Gemini nodded. "Right." She smiled at her new friend. "Just do your best to get through what you're dealing with now, then reexamine your feelings. I'm sure you'll see everything much more clearly then."

"Thanks." Lori hugged her gentle. "I think we're going to be great friends." she smiled at her. "Well tomorrow I have to talk to my parents so I should probably go to sleep."

Gemini hugged her back. "I hope we will." She said, standing up and stretching. "Alright, get some sleep then. I'll leave the door to my room open in case you need anything."

"I'll give a holler then." Lori smiled and settled in not feeling tired she stayed up staring at the ceiling until finally her eyes closed and she slept.

The next morning, Gemini woke up bright and early as always and started making breakfast. Okay, "woke up" was a loose term, considering she hadn't actually slept, but...she wouldn't tell anyone else that.

Lori woke to the smell of food and headed over looking half asleep. "Coffee?" she mumbled yawning.

"Almost finished brewing." Gemini answered without turning around. About half a minute later, she poured them each a cup of coffee and set a huge plate of pancakes on the table with fruit and syrup. "There we go."

Lori chugged the coffee and took a couple bites of food. "Well better go see the people who hate me." she sighed. "Wish me luck." she went off and took a couple trains then a hour walk. She arrived at a brownstone and with a swallow knocked it went worse then she had planned on. She walked away furious and sad her powers crackling against her skin.

Gemini almost offered to go with her, but held off. She had a feeling her presence would only make things worse. Instead, she wished her friend luck and watched her go. Once she had cleaned up from breakfast, she took a shower and headed to work- the Chinese restaurant below her apartment, where she worked making deliveries on her bicycle.

Lori headed to the gym to burn off her anger. She had to leave there when she melted a barbell. She paced the whole city eventually running into Gemini her touch melted the bike in a second. "Oh crap sorry!"

Gemini was rising her bike when, suddenly, the whole thing melted underneath her. She fell to the ground and instantly checked to see if the order was still intact. It was. She looked up to see Lori. "That's okay, but you'll have to pay me whatever money I lose for delivering this late. You must have been really upset, to melt a whole bike." She said.

"You could say that." Lori ran a hand threw her hair. "They hate me...not that that's anything different." she sniffled a little. "I'll pay for the bike and for whatever else you need. I really am sorry."

Gemini secured the order and hugged Lori. "Hey, I said it's alright. You don't have to pay for everything, I've got enough saved up for a new bike. I've been looking to get one, anyway. Now, do you want to talk about it, or would you rather consume large amounts of ice cream?"

"I'm kind of worried that if I eat anything I would melt whatever I touched." Lori ran a hand threw her hair. "Ah well." she told her what her parents had said. When she finished more flames had appeared along her arms giving off intense heat.

Attempting to help, Gemini used her own powers to calm some of the flames so that they didn't ignite anything else. "I'm so sorry, Lori. No one should ever have to deal with that kind of...abuse. It's lucky I never met them, or I'd have given them something to think about while they rested in the ICU." She sighed. "Well...on the upside, ice cream melts no matter what you do, so it's prefect. Come on, I need to deliver this quick before my boss docks my pay. After that I have a break, and we can just hang out."

"As long as there heat proof cones or bowls we should be fine." Lori sighed. "They told me not to go to Harleens funeral. They said I wouldn't be welcome." she choked. "I'm going no matter what." she focused and reformed her bike though it was lopsided and off.

Gemini stared for a moment at her lopsided bike. "Huh. Cool power." She said, and started walking. "You have every right to go to the funeral, whether they like it or not. Didn't Br- uh, didn't a certain someone say he was going to pay for the funeral, anyway? It would be up to him, then, who's welcome and who's not." Thankfully, the address she was delivering to was close by. She got the food there on time and got paid, but didn't receive a tip.

"Dad called him and told him to not meddle in family affairs...I think he may have thought Bruce was her sugar daddy or something." Lori sighed not caring that she had said his name.

Gemini nearly choked. "He thought what? Did he even know who he was talking to?" She asked, disbelief coloring her tone. That was so many shades of rude she could paint a picture with them!

"Well...Bruce does have a reputation for going out with ever girl imaginable." Lori shrugged. "It's not exactly the greatest image to show the world but he's not really like that"

"Yeah, but he's also a very well respected businessman and known for being professional. I mean, you don't just...I don't know, I can't imagine being rude to him. especially when he's doing something so nice."

"yeah well thats my parents for you." Lori snorted a little. "They hate anything that doesn't fit into there rules." she sighed. "Lets just go before something else melts."

Gemini huffed. "I'd like to show them something that doesn't fit into the rules. Harley was a saint compared to me." She muttered as she lead the way to her apartment. "I have tons of ice cream and fire proof bowls, for obvious reasons." She explained.

"Fire proof things are great." Lori smirked. "Makes for a good weapon as well. You can heat it up and slammed in against someone's head."

Gemini laughed. "That's true. I branded someone, once. Seared a big old G right on his butt." She said as she let them into the apartment. She got the bowls and spoons out quickly, and opened her freezer. "Pick your poison." She had about five different flavors of ice cream stored away.
