Cal moved over to sit next to her and checked out her ankle, so careful that his fingers barely brushed the skin. "It looks like it's doing well. I still wouldn't put any pressure on it, though." He said. "It should be fine to walk on by tomorrow night. In the meantime, are you hungry? I'll get us some breakfast."

Rosemary blushed. "You speak as though I'm a flower." She said. "When the truth is I'm more of a briar."

Lori want to answer but her stomach best her to it growling loudly. She turned ten shades of pink and looked away. "I'm hungry." she mumbled.

"No you like Briar Rose. Though you have thorns it just hides your true beauty." Alex kissed her hand gentle.

Cal gave a soft chuckle and patted her shoulder. "I'll bring some up." He said, standing and putting his shoes on.

Rosemary blushed brighter. No one had ever thought of her that way before, let alone told her so. "I...I...th-thank you."

"Maybe...can you carry me?" Lori asked. While she loved being taken care of she had to get use to taking care of herself as much as possible.

"Your welcome." Alex grinned then stood. "Lets go get food."

Cal tilted his head slightly, then nodded. "Sure." He said. He leaned down and picked her up gently.

Rosemary cleared her throat and stood up. "Food sounds good." She said.

"thanks." Lori smiled up at him. "Your so nice to do this." she settled her head on his shoulder.

Alex took her hand and lead her to the dinning hall ordering them breakfast.

Cal blushed so lightly that it normally wouldn't have been visible, but it could be seen by someone right up close to him. "It's...it's nothing, really. I just..." He cleared his throat. "It's the least I could do for you, after all the trouble I caused."

Rosemary allowed herself to be led, blushing slightly the whole way. Sure, she'd had servants wait on her back at the palace, but she wasn't used to being taken care of, not really. Especially not by a man. A handsome, caring man. She blushed more at the thought.

"Are you...blushing?' Lori stared at him in surprise. "Thats...cute." she giggled. "So one of the most wanted criminals actually has feelings." she teased then blushed as her stomach growled loudly. "I smell food."

"Your blushing." Alex glanced up at her with a grin holding her chair out. "Looks like waffles, or pancakes." he observed as a waitress ran around the room serving people.

Cal blushed brighter. "I-I'm not blushing." He mumbled. "And I'm not a wanted criminal. At least...I wasn't, before you." He and Alex had been good at their job, no one had ever caught or even suspected them. Cal was glad for the distraction of food as he brought Lori into the inn. "I guess they're serving breakfast."

Rosemary looked away as she sat down, covering her face with her hair. "Sounds good. Smells even better." She said, watching the waitress. "She must be exhausted already. There's no one else to help her."

"Maybe I could offer her some help." Alex frowned a little then blushed as his stomach growled. "After food."

Lori spotted an empty table. "There's a table!" she pointed it out putting off there conversation for now.

Rosemary giggled and nodded. "Okay, sounds like a plan." She said.

"I see it." Cal said, heading for the table. He placed her gently in a chair and then sat in the one across from her.

Lori pulled another chair over to pop her leg up on and sighed. "Much better." she studied the menu and blinked. "This must be run by someone from further north." She had been to Castiel's kingdom once and had sampled some of the food there. She turned to studied the girl that was filling orders,it wasn't her. As she looked around a man emerged from the kitchen a northern wolf at his side shouting at the young boy who came hurrying out. The boy stopped at there table "May I help you?" he asked in the same musical tone that Cas had. She smiled feeling a little sad but ordered the one item she knew.

Alex ordered then dug in as soon as there food appeared practically sucking it down.

Cal took note of Lori's expression while she ordered, then ordered for himself. Having traveled a lot, he knew more of the items on the menu.

Rosemary ate a bit slower, preferring to actually taste her food. Still, she ate faster than her parents would have approved of, which made her smile.

Alex finished with a sigh. "I feel much better." he grinned. "It's really good."

Lori stared at the wall deep in thought tugging a curl that had fallen over her eye.

Rosemary nodded. "It is." She agreed. "Almost as good as my sister's baking. Almost."

Cal found himself staring at her, unable to look away. For some reason, just watching her was the most fascinating thing in the world.

"is she really that good? How did she manage to cook in that castle?" Alex blinked a little.

Lori looked over in time to see him staring at her. On instinct and out of habit she opened her mouth. "See something you like?" she asked with a smirk.

Rosemary shook her head. "She didn't, at least not officially. Lori always had more freedom, especially when we were kids, and she liked watching the cooks. She tried baking once as a kid, strictly off the record- our parents never found out- and she did really well. And while she was working at that bakery, it was like she was really in her element. Like she was...home."

This time, there was no way for Cal to deny that he was blushing. "W-wha...I...you...d-don't...I didn't..." He trailed off, realizing that his stammering was making it worse. He cleared his throat nervously and then made another snap decision- something that seemed to happen a lot with Lori around. He told the truth. "If you must know, yes."

"That's amazing that she could get away with it." Alex blinked then smiled at her. "What about you? What are your big plans for all this?"

Lori turned a dark pink color and looked away. "Your a strange person. You know that?" she asked with a smirk. "I'm not that interesting."

Rosemary paused. "I'm not entirely sure. I...never really planned beyond this. For so long, my plan was just to get out of there and be free. Now that it's finally happened, I have some thinking to do. Although I liked working with the horses at the last inn. If I could make a living breeding and raising horses, maybe..." The thought made her look wistful.

"I disagree." Cal said. "I mean, I agree that I'm a strange person. But I disagree that you're not interesting." He blushed more. "You're probably the most interesting person I've ever met."

"really?" Alex blinked in surprise. "Then your in luck because I want to work with horses at well." he grinned. "Lets start that dream together...if you want to of course." he blushed a little.

Lori blinked softly then smiled. "Why are you blushing?" she asked. "Your not the first to try flattering me." she looked away. "No one ever means it." she couldn't help but think about Cas. "So why where you really staring at me? Do I have something on my face?"

Rosemary looked like she was about to cry. She could hardly believe it. "Of course I want to." She said, smiling. Had she really found a guy that actually liked her, and had shared interests? It was almost too good to be true.

"I'm not trying to flatter you." Cal said plainly. This was all new territory for him- usually he would be flirting, trying to charm her, but now he was stumbling through like a child. "If I were doing that, you'd know. I...I'm not used to being honest like this." He cleared his throat. "I guess it's kind of ironic. You're not used to getting sincere compliments, and I'm not used to giving them. But this time I actually mean it, so...get used to it, I guess."

"This is great." Alex took her hand and kissed it. "I got a girl and she wants to work on horses like I do." he sighed. "We'll have to start raising the money" he grinned already planning it out.

Lori stared at him for a while then glared at him. She didn't know how to react no man had ever been truthful with her. She was use to half truths, veiled threats and the usual falseness that came with being a royal. She was staring at her hands. "I don't have to use to anything." she finally said looking up.

Rosemary blushed and smiled. "It's going to be a long road. And probably really tough." She said. "But I'm looking forward to the hard work."

"Okay, then don't." Cal said with a shrug. "But that won't stop me from complimenting you, or telling the truth. Even if you can't hear it."

"Why are you starting to tell the truth? Why not just keep lying?" Lori inhaled as there food appeared and started to eat glaring at him over her fork trying to figure him out.

"Well I'll do most of the heavy lifting till you work up those muscles." Alex teased her pinching her arm gentle. "We can start looking for a slice of land with plenty of grass and trees to make into the barn and a house."

Cal scowled. "I don't know!" He said, clearly frustrated. "I don't know why I'm acting like this, or why I feel this way, or what the feeling even is. I certainly can't explain why suddenly, I want to be a better person, just because that might make you think better of me. I've never cared before. So why do I care now? Why just because of you?" He glared at his plate, then looked up at her. "What have you done to me?" He asked in a whisper, sounding desperate. Frightened.

Rosemary blushed. "I'm stronger than I look." She said. "Maybe not super muscular, but I can lift plenty, and I'm sturdy..."
