Girl scouts weren't plentiful in my neck of the woods growing up, instead we Campfire Boys and Girls, really enjoyed it. Don't think they exist anymore.

No but they are similar to scouts... from what I've been told.

Very similar, except it was for both Boys and Girls. Loved going to summer camp that they had. Naturally there were horses so it was awesome week away. Plus there was a lake where we got to do early morning swimming and earned merit badges for various things while we were there.

which after a few years, was infested with leeches so no one went anymore

When I was growing up I did day camps mostly.

I did day camps until I was 10 or 11
then I started going to 'sleep away camp' until i was 16
i refused to go after that, because I'd have to switch to the 'teen' campus, and my experience said teens are mean to younger kids, they actually let me stay on the main campus an extra year because my brother asked them really nicely, as it turns out too, one of the other girls who I was in a cabin with the year before (the only nice girl) was ALSO on the main campus, in my cabin (we're the same age, but we were still a year older than the rest of the cabin). n___n <333

It's camp but you spend the night. Referred to as sleep away camp by some. Where as camp where you go home at the end of the day is called day camp.

Sorry! Had other things happening this week and my left sciatic nerve is giving me hell and my right hip hurts. Fucking falling apart over here. Aging sucks ass, almost literally. On a high note, got a massage scheduled for tomorrow at noon. Good way to relax on the weekend.
