sorry to hear that but I am glad to hear that he was able to quit
United Blood Service does something special like that for the donors every month or every two months. Depends on what it is. During the beginning of the year they hand out free tickets to the Renaissance Faire. That's when my donations really payoff, I can get five or six free tickets, allowing me to get some friends in with us. Very fun.
Most of the time they are food related, a free taco from Rubio's, a free small pizza from a local pizza place, small thank yous like that. Helps keep the husband fed.

Was scoping out the water park yesterday, their endless river isn't as big as the one in Hurricane Harbor, but who cares. Still looks fun and relaxing. If we can go during a week day, since most kids have gone back to school, the park should be fairly empty. Totally okay with that. No asshole kids to deal with.

Thanks, Ruby! The backgrounds from Squishy Space Protector so seldom get used, it was fun to incorporate it to the outfit. And the fluffy shawl thingy goes well with the cape. Wasn't sure how it would look, came out great. Plus the different skins are something that is fun to play with.

Thanks, Symphony. The DAC is mostly responsible for the outcome.

That is so much fun, I am definitely going to check out that water park when I move out to California this year.

I'm very excited! My friend in Vermont (that I met online) made me a beautiful quilt and it arrived today. I absolutely love it, I will take pictures to show you all when I can.
Hurricane Harbor is only open in like May to August, so it might not be open when you get there. Definitely check it out the following summer. There is also San Dimas water park to check out. Love that place as well. It's been featured in a few movies, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Norbit. There is probably a few other movies, I just can't recall them off hand right now.

Quilts take patience to make, along with creative vision. Totally in awe of the things that quilters make. I am much better with yarn and crochet hook. Speaking of which, need to jump on making some more blankets to sell.

I am glad that the United Blood Service does that for the donors. Now that I think about it though, I have lots of friends who have donated blood but I don't think they mentioned anything about getting tickets to things. But they only donated a few times whereas I know you donate very frequently

Depends on the state they live in, if they are using United Blood Services. UBS isn't in every state. California, Nevada and Arizona, I know for sure they are there.

oh I see. I am not sure what services they are using. I have never personally donated blood before so I would not know either from my end (I am too light to donate)

Whole blood knocks me for a loop and messes with me physically, which is why I do the platelets. The rules for platelets are a bit different from whole blood...wonder if you could do platelets, Symphony.

We made it to the gym again this morning, that's three for three this week so far. Very excited. Establishing a habit is a pain, but it's gotta be done.

Nope I can't, just looked it up and donating platelets also requires you to be over 110 pounds

No need to be skinny. Way over rated. Healthy is just fine. It's what I am working towards myself, not thin or skinny, just a healthier weight.

Weird. Perhaps it's perspective since you are on the shorter side.

Are you the shortest in your family?

I think it's a combination of being short and all of my friends being taller than I am. And most of them are skinny but I sort of fit in as "skinny" because of my height perspective. I'm not sure if that made sense. Like, the thickness of my legs looks sort of the same thickness as the legs of my taller friends who are skinny. But if you look at the ratio, that means my legs are actually proportionately thicker?

O.o Sure...Suppose I would have to see to completely understand.

Weight wise are you within the recommended height to weight ratio? For my height and weight, I am considered Obese.

yes I am, although my cholesterol is a tad bit high so the recommended ratio isn't all that matters. I will have to eat better and exercise more to be considered healthy

According to my BMI I am the recommended weight for my height. But I felt way better when I was underweight. I was much healthier, I think the BMI thing is ridiculous. I mean, it's nice to get an idea of how much you should aim for, but to rely on it is not for me.

I was fine being underweight until I went to the hospital and the doctor said, "you are 20lbs underweight, we are going to give you supplements to make you gain weight!" And now I feel horribly unhealthy. Not because of my weight alone but because of where all the weight went. It went to my stomach and my thighs and I can't fit into my old clothes. :c

I was much happier being underweight!

I give through American Red Cross. Blood drives are often held at Splash Universe. When they are they give away free tickets tot he water park. I gave once and got an awesome thermal grocery bag, which has gotten much use.

I want a flat chest and a flat butt.
I used to be flat everywhere until the doctors started to force me to gain weight.

Now I have a butt and I have enough boobs to actually wear a bra. Though, I choose not to.
