I've been semi-active. It's really boring when there's almost no activity in my threads.

Btw, does anyone know what being a foster parent is like? O: I've always wondered if I'd be interested in that. I should probably look it up. > o>

I work with someone that fosters he says there's a lot of stress that comes with it

---------- Post added 08-29-2015 at 01:47 PM ----------

You never know how the child or children are gonna to behave or adjust

---------- Post added 08-29-2015 at 01:48 PM ----------

And then there's attachment issues sometimes it's hard to let them go back

---------- Post added 08-29-2015 at 01:49 PM ----------

It takes strong people to Foster I commend them

i know people who have foster parents and its kinda a 40/60 shot. there are a lot of factors to be considered not just income and age.

I am when for a few hours. but thats about all i can take. i had an argument with a little girl once and it ended with her saying that she didnt have an imagination. it was the saddest thing ever.

however, the following week she was a tiger shark chasing me around saying that she was going to hunt down the "princess" which was me if the "king" did save me, which was my boyfriend. lol

I really admire and respect people who foster and adopt. I respect them far more for valuing a child for being a child, regardless of whose genes it carries. It really rubs me the wrong way that people choose birth over adoption when there are so many kids who need a loving family because "they want something they gave birth to themselves." Like that's an important factor at all. z___z

I think I'm mostly seen as gullible, timid person so I feel that kids would take advantage of me. OTL I need to learn to me more lenient or something. But maybe I will make it a goal. Seems like a really cool goal to me~ ; w; Thanks for the encouragement.

c: Sup!

It can be really difficult to foster a child because if they're in the foster care system, they probably have a very painful story. It will make it harder for them to be willing to open up and bond and trust, so it will be painful for you as a parent who just wants to love them when they treat you like a threat.

Thank you, BellyButton, for assigning me to the Healers. That's the team I would have chosen, if I'd been in time for the official sign-up!

Love the avi Blood, very nice!

And yea, fostering can be hard, it is sad what some children go through when they are put into foster care.

I agree! I think it would be harder because the older they get, the harder it can be to get them to open up and trust you.

Its scary. And you have to be honest with yourself- Not everyone is personally strong enough to stand and shoulder someone who may lash out at you for no reason. And that's okay- Just don't get yourself way in over your head and end up having to give up half way.

Evenin'

My godmother fostered her two sons before adopting them. There were some hard times along the way but they're both independent adults now.
