into a KKK meeting, hand to God!
it scared the crap out of me!!
Burning Crosses and sheets!
Charleston I loved so much.
beautiful area, loved downtown.
Melvin's pulled pork and onion rings.
St. Mary's is a small town Mayberryish place.
it felt safe. oh and gas station hush puppies and
loaded baked potatoes with pulled pork and onions!
Jacksonville was way to big and too many peoples everywhere.
still, pretty waterways and areas, shopping centers and entertainment.
my favorite was the wild life areas and the minor league park, great fun there.

Ruby ~ I go to the Renaissance Festival every year. Opening weekend is best time to go for the price, they always do 2 for 1 tickets, usually they have discount papers at Autobell, Chick-fil-a or in the Charlotte Observer. I think the prices are gonna be $24 or $25 this year. We always go on opening weekend because of that. It opens September 30th.
Our favorite faerie Twig won't be there this year :( she is expecting a sproutling in September.
The used bookstore is past Waffle house & close to Dollar General when you are heading toward the mall from the direction of Forest City. It is on the frontage road.
Have you tried the barbecue from Bridges? I personally like the sauce better from the one close to the hospital in Shelby.
I love going to see the leaves turning colors.
Where is Moses Cone house?
I'm growing to love Brevard much more than Asheville, the best part of Asheville still is all those old beautiful building in downtown.

and camped out in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
I wish I had known aobut the Moses Cone House.
camping was beautiful and creepy~i watch too many scary movies

It's called Flat Top Manor, it's in blowing rock :D The builder is Moses H Cone. Here's the address and a picture :D My uncle took us up there before we moved over and it was so amazing.

I haven't been to the zoo in a long time. Last time I went was with a cousin in Philadelphia. I want to bring most of the animals home with me.
I never find it that creepy, didn't even freak out with just a cement picnic table between me & a yearling cub. Miscreant grabbed a shovel & machete & banged them together to scare him off. It worked poor little guy left a pee trail.

Dillsboro is one of the few place in the mountains I really don't like, it is just such a tourist trap.

I should be working on my costume for the Renaissance Festival, but have been to lazy to work on it. So far all I have accomplished is getting about a third of my head piece done. I'm making a sort of a silver crown with pearls dangling from it. I just bought a formal dress from a discount store just to take all the beadwork off of just for my crown. The dress was $2 I can't buy the beads that cheap. I'll probably re-purpose the material later.

Loving seeing the Sunset marquee in your pictures, I've watched a lot of movies there over the years. I love the mural in Forest City, don't know who did it, but they did a nice job of it. You should visit there one evening in December, Forest City goes all out with the Christmas lights, on the weekends they have horse drawn carriage rides. Keep trying to get my husband to do that, but we haven't yet.
