"Don't lie to me!" Steve stood up, dragging her with him and slamming her against a wall. "The real Aurora was the one who told me she overcame the stone by thinking of her friends! You're just an imposter using her body!"

Gemini looked around, suddenly realizing what the real cause of the fire must have been. "They're still inside!" She said, running for the door. The flames wouldn't harm her- maybe she could get them out.

Aurora grunted when her head hit the wall. "It was a lie. I just told you that so I could take the stone." She made the fire into a inferno.

Tony pulled Gemini back. "I think we are better off out here."

"You're lying now!" Steve insisted. He didn't know what to do, how to get her back to normal, but he would figure out a way. "If you were really lying all that time, that means you were faking being possessed. But if that were true, you never would have allowed us to take the stone away."

Gemini tried to pull away. "But Steve's in trouble! I can go, the fire won't hurt me! He's gonna burn alive in there!"

Aurora laughed and shook her head. "You are a foul." She smirked. "I knew I couldn't take on all of you but know it's just you and me." She notched up the fire and sent a blast at his chest.

"I know that but." Tony stared at the fire. "That's a lot of flames."

"And you're a liar!" Steve snarled back, refusing to let go of her even as the fire burned his chest. He decided the only way to calm her down would be to knock her out, and so, silently apologizing in his mind, he headbutted her. Hard. With all his strength.

"They won't hurt me!" Gemini insisted. "He's being hurt, and I can't feel her! I can't feel Aurora at all!" This fact disturbed her more than anything else.

Aurora's eye closed at the fire stopped at once as she slumped into Steve's arms.

"I think he has it handle." Tony blinked as the fire stopped.

Steve sighed as Aurora passed out and took her gently into his arms. "Okay...we're going to have to figure this out." He mumbled, carrying her down the stairs and outside.

Gemini held her breath until she saw Steve walk out with Aurora in his arms. "Oh thank goodness." She rushed up to them. "What happened in there?" She asked. Steve explained, loud enough for everyone to hear. Gemini's jaw dropped. "What do we do?"

"Do you think...maybe she was telling the truth?" Tony frowned a little. "I mean I use to know her but that was years ago she could be a completely different person."

Steve shook his head. "I refuse to believe that. It would make no sense, for one thing. Why would she wait until after we took the stone away to start acting like that? And anyway, I..." He thought of their date the night before and sighed. There was no way that was fake. He would have known. Right?

"I would know, if I touched her." Gemini said. "All I would need is to shake hands with her and I'd know her true feelings. It's hard to hide your true self from an empath in the first place, and the things I felt from her before seemed real...but it's possible she tricked me while the Aether was messing with my powers, but now that it's gone I would know for sure."

"Well you think just holding her hand would work she's a little unconscious at the moment." Tony frowned softly examining Aurora who was out like a light.

Gemini bit her lip. "I'll have to work a little harder at it, but yeah it would work." She said.

"Then do it, please." Steve said, practically begging. He needed to know what was real. Aurora's a good person. She couldn't have faked that.

Feeling a little bad for Steve, Gemini nodded. "Alright. Just hold her and wait, it's going to take a bit." She said, before reaching out and grabbing Aurora's hand. Almost instantly, her eyes went blank as if she were far away, and she slumped forward- but somehow, though the rest of her body was limp, her hand clutched Aurora's tightly with no chance of letting go.

As she sat there a rage filled her radiating from Aurora. Underneath the anger was pure evil with a tiny spot of good struggling to hold on. The evil felt like a separate part from Aurora but it was beginning to seep into the girl.

"That's a little weird." Tony blinked.

Steve watched, concerned as nothing seemed to be happening. "It's like she's not even in her own body." He said, looking at Gemini's empty gaze. "I wonder what's going on in there."

Gemini felt her own soul tremble in response to the evil surrounding her. She did her best to fight her way through it to reach what she knew was Aurora's real self, determined to help her friend.

"I have no idea." Tony sounded a little worried.

Aurora's goodness looked over at Gemini's. "Hi." she smiled at her. "I'm glad your here."

Gemini smiled back. "I'm glad you're here. There's not a lot of time left, Aurora. How do I separate this evil from you?" She asked, getting down to business.

"I have no idea." Aurora sighed. "I've tried every think. Thinking of Steve and you guys. I'm so tired." she shivered. "But if I give up the stone will take over my mind."

"Well there has to be some way." Gemini said, thinking hard. "If only I could...I don't know, absorb the evil like I do with fire...or heal your soul instead of your body...Do you think Steve could do something? He seems to have the most success with it."

Aurora turned a brighter white at the thought of Steve. "I dont want you to absorb it. If it comes to it you have to kill me." She swallowed and shrank. "No think of Steve." She closed her eyes focusing on him. "He's carrying me isn't he?" She smiled glowing brighter.

"I absolutely refuse to kill you. There has to be another way." Gemini said assertively. She watched Aurora's soul react to her thoughts, and suddenly saw a way to help. "Yes, he's holding you." She said, smiling. "I didn't get to see it, but I felt him talking to you. He got really close to you. He was so worried...you should have seen how he looked carrying you out of that house. Like a knight rescuing a princess in a Disney movie." She said.

Aurora's soul turned a soft pink color. "I think I love him. I know that's strange to say since we just meet but he makes me so happy. I feel safe with him." she turned pinker. "It really is the a Disney love story."

Gemini's own soul glowed a bit brighter hearing this. "It's not that strange. He loves you, too. I can feel that he does. And it's obvious, just by how he refuses to believe that you're bad. He really believes in you." She said. "And...I do, too. Y'know...I think I love someone, too. Except I'm not supposed to love. People like me...don't get a happy ending. But he keeps challenging that idea." Her soul turned bright pink. "I need you to help me figure this out. I've never had a friend before you. And Steve needs you, too. He's worried about you. I think he wants to be with you...like, forever."

Aurora lit up the a Christmas Tree. "You really think so!?" She looked so excited and happy until a voice echoed threw her mind. "You are mine." The darkness condensed into a man with glowing fire red eyes. "Nothing will take you from me know."

Gemini reared back in surprise at the man's sudden appearance. She knew the stone had something of a mind of it's own, but to manifest as a human? "She is not yours!" She fired back. "I don't know who you are, but I won't let you have Aurora!"

"She is mine!" The man advanced on Gemini. "Get out!" He picked her up and threw her from Aurora's mind. "No one can have her but me!" His laugh followed her out along with Aurora's scream.

Tony jumped as Aurora twitched whimpering as she grabbed Steve's shirt.

Rather than being thrown out, Gemini planted her presence firmly in Aurora's mind. "She is not yours, and you're not getting rid of me that easily!" She argued, shoving the man away from her.

Steve jumped, startled by Aurora's sudden movement. His hand went instantly to cover hers, and he noticed that Gemini clenched even tighter to her other hand. Like she was clinging to the connection.
