Rosemary jumped, nearly pulling her knife before realizing who it was that had surprised her. "Wait, what? How? Are they close? How do you know?" She asked.

"I'll explain later but we don't have a lot of time to spare." Lori grimaced. "Lets get the rest of the stuff and go. We can get a couple horses and I'll explain on the run."

Rosemary nodded, her face taking on a serious expression. "Right. I've gotten everything on my list, so that part's done. Let's get moving."

Lori nodded together the gathered the rest of the stuff. She bought a horse for herself and waited for her sister to pick the one she wanted.

Rosemary didn't waste time picking a horse she liked- she didn't want to get attached. Instead, she chose the horse best suited for travel. The mare was small, good for speed and stealth, but had good stamina for traveling long hours. "All set. Let's go." She said.

Lori packed the horses up and hopped on hers. "Lets head out." she glanced the map she had bought and headed for where the group that was heading south would be starting out of.

Rosemary jumped up onto her horse and waited for Lori to start moving. "Which way, boss?" She asked.

"This way." Lori headed for a little used path. "Hopefully we'll be there before they start moving south."

Alex was doing his exercises with the doctor hoping his brother was ok."

Rosemary kicked her horse into motion and followed her sister. "What will we do if they recognize us?" She asked. "We're kind of easy to recognize."

Cal got ready to return to his brother. He sent a messenger bird ahead of him to let Alex know what had happened.

"We'll buy wigs in the next town it's much larger and will hopefully have some nice ones. If they do find us before that...well I haven't worked that part out yet." Lori shrugged.

Alex blinked at the bird then read the message. He had to read it a couple times "he let them go?" he sat down. "What the hell was he thinking?"

"Hm." Rosemary nodded. That would have to be enough for the time being. "We'll figure it out as we go. Meanwhile, can you tell me what happened?"

Meanwhile, Cal was breaking camp and moving on. He was starting to wonder the same thing as Alex. Why had he let them go? Why not follow them? He knew precisely where they were going. It would be easy. So why? He thought of the older princess, how she acted towards him, how she'd challenged him and saw through his acting so easily, and realized that he wanted her to trust him. The realization hit him like a brick, and he had to sit down. He cared about that girl. He had broken the biggest rule of his profession- never develop feelings for the target.

Lori explained. "I don't trust him either way but at least we can get away from him this way." she frowned softly. "Why he just let is go I don't know. Maybe he'll follow us."

Rosemary was quiet for a while after Lori finished talking, a small frown on her face as she thought this over. "It doesn't make any sense. If it is true, why would he warn you? You were alone. Why didn't he just make his move then, and try to kidnap you? Why let us go?" She wondered.

"I doesn't make much sense does it?" Lori frowned more. "What's even weirder is I think I feel bad. His brother is hurt after all and I...I don't know what I would do if you got hurt."

Rosemary made a thoughtful sound. "That's not all that weird. We're so close, of course you would feel bad for someone who loves their sibling that much." She said. "And I know how you feel. If you got hurt, I just..." She shook her head, unable to complete the thought.

Lori shook her head and focused on the trails.

Cal was getting his stuff ready to go. He would find his brother and figure out just what was wrong with him even if he got himself hurt.

Rosemary fell silent, also focusing on where they were going. Her horse was a bit difficult to handle, but she welcomed the distraction from her churning thoughts.

Cal slowly wandered through the forest, heading back to the village where Alex was waiting.

Alex meet him half way in between. "There you are!" he stopped his horse and carefully slid off. "What are you doing? We'll lose them for sure!"

Lori stopped shy of the next town. "Doesn't look like anything is wrong." she eased off the horse and edged into town. "Lets get the wigs and get out."

Cal stopped, blinking at the sight of his injured brother on a horse. "Me? What are you doing? You're supposed to be resting for another month! Are you trying to kill yourself?"

Rosemary nodded, then hopped off her horse and followed. "Right. But don't rush, or people will get suspicious. Act natural, like we're busy, but don't go too fast."

"No but I was more worried about what you had been doing!" Alex scowled. "I'm fine." he wasn't really fine his ribs where screaming. "We can still catch them with Cleo's help." the bird was sitting in a tree above his head.

Lori nodded and walked into town looking like she didn't have anything important to do. She found the wig place and entered blinking at all the styles. "We'll need colors that are totally opposite to are natural color."

Cal shook his head. "No, Alex. Just let them go. Your health is way more important, and don't tell me you're okay, I can tell just looking at you that you're not."

Rosemary snorted slightly. "I don't think that will help in my case. The opposite of green is red, as in bright blood red. That won't hide me any more than green does." She looked around. "Maybe I'll go with black?"

Lori giggled. "You would look fabulous in blood red." she teased examining a stack of Brown wigs. "I think you would look good in black." this time she was serious.

"We needed that money." Alex stared at him. "Are you sick?" he asked dismounted with difficulty he walked over and felt his brothers forehead frowning.

Rosemary rolled her eyes. "Yes, of course, and I would stick out like a sore thumb." She said, going to look at the black wigs. "Yes, I think I'll definitely go with black...and maybe curly this time. Curly black hair is nice."

"There will be other jobs." Cal ducked away from his brother's hand. "I'm not sick, Alex. I'm just...well, maybe I am sick. That would explain why I'm feeling like this..." He sighed.

"Like what?" Alex blinked a couple times wondering what he was talking about.

"I guess so." Lori shrugged trying on a brown wig that was straight and short. "What do you think?"

Cal shook his head and leaned against a tree, sighing. "I don't know. I've never felt like this. Usually I'm the one making other people feel things. I'm an actor. But this time...she turned it around on me. She was the first one who ever saw through my act. Argh!" He shouted and started pacing.

Rosemary took a moment to give her sister a good look over. "I think it's perfect." She said finally, nodding. "It suits you."
