Logan considered that for a moment before getting up. He wasn't just going to sit around the apartment all day, that just wasn't his thing. So he figured the lesser of two evils would be going with her.

Fortunately, Sabine had two to-go mugs for the coffee, and she fixed hers before pointing him to the other one.

"I'll try not to bore you too much today."

"Eh, I'll survive," Logan said with a shrug as he picked up the other coffee mug. "You just do your thing."

Sabine snorted quietly and headed out of the apartment, locking up and heading down to the subway station. Fortunately it wasn't a long ride, and then she was ushering Logan into the SI Tower, getting him a guest pass and chatting with the on-duty security guard as she did.

Logan sighed when he saw the metal detector just before the door into SI proper.

"Yeah, that thing's gonna go off if I walk through it," he pointed out.

"No problem." Sabine poked his side and led him to the side, pushing a button and scanning her badge. "You really think Miss Potts goes through a metal detector every day?" A small, much more plus elevator opened with a quiet ping.

Logan raised an eyebrow.

"Impressive," he said. "You do that with every guy you bring to work?"

"Only the ones I can't take through the metal detector." Sabine grinned and pushed the button for the right floor.

"Good morning Miss Bee," Jarvis greeted.

"Morning Jarv. What have I missed?"

"Nothing earth-shattering yet."

"Awesome. I've got a guest today, try to be nice. This is Logan. Logan, Jarvis, resident AI."

Logan gave the room at large a sort of skeptical look.

"I've heard of you," he said. "Stark's thing."

"Indeed." Jarvis sounded faintly amused.

"My office is this way." Sabine nudged Logan and headed over to her office, which was small but it had a door that closed and a window. She looked through her inbox and got herself oriented for the day, sure that Logan would speak up if he needed anything.

Logan settled himself by the window.

"So I'm guessin' yer a paper pusher?" he asked as he watched her.

"Sort of. I do a lot of things for Miss Potts; run errands, push papers, wrangle various divisions of the company, including Tony." Sabine smiled a bit. "I actually started out in PR, so I tend to be the one to talk to them."

"Yeah, that doesn't surprise me," Logan said, shaking his head a bit. "You seem the type."

"I'm choosing to take that as a compliment," Sabine said mildly, glancing over at him. "Hopefully you didn't mean it the other way 'round."

"No reason to take it as anything but," Logan pointed out, leaning against the wall. "Handy skill, bein' able to handle Stark."

"Handy, but annoying as hell," Sabine grumped. "He can be a right jackass when he wants to." She scanned her emails quickly before she huffed.

"No kiddin'," Logan said with a snort. "I have met the kid, y'know."

Sabine snorted, but didn't reply. Mostly because Pepper knocked on the doorframe.

"Morning Pepper," Sabine chirped.

"Good morning Bee. I was hoping you could do me a favor this morning." Pepper glanced at Logan but took him in stride.

Sabine was quiet for a moment. "Oh don't tell me you're going to send me to check on Tony."

"Alright. I won't tell you."

Logan suppressed a snort and raised an eyebrow.

"I'd lay even money Cam's still around," he said. "Maybe even the kids, if Stark's feelin' soft-hearted still." He jerked a thumb towards the wall. "Voice in the walls can't confirm any of that?"

"The children and Miss Cameron are still present," Jarvis confirmed. "They are in the common living area with Agent Barton."

Sabine heaved a put-upon sigh. "And I suppose Tony has locked himself in his lab," she said, getting up. "Alright, fine. You owe me coffee, Pepper."

"Consider it done." Pepper smiled, assessed Logan for a few moments before she nodded, and left to go to her next meeting.

"Want me to come with?" Logan asked as Sabine headed for the door.

"Sure, just promise you won't get me fired." Sabine grinned a bit and headed down to the labs. Hopefully this wouldn't take long.

Logan snorted.

"After the way you talked to her, it'd take an actual crime to get you fired," he pointed out as he followed her.

"Pepper knows I'm a valuable employee, I get a lot more leeway than most," Sabine said with a shrug. "It works in my favor."

Logan smirked.

"Told ya Stark-wranglin's a handy skill," he said.
