Lori grimaced and lead the way managing to find the best shoes with least heel to them that she could. "I'm still going to die." she sighed then turned pink as she imagined falling onto Bruce. "Shoot me!" she begged Gemini.

Gemini had just picked out a perfect pair of shoes when Lori begged her to shoot her. She fumbled with the shoes slightly, startled, and looked at her friend. "Um, no. Why?" She asked.

'I can't get him out of my head. Ever since we meet. Whenever I was with Clark or staring at something I would wear I found myself wondering what he would think." Lori buried her face in her hands. "I doesn't help that his suit is so skin tight. Even with it being black you can see him muscles." she sighed. "and when he's wearing normal cloths I just can't help staring. Bruce Wayne is invading my mind."

Gemini blinked. "Oh, I see. Well, I hate to say this Lori, but it sounds like you like him. Actually, it sounds like you've liked him for a long time. Maybe even while you were dating Clark." She said softly. "You know, maybe you should go for it. He's not seeing anyone, right? Maybe this is just what you need."

"Define not seeing anyone. Billionaire Bruce Wayne has been seen with a thousand girls and I...I don't think I could ever be one of them." Lori ran a hand threw her hair. "You know the rumors as well as I have. I've seen him with those...sluts." she glared at the ground. "I get why. He's protecting his Batman persona but still...it sucks seeing them all over him....OK maybe I do like him." she blushed.

Gemini nodded. "I understand. There are problems, but Lori...I think if he were to seriously date someone, that girl would never be just one of those girls. She'd be the only girl. He'd drop the playboy act. I don't think he likes that act anyway." She sighed. "Well, at least we've established that you do, in fact, like him. Now the problem is acting on those feelings. But hey, at least you've got it easier than me."

"Yeah...I still can't believe you think you like that son of a bitch." Lori scowled buying the shoes, makeup and jewelry that went with her dress. "He's never going to know how to show he likes you...if he likes you that is."

Gemini snorted. "There's no way he does." She said, thinking of Harley. "And that's probably best for everyone. Eventually I'll get over this...whatever it is. It'll pass." She added, though she didn't sound too hopeful.

"Maybe." Lori smirked. "but I thought my crush on Bruce would fade and look at me know. Buying a dress to go to a Gala hoping he's there so I can saw off...he might but he'll probably be with someone."

"Well it's different with me because there's absolutely no possible way that the guy I like feels the same way. With you, there's a pretty good chance." Gemini reasoned. "Anyway, I'm sure Bruce will be there- he's always at these things. But don't get upset if there's someone with him. You know it's an act. And maybe you could use it as motivation- take Bruce's attention and affection right out from under the slut, just to show her who's boss."

Lori nodded. "alright." she headed for the car and jumped when a building exploded. "Joker." she noticed the green colored smoke across the river. "He never gets a break does." she trailed off when she spotted Clark and Lois outside a cafe neither of them noticed them.

Distracted by the explosion, Gemini didn't notice the couple at first. When she turned and saw them, she scowled. "Look, another reason to go after Bruce. Show that cheating lowlife that you can do way better." She wanted to shoot fireballs at him, but refrained. "Too bad Joker didn't blow up that café."

Lori pushed Gemini into the car and drove off flames flickering on his arms heating up the car till it felt like a volcano. "I hate him." she breathed. "I hate her."

Gemini tugged at the collar of her shirt, starting to get uncomfortable. "Lori? Remember what happened to my bike the other day? You're about to do the same thing to your car." She said. "Except it will be a lot worse because cars have gasoline which will explode and kill us both."

Lori blinked and looked at her arms. "Whoops." the fire vanished and the car began to cool off. "Sorry." she mumbled pulling into her parking spot.

Gemini sighed a little in relief. "That's alright. I don't blame you." She said. She would probably have reacted the same way. "Let's get inside and get all dressed up. Maybe you can help me with my makeup? I'm not the best at it."

"Alright." Lori smirked and dragged her inside playing dress up. She piled Gemini's hair and curled it a little before adding the makeup. "There what do you think?"

Gemini looked in the mirror and gasped. "Oh...wow...is that really me?" She'd never looked so pretty before. It was like looking at someone else. She spun around to hug Lori. "It's amazing, thank you!"

"Yes it you." Lori laughed hugging her back. "I just accented the beauty you already have." she grinned and pulled away. "Now I need to do myself." she started working on her makeup and hair. She curled her hair and pinned part of it up placing a necklace on and matching earrings to finish off the look.

Gemini blushed, fighting the urge to protest that she wasn't normally beautiful. Instead, she watched Lori work on herself, taking mental notes about what she did so she could practice another time. When Lori was done, Gemini clapped. "That's amazing! You look even better than usual! Oh, you're definitely gonna turn some heads."

"There's only one head I really want to turn." Lori blushed and grabbed her keys. "Come on we should start out before the dance starts." she headed for her car glad she had bought a fancy looking car.

Gemini laughed and followed Lori out to the car. She was excited- it had been a while since she'd been to any kind of party, and she was looking forward to turning a few heads of her own. Maybe flirting would take her mind off of...other things.

Lori handed the keys to the valet when they got there. She pulled her shawl close ignoring the cameras and paparazzi waiting for the famous people to show up. She walked in head held high "They really are annoying." she mumbled once they where in and the door man had taken there shawls.

Gemini followed suit, not really caring about the cameras since she knew they weren't interested in her. She smiled at Lori once they got in. "You'll have to get used to it if you want to hook up with Bruce." She teased.

"Well he'll just have to hold me back." Lori snorted then perked up when she heard the yelling of the paparazzi outside. "I wonder if it's Bruce."
