So far it's mostly Nova. I did Valla but she is very hard to kill players with.
So far of the classes I'm considering Nova for assassin and Tyreal for warrior. I can't figure out a favorite of the other 2 classes.
Nova being a "harassment style" though is perfect for how I play

I enjoyed playing Valla. She's really good in the later levels.

She's definitely a great one to learn on. She was the first one I bought.

Indeed! The first character I bought was Elite Tauren Chieftan.

I would, but I'm very bad at melee. I'm heavily ranged oriented in my playstyle for most games.
What kind of playstyle is he? Just brute force?

Oooh, if you like ranged, I think you might like Tyrande. I'm usually not one for support characters, but she's like a DPS healer.

Tyrande? Can she do damage?
I'm not so good with the whole "strategy" aspect of the game, so I just focus on killing people.
I also find support characters have to tag along with someone to be useful.

Tyrande is pretty good at dealing damage, she has an ability that makes whoever she targets with said ability will take ~25% more damage.

That sounds pretty nice. Her and Nova would be a scary combo then. Nova can already drop most non-tank characters to about 75% in a few seconds.

I am horrible at this. I breezed through the tutorial, then utterly sucked when I got into the real game and did practice mode. I simply cannot beat anyone!

Are you doing player VS AI or the tutorial?
I find the best way to learn is through "Versus AI" because you get some more experienced players that can help you if you ask questions. They've for the most part seemed relatively polite.
Plus I'll join games with you as well to help out if you want sometime.

A good way to get better at the game is playing VS. AI With other people on your team; staying alive and killing people really depends on teamwork, especially in the early game.

ok I'm telling this story. I want to make it clear I love my bf...but it's SO hard gaming with him sometimes.
In every game he just goes full bore derp without really reading anything about it. His reason is he just wants to have fun. In many mmos (WoW, SWTOR ect.) my want/need to spend time with him has put me out of a few raids and progression and sadly it seems this trend is continuing with heroes.
He bought the bloody vikings. >.< Which would be fine. . . if he took the time to learn anything about any of the heroes.
His death count per match is consistently around 8-14 ON RAYOR. His lap top is crap so he claims lag but it happens when he's at home on his desk top too. I don't know how to confront him on it. Last time in WoW that I told him "we" needed to study to play the raiding game. Was because we're kicked out of a raid. He was like "Don't act like you weren't kicked out too" Meanwhile the guildmaster wanted me to stay and I wouldn't unless he let my bf in too (maybe a mistake but I'd feel horrible getting epics without him)
I've tried mentioning game-play videos in the past and he hasn't done anything. I guess he thought I meant for myself? You know since my lady parts make me less likely to be a good gamer. *shrugs*
So I started being sneaky about it and putting on his character choice game-play on in the bg WHILE we're playing. His quote last Friday night nearly sent me into a nerd rage. I quote. . .
"Oh I didn't know you can control Raynor's Raiders."
WHAAAAT! >:O I think was my response. rofl.
We've been playing for about as long as it's been out now. . .SO MUCH FACE PALM! I swear I could have killed him. Lucky for him I was distracted by my favorite map and char combo (Pirate treasure on Zagara ftw)
Something about growing up playing sonic and collecting gold rings has REALLY made me love that sort of thing. The ting sound is like the most gratifying reward trigger when killing someone. LOVE IT.

I didn't know you could control those minion things of Raynor's... but I never picked that one.
How does someone get kicked out of a raid? Every time I ever did a raid, anyone new got a complete run down of the battle beforehand.

Depends on the guild I guess. But for ours if you were constantly standing in the fire or pulling low dps you got cut from raiding. This was before LFR. We haven't played wow since D3 came out. His main problem was standing in fires. (again cuz "lag") And that's the problem. He was told what to look out for then he didn't do it regularly.

That sounds like my boyfriend and I. He also bought the vikings, but he eventually figured out how to send each one down a lane and grind for XP, and he likes to grind mercenary bribes.

Lag honestly isn't an excuse. This coming from someone who ran Molten Core with 10 FPS...
If you consistently lag you should learn to predict what will happen and act accordingly.
