"Only until Connor ends up rounding up all of them for playtime at the same time," Lucy pointed out with a little grin. "Which'll be so great. I'll record it."

“Promise me you’ll give me a copy,” Mavin said, grinning. “He really does have them all wrapped around his finger, doesn’t he?”

"He totally does," Lucy agreed with a grin. "It's really kind of awesome."

Mavin just grinned. After she had a proper meal, she felt steady enough to go find her son and make sure he was okay. Unsurprisingly, she found him in the art room with Steve.

Steve was seated next to Connor helping him draw Captain America beating up more bad guys. It amused him and made Connor happy so win win.

Mavin knocked gently on the doorframe. Connor looked up and immediately scrambled to his feet.

"Mommy!" Connor jumped at her, and she caught him.

"I'm here," Mavin said, hugging him and holding him close. "I'm so sorry, baby, I didn't mean to be gone so long, are you okay?"

"Yup," Connor said, cuddling. "I'm okay."

"Good," Mavin said. She smiled. "And have you been behaving for everyone?"

"Yup!" Connor said again, nodding. He looked up and beamed. "Capin Steve's been helping me draw!"

Steve smiled a bit at that and rose. "It's been fun," he assured Mavin before she could say anything. "He's a good kid." He hesitated a moment. "It's good to see you up and about again. We were all a bit worried."

"I'm glad to be up and about again," Mavin said, letting her son go back to coloring. She smiled. "Thank you for helping to look after him. I hope he wasn't too much of a handful."

"Not at all. He was good." Steve smiled a bit. He really was rather fond of Connor. "Maybe you can rein your sister in now too. Buck's been eating so many sweets."

Mavin laughed a bit.

“She’ll ease off the baking soon,” she said. “Don’t worry about that one.”

"Well it's been vanishing almost as fast as she can make it, so I'm not sure about that." But Steve smiled, since he'd achieved his goal of getting her to relax a bit anyway.

“She’ll slow down now that she’s more relaxed,” Mavin assured him. She was quiet for a moment. “How has everything been on the official side of things, the last few days?”

"Officially, quiet," Steve told her. "Not a lot going on right now." He shrugged. "Which is fortunate, really."

“Good,” Mavin said, nodding. “I’d hate to have to explain that I was a bear while something important was happening.”

Steve snorted quietly. "Nah, no explaining necessary," he told her. "Promise, everyone was good and everything's pretty quiet."

"Excellent," Mavin said. She stretched and sighed. Then she looked at Steve again. "And what about you? Have you been alright the last couple of days?"

Steve blinked but nodded. "Yeah," he agreed. "I've been fine." He smiled a bit. "Buck's sticking pretty close to Lucy, I've noticed." He looked rather pleased about that.

"I think he might like her," Mavin said, grinning. The grin turned into a genuine smile as she glanced at him. "But I'm glad you're doing okay."

Steve smiled, pleased, and ducked his head a bit. "You too," he murmured. "Good to see you up and about."

"Thanks," Mavin said. She looked at her hands briefly. "It'll be interesting from now on. I'll need to work on my control now."

Steve nodded. "It'll be an adjustment," he agreed. "But you'll manage."

"Just one more thing on top of everything else," Mavin said. She glanced at her son to make sure he was still distracted with is coloring, gave a short sigh and then a small grin. "But I'll handle it. Always do."

Steve nodded. He knew that feeling very well.

"At least you don't have to worry about Bucky right now," he agreed in a murmur.

"He will eventually need to be reevaluated by the UN council," Mavin pointed out. "Probably sooner rather than later, if I know anything about them."

"But he's doing better," Steve pointed out. "Much better than he was originally."
