Some medicines are flavored. Quite a few actually. But others can taste so bad flavors wont help.
If you've ever wondered why your pill says do not crush... I have looked at the official do not crush document. Like half of them are because they taste THAT bad.
Though one smells like a peppermint, another looks like a peppermint, and overall medicine is a weird industry. Even one that looks like a green or red M&M (and they wonder why it keeps getting consumed by children)

I didn't know we weren't supposed to crush pills because they would taste too bad

Not all of them, but a large number. The rest were for being things like a delayed release tablet. Crushing or chewing it potentially overdoses you on 8-24 hours worth of medication.

It's not much to know... to be honest I forgot most of what I was taught.
Antidepressants? Hmm... not sure if those typically come in delayed release.

Well hopefully there were no long-term effects from taking those if you did not need them :o

I think antidepressants are a short term thing, and if the depression wasn't chemical based it probably made it worse. But overall once the body is able to reset it's usually fine I think.
Medications are terribly dangerous, but the human body is surprisingly resilient to them.

That is good news *nods* although I am sure too much of it might end up damaging the body's mechanisms for clearing drugs in the first place. Same with things like alcohol and smoking cigarettes

True, but much like smoking, if you actually stop smoking, you can get to the point where your body returns to the healthy level of a nonsmoker. Granted, the damage has been done, but medically you aren't classified as a smoker I think. I believe it takes 5 years.

*nods* it takes a while but that is good news for people who manage to quit smoking. Quitting in itself can be extremely hard to do in the first place so I am glad it pays off in the long run.

Quitting anything that's harmful pays off in the long run, because even if it has done irreversible damage, like smoking's aging of the body, the short-term damage can be removed to improve life.
