"Everyone who doesn't should--" Tony mumbled the rest of that sentence, shifting a bit and curling into Pepper. Because he could. And he was already pretty drunk, okay, he was allowed.

Pepper just smiled indulgently and let him settle. She would have someone come downstairs and drag him up to bed soon.

"Just relax, Tony," she murmured. "Everything will work out."

Tony sighed. "They'll like you," he asserted again, because it bore repeating. "Not me, but I'm okay with that."

"I'm sure they just need to get to know you," Pepper said gently. "Honestly, Tony, how much time have you spent around them?"

"Not much," Tony admitted. "They're pretty skittish still. Not that I blame them, not with everything Hydra did to them." And that was a thought, a whole new reason to go and blow Hydra to little bits so tiny and torn no one would even think of rebuilding.

"I can imagine," Pepper murmured. "But I'm sure they'll like you once they get a chance to get comfortable around you."

Tony sighed. "We'll see," he muttered, because he wasn't convinced. "Or, y'know, you will, because I will live in my lab, this is a thing that will happen."

"If you get any closer to falling asleep, I'm going to have one of the others carry you to bed for me," Pepper said, still petting his hair.

Tony grumbled. "'m not asleep. Not falling asleep. Just resting." He burrowed a little closer to her, though.

"Keep telling yourself that," Pepper said quietly, just letting him snuggle.

Tony grumbled wordlessly at her a bit more but he did settle down. He didn't fall asleep, quite, but he was quiet and relaxed.

Elsewhere, Bucky was beating up a punching bag. Five more were laying in a sad, broken pile off to one side, a couple still trickling sand. The plates in his arm adjusted as he got more aggressive, and he snarled as he hit the bag one last time. His fist sank into it as it split open.

"Looks like we'll have to get more tomorrow," Steve said, leaning back against the wall. "Maybe tonight, if you keep this up."

Barnes just took the broken bag down and threw it on the pile of dead bags, silently replacing it with another one. Then he started hitting that one.

"Talk to me, Buck," Steve said, moving over closer. "C'mon, we both know this isn't going to help this time."

"What do you want me to say?" Barnes growled. "I didn't sleep with her." He beat on the bag more. "I had no idea that was even going on." The plates in his arm whirred as they worked to keep up with him. "God only knows if there are more out there that are mine too."

"If there are, we'll find them," Steve said, moving over to a more open space. "We'll get through this, alright? But for now, I know I'm more challenging than those bags are."

"I'm not going to fight you, not right now," Barnes replied, glancing at him. "I'm not going to pull my punches tonight, and we both know I can beat the shit out of you if you're not careful."

"So you're just going to go through all the bags and then pace the tower for a few hours?" Steve shook his head. "At least I'll heal and you'll feel better if you fight me."

"You're not the one I want to fight, Steve," Barnes snapped. "I want to kill whoever did this to them."

"I know," Steve said. "And we'll find out who did this." Because hell if he didn't have a bit of a streak of vengeance in him, too. "But I need you to not explode before we do. That would be bad for everyone, especially you."

"And, what, I'm supposed to just be okay with this until then?" Barnes demanded. "Just be okay with the fact that one was in and out of cryo just like me, and the other's carrying my kid and probably isn't even the first one?"

"No," Steve said. "You won't be okay with that for a long time." He huffed. "But you can start by actually getting some of your aggression out, and the bags aren't gonna cut it, not by a long shot."

With an angry snarl, Barnes threw another punch at the bag, and it split open. Frustrated, he flexed his metal hand and the plates shifted.

"C'mon, Buck. I can take it." Steve shifted, watching him. Just a few more moments, he could tell, and Bucky would be just frustrated enough.
