this lame task onto you?" He said picking on both Contessa and Daylen. Daylen just crossed his arms over his chest and stared at Sirus.

Contessa continued to grind the ingredients in order until they were a fine powder. She looked over at Daylen and found it really interesting to see the liquids start to boil. "That is really neat!" she said happily and looked back at the powder she had created while listening to Daylen. "Alright, I'll be careful Daylen, I promise." she promised and picked up the mortar with the powder in it, and carefully started to pour the powder in with the mixture. Doing her best not to touch it, she was interrupted by Sirus' voice and glanced over at him. "No, I volunteered to help. I thought that since we're going to be married someday, we should start spending time together." she replied honestly. Looking back at the liquids, she almost had touched it but thankfully she didn't. "All done Daylen." she commented and looked over at Daylen.

Daylen just kept his soft smile on his face. "Ain't it." Sirus replied to her. He found it neat as well that Daylen could do all the heating with his own breath or mind. "I'm jealous. He has all the cool powers but at least I have the looks... and the personality." Sirus said slightly pouting as he looked over at his brother, however his face lit-up hearing that she volunteered. Quickly Sirus turned to her happily. "Oh, trying to bound or win his heart?" He said giggling at her but stop when he saw Daylen stare to him with a emotionless face. Turning his attention back to Contessa, Daylen stirred the cauldron with a medium size roll of dried petals. They all were plain in color yet as they moistened they turn into a blood red before dissolving. He placed the lid over the cauldron and looked at Contessa. "It will be fully done by tomorrow, it will also be safe to touch then." He was ignoring Sirus who was pouting at the fact his little brother was ignoring him.

Contessa couldn't help but giggle at all of Sirus' comments. "I'm doing my best to bond with my fiance. Winning over hearts is a lot harder. Right now bonding is really more important I think." she answered him and watched with a grin on her face as Daylen stirred the pot carefully. She let out a soft sigh of relief, she was so relaxed watching him and could really just watch him work all day if she was allowed. "Tomorrow, okay. What do we do tomorrow? Put it in vials?" she asked curiously. Surely there was another step right? They couldn't just pour it over the plants. That's not how it worked was it?

Sirus instantly shook his head at her. "It shall stay in the pot until... not tomorrow but the day after. You have shopping to do with your future mother-in-law and we have Boy's day with your father." He chirped happily to Contessa. Daylen just looked at his brother then to Contessa. "Yes, next step is vials but you can pour it over the plants you have planted already." He told her in his soft tone. "It's more potent the longer it sits however." Sirus made a face at his twin, mimicking his sentences as he did. Daylen just glared at his brother. "Oh, lighten up grumpy." Sirus said as he sat on the edge of the desk. "Oh, did you offer miss Contessa food? She has been here while." Sirus asked his twin, he knew he hadn't. Daylen just shook his head no. "I'm sorry I forgot. Are you hungry, would you like something to eat or drink?" Daylen asked ashamed that he forgot to offer her food. "You have to watch him, he never eats." Sirus said snitching on his twin as he picked up a container of dried seeds.

The shopping! Contessa had forgotten all about it, she'd have to remind her parents about this. "Ah right, I had forgotten about that actually. Sorry." she said and smiled apologetically. "So what will happen on boys' day?" she asked curiously. What were they going to do or talk about? Was Sirus going to make a cake explode in her father's face? She certainly hoped not. Looking at Daylen she nodded as he spoke. "I see. Well then it's a good thing that it will be sitting for another day." she said and for some strange reason, sniffed the liquids as Sirus made his question to Daylen. Her attention was glued back on Daylen and she was surprised when Sirus said he never ate. "Oh Sirus you can't be serious. Daylen eats I'm sure. Don't you Daylen?" she asked and looked at him. "W-well actually yes I'm hungry." she admitted and gasped as an idea crossed her mind. "We should eat together!" she suggested happily. "Oh it will be nice! It will help me get to know you both a bit better." she explained.

Both just smiled at Contessa of course Sirus' was more goofy while Daylen's was soft. They didn't really know what they would do on Boy's day, probably just order food and hang out here. Daylen was antisocial in many ways and rarely left his study, let alone his house. "Truth be told Miss Contessa, I don't envy you. My mother can be quite a shopaholic." Daylen said softly to her. Sirus nodded excitedly before speaking. "Oh I hated clothes shopping. Took her nearly five hours just to pick the fabric she wanted her dress made of." Both just looked at each other. "It was rather boring." Daylen replied and Sirus just giggled at his word, he completely agreed. Daylen and Sirus were snapped out of the conversation from her words. Daylen just looked towards the ground ashamed. "I get too involved in my work to remember to eat at times." He slyly stated. "At times? Daylen only eats when I have to remind him or he wouldn't eat at all." Sirus said once again snitching on him. Daylen just glared at his brother who ignored him now. "He drinks coffee all day and stays up late, rarely sleeps too." Sirus said hopping off the desk and turning to the door. "Now eating together will be fun. Let us go raid the fridge, shall we Miss Contessa?" Sirus said happily as Daylen just looked at his brother, he had sat in grease which was pretty hilarious but he wasn't going to tell him.

"Really? Five hours?!" Contessa gasped and shook her head, wondering how tomorrow was going to go then. "Shopping is fun, boys never understand. Shopping is a girl thing." she explained and chuckled. She couldn't help but hope that tomorrow wasn't boring like they said. Their mother didn't look like a boring person, she looked fun to be around actually and she guessed that her mother would probably get along with her too. Listening to the two of them talk about Daylen's habits, Contessa frowned. "Daylen that's not exactly healthy to do you know. You need to eat and sleep." she said a little more seriously than she intended. She didn't want to sound bossy in any way, she was just trying to look out for him. "Coffee isn't good for you either, tea is better." she murmmured and nodded at Sirus' suggestion. "Yes we shall!" she said excitedly and watched him lead the way. Noticing the grease stain, she stiffled a laugh and looked over at Daylen who was obviously enjoying this. Contessa made a gesture with her hands, saying she wasn't going to say anything. PAYBACKshe mouthed and grinned before following Sirus out to the kitchen.

Both Daylen and Sirus agreed to the shopping comment, they would never understand why females found it so fascinating. Daylen wasn't really much of a eater or sleeper, his dreams would often be invaded with visions of people's last moments of before death claimed them. He saw the grim reaper more times than he could count. That alone made him not want to sleep. "On Daylen's defence. He doesn't sleep due to his creepy visions." Sirus spoke as they walked to the kitchen. Daylen just smiled at Contessa but looked at his brother warningly. "Sirus, shut up." He spoke rougher than his normal tone, he really didn't like that ability and even more talking about it. "She'll find out about it sometime Daylen might as well tell her now so she don't freak about it when it shows itself." Daylen just looked at the floor as he followed them into the kitchen. Daylen broke away from them and went in the pantry to gather food for them as Sirus spoke. "He hates that ability, personally I don't blame him is it horrible." He said walking over to the refrigerator door and opening them. "Careful, it's still slippery in here." Sirus said giggling at the memory of his latest prank.

"Visions?" Contessa repeated and raised an eyebrow curiously. What sort of visions was he having that kept him out of bed? Was he always going to be like this? This meant she would sleep alone, not that she had a problem with it since she was used to it. Married people slept together didn't they? She shook the thoughts out of her head and walked cautiously into the kitchen, remembering what had happened there. "I will,, thank-you for the reminder Sirus." she said and peaked over his shoulder and into the refrigerator. "Hmm....let's see. What are you boys in the mood for?" she asked and looked at the contents in the fridge. Contessa herself wasn't picky so she didn't mind eating whatever they wished to eat.

Sirus just nodded happily. "Yeah. He has what we called Death visions. It's a rather creepy ability actually." Sirus said moving over slightly so Contessa could look better into the refrigerator. "It's called Death-warning." Daylen said placing some vegetables onto the isle counter. "When I sleep, I see the last moments of people's lives before they die. Most of the time it is murder or freak accidents." Daylen said softly. "Oh, are you going to make stir-fry?" Sirus asked excitedly, he loved Daylen's stir-fry. "If Miss Contessa would like some. I could make something else if not." Daylen said softly. It was a habit to make stir-fry for Sirus, it was basically a weekly thing for Sirus to eat, that and his omelets. "Oh, you'll love it. It's sweet and very delicious." He told her with dreamy eyes. Sirus' mouth was slightly watering at the thought.

Her eye went wide as they both explained to her what sort of visions Daylen had. "So...So you see the future? Or is it the past? Maybe it's both?" she asked, obviously a little confused. She felt sorry for Daylen though, it must be emotionally exhausting to deal with that every single night. She was glad when they changed the subject and focused on food. "Stir-fry?" she repeated and raised an eyebrow as she shook her head. "I...I've never had that before. What is it?" she asked and blushed slightly, embarrassed because they probably were going to be shocked to know that she had never eaten that before. "Oh please, I don't mind what we eat as long as it's something you both enjoy." she said politely and chuckled at Sirus' expression.

Sirus just reached over to gathered the rest of the vegetables and ingredients for the stir-fry as Daylen carefully walked over to wash his hands. He dried them before carefully walking back to the counter where he took out a cutting board, a cutting knife and a cast iron wok. "Both I guess you can say." Daylen replied cutting the base of a onion off and peeling it, he quickly chopped the onion before placing the pieces into the wok. "Its seasoned fried vegetables, sometimes with meat slices. If you want meat in it I can add some." Daylen said softly as he continued to chop and slice the multiple vegetables with skill. Sirus walked over to the isle near Daylen and placed the items on the counter. He just watched his younger brother with excitement. He nodded his head to Contessa. "You should try it with meat. It really yummy both ways but with meat it so much better. Exspecially over rice." He said overly happy as Daylen stopped to look at him. He just shook his head at his brother before returning to his task.

Contessa watched Daylen and sighed happily. She wasn't used to having food made for her, she usually helped. "Would you like me to help?" she asked honestly and chuckled at Sirus. "It really is? Well then I should probably try it like that if you say it's so good." she said to him and looked at Daylen who was focused on the task at hand. He was always like this when he worked, and that was good. It was hard to distract him, but when he did get distracted it wasn't a good thing that came out of it. "I take it this is your favorite food?" she asked to both of them. She herself didn't have a favorite food, although Pasta was something she enjoyed at times.

Daylen just lightly nodded as a reply. "It's okay, I got it." He finishing cutting up the vegetables and placing them into the wok. He went to the cabinet to gather a few different oils and seasoning before returning. A gas burner suddenly lit by itself as Daylen added very little of each oil and seasoned the vegetables before mixing them and placing them on the burner. "It's mine but Daylen loves Tonkatsu the best." Sirus said happily, he really loved stir-fry, especially with Daylen made it. Daylen just softly smiled. "I'll have to make it for you one night. The restaurants here always over cook it." Daylen said as he brought out two more pots. He measured and pour dried rice into the pot before washing it. He placed it on another burner before taking out some meat from the refrigerator. Sirus just conjured two bar stools for Contessa as he watched Daylen, shake and flip the vegetables before returning to the pack of meat. He unwrapped it on the cutting board before slicing it into thin long strips. He rather enjoyed cooking, it was similar to alchemy so it was something he was skilled at.

Contessa watched in awe at what Daylen was doing with so much ease. Sheesh back of Contessa, you're not his mom to be treating him like a child! her subconscious hissed at her. Contessa nodded to herself and listened to them. "Ah I see. Well I would really enjoy that Daylen. I've honestly never heard of Tonkatsu but I'd really like to try it someday." she said honestly and felt stupid. She felt way out of her league here. "They do? I wonder why people buy it...maybe they like it over cooked?" she said to herself and thanked Sirus for the stools as she sat down comfortably and watched Daylen continue to cook. He looked so at peace as he did this, and she wondered if he always cooked or if he just cooked for himself and his brother when they wanted a quick meal.

Sirus just sat next to Contessa as he watched Daylen who was seasoning and frying the meat in a different pan. He stirred the vegetables after washing the blood from the meat off. He placed the cutting board and knife in the sink before taking out a small bowl. He placed some tomato paste, pinch of salt, brown sugar, little bit of honey and ground ginger into the bowl. He cut a lemon in half and squeezed the juice into the bowl. "You'll love it as well." Sirus said happily watching his brother make the sauce for the meat. It took a little over thirty minutes to make the meal but once it was done Daylen set a bowl in front of Contessa then Sirus. The fried vegetables rested over the nice fluffy white rice and the meat placed over the colorful mixture of vegetables. "Would you like something to drink with you food? We have have practically everything." Daylen ask her as he made his bowl. The small bowl of sauce was sitting next to Contessa with a spoon for scooping.

Contessa grinned, she was excited to try this new meal that was being prepared before her. "I'll love it you say?" she asked Sirus softly and chuckled. "Well I believe you." she answered with a nod of her head as she continued to watch Daylen in awe. Once the meal had been finished, she looked down at the bowl in front of her and smiled warmly. "Well it smells delicious." she noted and blinked in surprise. "Practically everything?" she repeated and thought for a bit. "A glass of milk would be great actually. Thank-you." she said and bowed her head in thanks. Her eye noticed the smaller bowl near her with a spoon and sauce, she guessed it was for the rice and carefully drizzles some sauce over her food before putting the spoon back in the small bowl.

Daylen just nodded and got her a crystal glass with some milk. He looked over at Sirus who had placed a napkin with a spoon and fork beside Contessa before chowing down on his bowl. He has used almost all the sauce on his food, Daylen lightly chuckled at his brother. He hoped Contessa would like it. It was slightly sweet and tangy in flavor but still very delicious. Daylen just poured himself a cup of coffee that he made that morning and set it down near his bowl. He placed three sugar cubes into the cup and stirred it gently with a small spoon. He set his spoon down on his napkin. When he took a sip of his coffee he nearly spit it out instantly but cupped his hand over his mouth before he did. Quickly he went to the sink and spit out the horrible drink. Daylen heard Sirus laugh hard as he rinsed out his mouth. He turned off the water and glared at Sirus. "Pure juice and vinegar!" Sirus barely managed out before falling to the floor holding his side from the pain. Daylen just glared at his older twin, he was going to hurt him when Contessa left. He was sure both Sirus and Contessa knew that would happen when they were alone.

Contessa thanked them both and picked up the fork to start eating. She was about to take a forkful of food into her mouth when Daylen spit into the Sink. Quickly, she set her fork down in the bowl and looked at Daylen who looked really angry at the moment. Her eyes looked over at Sirus who was laughing and she knew that another prank had been played. Oh dear Sirus, you're in big trouble now. she thought to herself and frowned slightly. "Would you like me to make you some coffee Daylen?" she asked quietly, trying to think of a way to cheer him up. She knew there was no point though, Daylen was mad and nothing was going to change that, not even her.
